Welcome to the Yellow Bach!

Four people can enjoy a quiet sandy, safe and tidal beach just 80 metres across the grass. Front row position. Lovely sea and summer sunset views from the dining table. Seaside children's playground is a one minute walk away
There are some really nice and safe kayak paddles within the bay, up two mangrove creeks as well as around the coast.

A little under an hour north of Auckland, Campbells makes for a great escape place.
By car, Matakana is 9 minutes, Tawharanui Regional Park and Sandspit both 15 minutes and Warkworth supermarket 20 minutes.

Campbells Beach is a hotspot for birdlife. Listen to the kaka, bellbirds and tuis in the day time, kookaburras (true) at dawn and dusk and an owl at night.

PADDLE through mangroves at Campbells Beach, across to Baddley's Beach and up their creek, and paddle out to enjoy the sunset on the water
WALK at low tide straight to gather cockles, left around the rocks to the next (no name) beach, right past Baddely's Beach to Buckleton Beach and even further. You can walk for hours.

Eat any fruit in season There are figs plum, grapefruit, orange, tangelo, lemon trees

7 mins to Matakana for weekend farmers market, cinema or cafes
10 mins to Morris and James pottery/cafe near Matakana

We stayed here with our kids 11 years ago and came back to celebrate our 30th anniversary! This is a very special, peaceful place, with plenty to do nearby if you want to go exploring. Thank you - Hopefully we wonā€™t have such a long gap before our next visit!

Affordable convenient bach!

Great stay overall, location was good. We went to the Matakana market and Tāwharanui Regional Park, both within 20min of the bach. Only thing to be aware of is there are no tea towels, toilet paper, shower needs, etc. so have to prepare a little bit more to bring all you need for your stay. Otherwise, great stay and would stay again!

A little bit ofsun in the middle of winter

We enjoyed being waterfront even though it was winter. We had amazing weather though so we enjoyed the deck at the back with all the different birds and views of the trees up the hill. The house was warm so didnt really have to use the heat pump much or the electric blankets on the beds. Would love to be be back to enjoy another break.

Weekend stay to take part in the Auckland Trail run series.

We took part in the 20 km run in the Tawharanui Regional Park. The location of the bach was perfect. The owners were very helpful and we would highly recommend a stay at the Yellow Bach

We booked the yellow bach in order to be close to the Tawharanui regional park, and enjoyed the kayaks, the beach, and the proximity to Matakana for dining, crafts, and wine tasting.

Great. But.

The location sells it: quiet shady beach 50M away. Enjoyed sitting out on deck. Great tv, internet, coffee maker, stove, air conditioning. We knew to take towels & sheets; other bedding is old, stained. BBQ in photo isnā€™t there, only one with an old cylinder that cant be filled or swapped. No paper or cleaning products, unless left by previous guests. For a couple of days, the location compensates for the shortcomings. Nearest shopping is Matakana.

Great break. Great coffee machine

We spent a lovely week here. Best coffee maker we've struck in a rental property. Everything we needed was there. Owner was great to deal with. Close to Matakana and great swimming beaches, though Campbell's Bay itself is very tidal

We live on the North Shore and have five adult children and eight grand children. We have had enormous fun over the years at the bach with the kayaks, fishing, lawn cricket and so on.

Por que o anfitriĆ£o escolheu essa propriedade

We bought this place because it was right on the water, level for grand children to play and only an hour from home. We also like the fact that there is lots of bird life there. Tui, wood pigeon, oyster catchers, grey heron, owl and even kookaburra (true, they migrated from Kawau and you can hear them early morning and in the evening). We often hear kaka flying overhead too.

Just one hour from Auckand, quiet, on the beach, and a hotspot for bird life. 7 minutes drive to Matakana. Newly renovated, excelllent kitchen and dishwasher, cosy and warm. Children's playground very close by.
