Beautiful house on Brule Lake!

Located 15 minutes west of Iron River, Michigan is a rustic getaway sure to appeal to any vacationer. Sitting in a serene setting is a beautiful home located on Brule Lake with a breathtaking view! There is a boat landing located only .5 miles down the road. Brule Lake is perfect for boating, fishing, swimming, kayaking, etc. This is the perfect getaway spot for you and your family to unplug, relax, and unwind.

*There is no Wifi or cellular service, but there is a landline.*

*No pets allowed*

*Alert to renters with severe pet allergies: The owners of this house have had dogs at this property over the years before we decided to put it on VRBO to rent. We do go out there a few times a year with our pets (mainly in November & December around the holidays.) I highly recommend not renting this house if you or anyone in your family have any severe pet allergies. The house is cleaned exceptionally well, but we want to make sure you are aware incase you have very severe allergies. Thank you!*

*2 Kayaks and 2 paddle-boards will be available for use when staying at the property!*

This worked out perfectly for us! We have a smaller family cabin just down the road from this place & we didn't really have the space for everyone in the family this trip. Renting this cabin allowed everyone to go. Our original plan was to spend most of our time at our property and really only use this cabin to sleep. Well, we ended up spending A LOT more time here. There’s plenty of space, everything is clean, and there’s a lot of activities like the pool table & jukebox upstairs, the tv & foosball downstairs, and kayaks & paddleboard for the lake (didn’t get a chance to use them but definitely will next time!)There were a few TINY things that should be addressed like a loose doorknob & shower/sink fixtures, but that’s just wear & tear you’ll find in a lot of rentals. They weren’t an issue and will not stop us from rebooking. I will say that they should make sure the cleaners check the grill after guests check out. When I went to use it the first night, it was filthy. But I cleaned it up & it worked great. (It still needs a good, deep cleaning though. All in all, I can’t recommend this place enough! We LOVED our stay here! We will definitely come again!FYI- After we checked out, we relocated to our property down the road. When we took our boat out that night, we noticed this cabin already had new guests! So book early!

OUTSTANDING LAKE PROPERTY

We had 9 people all age ranges & everyone was VERY comfortable!!! The property was phenomenal the views were gorgeous!! The host was ahhhmazing!!! Definitely would stay again!!! So clean. Could use updated kitchenware but overall we were EXTREMELY SATISFIED!!!

Beautiful home that is perfect for family time

I highly recommend this beautiful home for your family get-away. The pictures do not do it justice. We stayed with our 5 young adults (age 16-22) and the layout of the house was perfect. The kids could split up- playing pool and listening to the jukebox in one room, sitting in front of the fire reading in another, playing board games at the dining room table, etc. It was an easy drive to Ski Brule. The owners were easy to work with. Just an FYI- we had little to no cell service there. It was a nice break from the world since the young adults couldn't really be on their phones but is worth planning ahead for. Highly recommend.

Nice property however…

Beautiful home, disappointing that some of the amenities we were looking forward to did not work, ie the sauna. Contacted the owner prior to check in to inquire if there was a grill. She responded right away that there was so we planned a nice steak dinner only for there to not be any propane. Instructions lacking on where to find additional wood for the fireplace as well.

Wonderful, Spacious Lake House

This house is wonderful! Brule Lake itself is beautiful and peaceful, and the house is right up next to the lake. It's very spacious; there are three bedrooms (and the owner mentioned an additional bedroom with bunk beds, but we didn't need to use it), but in particular there's two kitchens and two living areas for different activities and kids to run around. Cell service does just barely reach the area, but you're better off planning on not connecting for a while (who wouldn't prefer that anyways). The house and lawn is well-kept, and it's a very nice space for a family retreat or similar. It's also close to plenty of beautiful National Forest land, whether in MI or WI; nice hikes, opportunities to picnic or go tubing, and beautiful views all around. The only very minor frustration was that we had a little bit of trouble trying out some of the more niche items from the listing (we couldn't figure out how to start the sauna, in particular), but we still had an incredible time, and the house overall is fantastic!

Generation Vacation

We rented this property for our first Generation Vacation. This is a gorgous property with so much room. We were all able to spread out and enjoy our own space in the home. The highlights were kayaking, campfires & playing pool/cards with the old school jukebox playing! The property was clean, well maintained, well stocked & just as described in the listing! Communication with the host was very quick & easy. We have our cell phone service through US Cellular & AT&T and our cell phones (androids) had full reception. We were even able to work via hot spot for a bit. If youre looking for a cozy cabin with both indoor & outdoor activities availble this is it!

Family Getaway!!

We loved everything about our stay here!! From sitting on the deck to fishing to taking many trips out on the kayaks to endless games of pool and cards to relaxing to so much laughing and most surprisingly NO PHONES! It was such a great place to recharge and reconnect with the family!! We will definitely be back!

Relaxing stay and fishing

The property was more than we expected. It was clean and very woodsy themed. The view from the deck and the bottom level was great. Our family had a cabin down the way years ago and was great to reminisce about the past. Saw an eagle and caught lots of fish from the kayaks they had. Will be back when the grandkids are older for sure.

Super Fun!

Great Place! Pictures do not do the place justice for how large and beautiful it is. Very scenic lake view and while you have neigbors still feels remote. Plenty of stuff to do inside when the bugs got bad(only one night)or it rained. Deck was amazing!

Family reunion

We enjoyed our stay at Brule Lake. There was plenty of room and my family enjoyed the game area with the pool table, juke box and bar area. Outdoor furniture needs repair so we did not use the deck overlooking the lake. We had a problem with the air conditioning but Sam was very responsive to our call and got things working for us. Overall a great place for a family gathering.

Brule house

Gameroom with pool table & juke box was excellent. Also, the lower level was very nice as well. Outside area was big enough for playing outdoor games. We will definitely look into doing this again.

We so enjoyed our stay at Brule Lake. There was a bad board on the back deck & the lawn chairs had tears in the seats. TV instructions would also have been helpful. But everything else was excellent! Enjoyed our stay!

It is a beautiful house on the lake. We enjoyed our stay very much. Comfortable beds, plenty of leaving area for everyone and great play room - pool table, poker table, music. Great lake views from kitchen and family room. Two bedrooms had access to go out to deck. Kayaking and fishing was our favorite things to do there. There is a send beach close by on Hagermen Lake, grocery store about 20 minutes drive. It was a fun longer weekend

Lovely Property

My husband and I took our nieces & nephew (18, 17, 16, 10) here for our annual summer vacation with them and we had a blast. There was a snafu with the housekeeper, but the owner was wonderful about it and made good on things. We had to wash the glass doors facing the lake because they were dirty enough to distract from the beautiful view, and the deck especially had an unkept air, but the kitchen and bathrooms were clean to our standards. Cons: -One neighbor was doing remodeling and there was a TON of machine noise for hours on end - not the owner's fault, but definitely wasn't the peaceful lake setting we expected -Literally no reception - nice for disconnecting, not nice for looking up check-in instructions, researching places to eat and visit, etc. We had to drive 20 minutes to get one bar (Again, not the owner's fault, just didn't expect that) -Lack of a few basic "homey" things like night stands in the bedrooms -Only 3 outdoor chairs for by the fire pit (all with soaking wet cushions) -Very weedy, algae-covered water around the dock so no swimming; no one caught any fish in the few hours we tried -No warm water in the sink in one bathroom (we let it run for 10 minutes and it stayed cold) -Light switches were all very confusing - labels would be so helpful! :) Pros: -Absolutely beautiful view of the lake! -Huge, lovely deck -Well stocked kitchen made cooking easy -Large property good for bag toss, frisbee, etc -3 kayaks for use -Game room! The pool table, poker table, and jukebox were a hit with the teens -Fireplace - we had an amazing fire two nights -Lots of comfy seating good for spreading out & getting cozy -Excellent communication from the manager - she was incredibly kind and helpful -Prompt attention given to the couple small issues we had -Location - dead end road, very little traffic, relatively quiet lake (didn't see many boats), and close to lots of nice parks, waterfalls, etc We had a blast and recommend this VRBO, especially for families!

We had a great time! The house had everything we needed to make meals. Plenty of pots and pans, dinnerware, and utensils. We rented a pontoon from a place in Crystal River so we spent a lot of time on the water. Our granddaughter caught her first fish! Priceless! There were two eagles sitting in a tree very near to the house. We spent time on a sandbar where the kids could swim and met others from the area and had a great time with them. Went to Bond Falls one day which is a must see as well as a few other waterfalls in the area. The house has a pool table and jukebox for indoor things. Everyone had a good time!

By far our favorite place to stay!

This house had everything and more we could have ever hoped for! The lake is absolutely beautiful and great for kayaking and fishing! Very spacious and came equipped with everything you might need🙌🏼! We had 8 family members with us and a few who live near town stopped by for dinner and we had tons of space for everyone! Even the two with severe allergies and ZERO problems!! We will definitely be back next year!! Seriously can’t say enough great things about this house!
