Sobre esta propriedade
Beautifully located Pacific holiday home water right at the front door
A delightful and comfortable, get-away holiday home - in a private location in Vava'u.
Vava'u is an hour's flight from Tongatapu on Real Tonga Airlines or from Fiji on Fiji Air. Two ferry services are also available. There is an 18 hour ferry service, leaving on Tuesday eveng and a 6 - 8 hour service, departs on Wednesday morning.
Airport pick up and boat transfers are organised and provided for guests from Neiafu to Hunga Island (this is an additional cost to guests, young children travel free).
One'atea is set in a beautiful, lush, safe, clear water lagoon, Our holiday home has mosquito screens on opening windows and doors. All amenities are provided, including use of a pontoon boat Pep'e, optimist, sailing and rowing dinghy, 2 kayaks, 2 paddle bards, snorkle/fishing gear, buoyancy aides, books, games, music, VHF radio, mobile phone, safe for valuables, gas barbeque, first aid kit, all linen, soaps, toiletries, and well equipped kitchen with fridge/small freezer. Comfortable beds, hot water shower. Gas cooking. Fire extinguisher and smoke detectors.
Internet connection is also available at 'One'atea for a small charge.
This place is a fisherman's paradise. Hunga and the surrounding Vava'u area offers a dynamic mix of fishing options. fishing techniques and an array of different species to target. Inside the lagoon is great for lure fishing, including soft plastics, slow trolled bibbed lures, spinning lures and probably any other lure you try. There are many spots as yet unexplored for rock fishing.
Turtles can often be seen bobbing cheekily in the water amongst schools of fish in front of our house. Vava’u attracts many humpback whales between June and November each year - as they head from Antarctica to the warm waters of Vava'u because of its deep water and its’ geographical location.
Perfect for kayaking, snorkling/diving. Explore the sheltered lagoon by kayak, optimist or Pep'e (3.8M aluminium coastal pontoon boat with 2 stroke 15hp engine, 25 litre tank, rod holders, portable VHF and anchor), and venture out to visit some of the neighbouring islands. Falau Lelei our 6.5 metre motor boat is also available for any water excursions or snorkelling/fishing/sight-seeing trips. Cost to be discussed at time.
Fish off the beach or take Pep'e out to catch a variety of fish for your dinner. Visit the local village or try local foods, a traditional Tongan umu and local crafts
Use of Pep'e is included free of charge, guests pay for petrol or you can book a day fishing or snorkling upon request

Sobre o anfitrião
Anfitrião: MaryP486
We purchased this property in 2007 and have renovated it over the years to a very good and comfortable standard. One'atea has been used for wonderful family holidays and for any interested guests to share, which we love. We are happy to hear from guests about their time at One'atea, it is a magical spot, with so much or so little to do. We recommend visiting from June to November, when it is not too hot :-)
Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade
We first visited Tonga in 2005 and loved it. Vava'u is an extra special place to visit, it has so much to offer - spectacular dive sites such as Swallows Rock, the Coral Gardens (snorkelling); the ford-like Pulepulekai Channel and whale watching/swmming from June to November. Sperm whales and dolphins are also seen duing the year. One'atea is located in Hunga Lagoon, a very pleasant 30 minute boat ride from Neiafu, the township. There are many outer islands located around Hunga, to vist and explore.
Your food and supplies can be purchased prior to your transfer as there are no shops on the island.
