Unpleasant stay.
We contacted the host ahead of time for a late checkout, making it 12pm instead of 10am, which was graciously approved. We arrived Friday around 8pm and left Sunday at about 10:30am. There was no hot water during the entire time we were there. We emailed on Saturday but never got a response. We called on Saturday the plumber, who said he was no longer working for the property. We called the other contact, who was only the cleaning person, but she advised to flip the breaker. We tried that and it did not fix the heating issue. The plumbers arrived on Sunday when we were leaving - we don't know if it was fixed. The lack of hot water wasn't the end of the world for us since we stayed in July when it was hot out, but still a necessity. Outside of the lack hot water, the biggest issue for us was that anytime we turned on water in any faucet, sink, or shower, there was a foul sewage smell that emanated from the drain. Every single place water runs in the entire house was like this - kitchen and all three bathrooms. The smell dissipated usually within 30-60 mins after we turned off the faucet, but it was so overwhelmingly bad that you could taste it in your mouth and made you want to vomit if you tried to shower. We complained about the smell in our Saturday email that never got a response. We also complained about that on Sunday morning during our phone call, but were told it's the "sulfur in the water." The home information said the water is treated and filtered and safe for consumption, but that they recommend bottled water. Between the lack of hot water and the foul smell, we cannot recommend anyone choose to stay here.
