Just a 90 minute drive from Christchurch International Airport the Alpine spa village of Hanmer Springs is the perfect place to stay. Woodbank Cottages offer an atmosphere of relaxation and rest.
Fully equiped kitchen, living room, and bedroom with king bed. There is a veranda area to sit out on, or, enjoy a self cooked meal on your personal BBQ.
With a short 8 minute trip to the village you are able to enjoy a variety of excellent restaurants, relax in the Internationally recognised Thermal pool complex.
If you enjoy the outdoors Hanmer offers an 18 hole golf course, bungy jumping, and jet boating.
There is something for everyone.

The cottage was comfortable, cosy, private and beautifully located - exactly as described. Communications with Mike and his warm and friendly welcome were greatly appreciated. Also welcoming were the fresh eggs and lovely platter prepared by Lizzie. It’s a perfect place for a Hanmer Springs stay. Highly recommended!

Relaxing stay

Serenity in Hanmer Springs

From arriving at the property and greeted by Mike with a platter and fresh eggs from Lizzie through till we departed we were completely spoilt by the surroundings and the accommodation. Peace and quiet with a roaring fire and loads of books and DVDs to watch was just what we needed. We will be recommending this special place to all our friends and family.

Peaceful Stay

We enjoyed the farm like setting and the amenities. We were only 5 minutes from town and the Spa pools. The host Mike was very welcoming and accommodating. We enjoyed a lovely appy tray and fresh eggs and dairy products from the fridge. The only thing missing was Wifi. In all a very enjoyable, peaceful stay.

Hanmer treat

Very well appointed and spacious cottage in a peaceful rural setting. Cottage has really good sized bedroom and bathroom. Lovely outdoor deck for enjoying an evening meal. Hosts were fantastic.Highly recommended.

Amazing stay in the country.

The hosts were amazing to deal with. Nothing was too much trouble. Treats in the fridge and fire was warm and toasty. Wonderful experience and would highly recommend.

Peace and privacy

The cottage was very comfortable and extremely well appointed. We appreciated the wonderful welcome - log burner ablaze and a lovely platter of nibbles, along with fresh eggs and other goodies. The property is so private and quiet and gave us the much-needed opportunity to relax and feel refreshed. The hosts are very kind and helpful. Cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough.

Five Star Tranquility

Exceeded expectations. A tranquil setting yet 5 minutes from Hamner Centre. The log fire burning & surprise platter and farm fresh eggs in fridge on arrival give this property a real personal & professional touch. Allowing us to bring our small dog was a real bonus. Well appointed in relaxing, quiet setting. Thoughtfully presented with extras, the arrival platter was appreciated. Everything you could wish for to stay a few days or a few weeks. Will definitely book again.

Beautiful location

The batch is in a beautiful location, nestled in a little forest with a gorgeous view of the mountains surrounding Hanmer. We were greeted and shown around then sat down with a large cheese platter they made for us on arrival. I had a nice peaceful stay and we had everything we needed. Fresh eggs, milk and they even cleaned up our place half way through our stay. I Highly recommend staying here, if anywhere, when staying in Hanmer Springs.

Cosy Cottage

This was the perfect spot to spend a weekend in Hanmer Springs away from the busy town centre. Was clean and the owners were very welcoming and provided and unexpected but lovely cheese platter on arrival. The cottage had all the amenities we required and the fire get us toasty and warm. Would highly recommend for others looking for a quiet place to stay.

This is a very fun place to stay - private, great logburner (and heat pump), close to Hanmer Village

Loved the farm setting, view out towards the hills, tree lined driveway and privacy. Absolutely loved staying there. The hosts had the fire on for us, some local food for arrival (thanks!) and really enjoyed staying in their cabin. Morning frost was amazing with the fire roaring inside:) Very happily recommend and will stay there again. Thanks.
