We have a relaxing, one-bedroom, apartment which is fully self-contained and directly opposite a beach. You can enjoy the views (including stunning sunsets!) either while you are in bed or from your private deck while enjoying a glass of your favourite refreshment.

We are fortunate to live in in an area where, depending on the time of year, you may see a pod of dolphins, or a seal or an orca as you look out to the Bay. Beautiful! Guests have been known to enjoy their breakfast on their deck while watching the dolphin as they pass by.....

Also Whangarei Heads have so many beautiful native birds flying in our trees. I have a compendium in the apartment with photos and a URL link of what the various bird calls sound like. We also frequently hear kiwi in our backyard. (Please see a photo that a guest took of a male and female kiwi that were resident for a few months on the bank next to the Fish and Jandal apartment ).

The apartment is 70m2 and has a spacious bathroom, along with a separate laundry (washing machine). A full modern kitchen with fridge/freezer, ceramic cooktop, oven, microwave and Espressotoria Coffee Maker. The pantry includes basic supplies (including salt/pepper/tea/coffee/sugar/cereal/ground coffee and plunger). Keep warm or cool via the heat pump. There is a Queen bed in the bedroom and a King Single bed in the Lounge. The apartment is ideally suited for a couple or 3 guests buts a roll-away bed or porta-cot (sheets & blankets) can also be provided if required.

The apartment is also close to eateries including The Deck Cafe and McLeod Bay Takeaway(2 minutes’ drive). The Parua Bay shops (6 minutes’ drive) which has a 4 square (mini supermarket), gym, bakery, bottle store, 2 fabulous cafes (both do breakfast/lunch and dinner options and a wonderful indian takeaway). There is also the highly recommended Parua Bay Tavern which is a 10 minutes’ drive way.

McLeod Bay is one of the most popular and picturesque bays along the scenic coast of Whangarei Heads peninsula. We are close to many stunning coastal and mountain walks, including Mt Manaia (to suit all levels of fitness), a marine reserve, and a beautiful surfing beach (Oceans Beach) with its white sand dunes.

Your hosts live in the main house (above the apartment) and will leave you in peace to enjoy your time. However, we can be contacted at any time. We hope we can assist you to have an enjoyable stay on your holiday or brief escape...

Perfect for a couple but comfortable for 3 people (a couple and a child/adult). However, a roll-away bed can be provided.
