Stressful and irritating checkin

I booked through VRBO and had no idea that I was actually renting a space from Abode. This is a rental company that uses VRBO to rent out their units but it is not mentioned in the main listing at all. Abode requires you to complete a whole SEPARATE registration including SS#, pic of drivers license and so much more. At first I was concerned that they were collecting all of my info as part of a scam and called VRBO who verified that it is part of the process and ok to complete. I then had to complete the same form with ALL of my info 4 times before it went through successfully. I added parking at this time (a whole separate Issue, I haven’t even started on that one yet!) I got a confirmation email then a few days before check in it sent me another email saying I had not completed the process so I wrote an email to the contact listed in the email with no response. I sent another email to the contact listed with no response. Finally I called and waited on hold forever just to be disconnected. This happened like 6 more times. When I finally got through they said it was an automatic email and I was all covered. Irritating. Then they informed me (the day we were heading to the rental) that there was no parking so even though I had rented a car with the plan of parking in the parking they offered I was suddenly unable to do so and had to find random parking garages. The pricing was way more than they originally charged me and since I already confirmed my rental car I had no option to change my plans based on this last minute info. They did refund me the cost I paid for parking but overall I spend almost double on parking making my car rental not cost effective at all. Then, they contacted me and stated that they needed me to send a picture of my credit card and another email with the charge on my account so they could verify which I understand is to prevent fraud but now I have given them a pic of my license, credit card, SS#, birthday, and address. I am not necessarily concerned about identity theft but this process was so extensive I will never rent with VRBO again. Unnecessarily stressful for a VACATION. Do not recommend Abode.

Liz, we are very sorry to hear your experience with our team was less than perfect. We are currently working on improving our check-in process, to make it much more seamless and convenient for our guests. Also, days leading up to your check-in, there were a lot of technical bugs in our system that led to your application not getting through. We have resolved this issue already. Again, we apologize and we appreciate you taking the time and leaving us a review. It helps us improve on the service that we provide to all our guests. We do hope you would reconsider and give us another chance to make it up to you on a future stay.

As I started to the company Abode I have to say we were not pleased with the customer service of Abode as well as the management of Metr67. As my pervious email stated there were many concerns with the apartment. My initial email was responded to in a prompt manner yet only on words and not in actions, which was quite shocking. I previous stated about the conditions of the place in the at the huge picture mirro was just leaning against the entry wall, not attached and a complete hazard, the kitchen cabinets were completed dirty and the grease built up on the stove burners was a fire hazard as well unable to use. We tríele don’t know who you use for your cleaning company. Lastly, you rent out a place with torn furniture and a broke kitchen table chair. We are lucky that my husband realized prior to my husband sitting on it when he pulled out the chair. I can only imagine what would have happened if he did sit on it, my worst nightmare a head injury. How can one rent out such a place that lacks safety and cleanliness. So when I sent that initially email and the response was that you would contact manager and housekeeping, I as the customer actually thought you meant it, for each morning I saw the housekeeping cleaning the foyer area and the management office was open as well, but to my surprise and anger you did not hold up to your word. I even did you the favor of taking the pictures, but yet nothing on your end. How can one rent out a place that lacks cleanliness and safety!

Property in need of better upkeep

This is a perfectly adequate apartment in a nice building and great location. What kept it from feeling comfortable and being a property I'd rent again was the overall upkeep. Two things were disappointing: 1) the thoroughness of the cleaning (thick dust on blinds, dirt and hair in one of the beds) and 2) noticeable wear and tear throughout the property. With proper care and attention to detail, this could be a great place to stay.

Justin, thank you for taking the time and leaving a review for us. We are extremely disheartened that your stay was less than perfect. This is really out of the norm for us as we are very stringent when it comes to cleaning especially in light with the current pandemic. We will be checking on this closely as to what transpired and what we have missed on our end.

Highly recommend

Clean, beautifully kept. The living room rug needs to taped back down on the corners. Trip hazard. HOWEVER the place was just as expected. Close to everything. Don't need to drive anywhere if you don't want. We would highly recommend!
