Live the lake life! Fish, kayak & boating with nearby ORV & snowmobile trails!

Enjoy the amazing views of School Section Lake hidden in Oceana county! Surrounded by nature in a rural area on a 190 acre all sports lake. Spend quality family time while enjoying all of the lake fun: fishing, kayaking, boating right from our backyard. There are nearby snowmobile trails in the winter or ORV trails for your machines. The Pere Marquette river is just down the road if you want to try kayaking down the river and head to Pentwater, Ludington, Baldwin or Silver Lake for any day trips.

The Lake house has four bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms with room for 8 or for 2 families! The home is complete with a full kitchen, dishwasher, washer, dryer, TV, grill and more. Dining area has seating for 6, main living room has reclining, sectional couch and roku equipped TV. The lower level has a rec room with air hockey and games for the kids.
So come spend the day out on the lake or ride the ORV trails, then relax in front of the fire pit and play some cornhole. Enjoy your morning coffee sitting on the deck taking in the amazing view and then venture out onto the dock and throw a line in. In the winter-- head out to the snowmobile trails or spend the day ice fishing! So much fun to be had!

House rules:
We are in a quiet neighborhood within a home association means which means no parties and no loud, outside gatherings after 11 PM. *Strictly enforced!*
*no smoking
*no pets or animals
*no fireworks or candles
*ring doorbell present at main entrance which records video and audio
*NoiseAware technology in place

*RENTING:
*Throughout peak-season of June through August: there is a 4 night minimum stay.
*During off-season there is a 2 night minimum.
*All linens provided.
*Extra cleaning precautions are in place.
*Dock is available for seasonal use- dependent on weather -May to October.
*The lake has some restrictions as well and details will be provided when requested.
*Names and ages of all guests will be required before booking is approved.
*No 3rd party bookings allowed.
*Max of 8 guests-- additional guests need to be approved and an extra charge will apply.
*Must be 25 or older and provide valid ID

Beautiful Cottage on the Perfect Lake

Mary was excellent to work with. We booked this on short notice and everything worked out wonderfully. The cottage was even better than expected. We had plenty of room and very warm sunny weather. I would buy this place if it was for sale. It was the absolute perfect long weekend outing with our adult children.

Summer Retreat

Beautiful property with wonderful lake view in a very quiet setting. My family I enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board and evening card games on the deck overlooking the lake. The host was very responsive and provided some great suggestions for local restaurants and attractions. Would highly recommend!

Great house and beautiful water! We loved being able to walk down to the dock and let the kids swim and play. Coffee on the deck in the morning, listening to the birds and enjoying the view was a great way to start the day!

It was an absolute pleasure to spend the week at this beautiful, clean and comfortable lake house. Kitchen had everything we needed to make breakfasts and dinners each day. Appreciated having the single and carafe coffee maker combo. Enjoyed sitting out on the spacious deck watching the sunrise over the lake each morning with my morning cup. Beds were very comfortable for a great nights sleep. Took full advantage of the available kayaks and paddle boards. We enjoyed the lake every day. Because our experience here was so wonderful, we plan to return to this SS Lake House again next year.

Visiting for memorial

We all came in for a family memorial on the lake and the house didnt disappoint. Very clean and well maintained. Check in was simple and easy. Might try and stay again sometime.

Pure Michigan lakefront

We had to cancel/shift our dates from Aug to post Labor day but Mary made it easy and we still had spectacular weather to enjoy the house, lake and surroundings. Water was warm enough still to swim (and kayak around the small lake--nice to to have those available in garage along with a nicely working gas BBQ). Deck and fire pit allowed great star viewing. Kitchen nicely supplied. 30 minutes to lake michigan and most other stuff but we were fine with that remoteness. Lake ringed by houses so it wasn't devoid of people but still quiet (pre-Labor day may have been busier). Would recommend highly depending on group you have-- less suited for 4 couples than 2 couples with kids/solo adults given bed options (2 rooms with bunk beds). We love biking on rail trails in region.

Long Weekend Getaway

4 couples on a long weekend get away. This is our sixth consecutive year doing this, and by far our favorite VRBO! Beautiful setting and great home. Owner very responsive!!

Amazing week!

Our group consisted of four adults and four teenagers. Plenty of space for everyone to spend time together or spend time alone. The cottage was fully stocked with just about anything one could want. Just bring your clothes and food! The temps were near 90 degrees all week so most of the time was spent outside enjoying sitting on the deck overlooking the lake, swimming, cookouts, s'mores by the fire pit, fishing.....We look forward to returning!

A delightful Week on School Section Lake

We had a delightful week. There was something for everyone in our family - fishing, kayaking, paddleboat, reading, resting, wildlife watching and so on. The kitchen was well arranged to accommodate all our cooking. There was plenty of room to spread out and relax. The beds were wonderful, especially the memory foam king bed! Thanks to Mary and Andy for sharing their home.

The house was awesome. We had 6 people and we all had our own space. The house is well-equipped and very clean. There are a lot of rules but that makes the lake very peaceful and quiet. We did have the refrigerator go out but they replaced it the same day. They are very responsive. We rented a tritoon from Charlies Marina in Pentwater delivered the boat and made the trip with tubing. The paddle boards were a favorite as there is quiet times with no wake and it was so relaxing to go around the lake. The only negatives were that we didn't catch many fish and things are far out so be prepared to drive if you want to go out to dinner or need supplies. Overall though a great place!

Wonderful for a relaxing getaway

This house and lakefront are even better than they appear in the listing. I was wondering if our group of seven would feel a little cramped in the house but it turned out that the living area on the main floor felt quite spacious, and having a second tv/game room on the lower level as well as a very nice deck (there are two decks but we didn't even use the lower one) made it very easy for everyone to feel they had plenty of room. The bedrooms were comfortable and the lake was gorgeous, had pleasantly warm water, and was a delight to swim and paddle board in. We would have loved for it to be about 15-20 minutes closer to a town with restaurants, an ice cream parlor, etc., which is the reason we gave it only 4 stars for location, but it wasn't a big problem at all and we would happily stay here again. The host was kind and easy to communicate with. She responded to us promptly when we had questions and the check in and check out process was clear and easy.

Family vacation

The accommodations were very clean and comfortable, well laid out for six adults. We had every amenity needed for a fun and relaxing vacation. Communication with property manager was prompt and reliable. Our family had a wonderful visit!

The Lake House

I can't say enough about our stay at the Lake House! My family and our Family Friends absolutely loved it! It was perfect! There is so much space as well as privacy. Everyone slept great too! The Lake House has a beautiful view overlooking the Lake. We sat on the deck eating and relaxing every chance we had. The home was so welcoming and clean, just like our homes! I just loved communicating with Mary. We were blessed to find such a wonderful and caring Homeowner! We are grateful for our stay! Our memories of the kids on the lake, the laughs we shared, and the relaxing stay we had we will cherish that forever! Thank you Mary.

Beautiful Lakefront

This property was perfect for an adult family getaway. Lake views were stunning, house was perfect for 8 adults, close to trails for riding and fire pit was perfect for bonfires. Hosts were very friendly and easy to work with. We would definitely recommend and hope to return!

My family and I have stayed at many properties before and this has been our favorite. It was clean and everything was as described. Great place and quiet lake

The place was as described and the lake was beautiful. Don’t let all the rules scare you from this place. Just treat it like you would your own house. Enjoyed a wonderful week at on the lake. Would definitely come back here again.

Great vacation spot

We had a fun and relaxing week at this rental. The teens fished, golfed, kayaked, used the pedal boat, and swam. We also rented a pontoon boat from a company in Crystal Lake for the week, which was affordable but the drop off/pickup cost was expensive. Well worth it though. We drove to Ludington Beach one day and it was gorgeous and the ice cream shop in town was delicious. House is the cleanest we have ever rented, lots of space for teens and parents, and very nice neighbors. The owners are very responsive and welcoming and helpful. We highly recommend!

We'll be back

This property is JUST as it is described! Many reviews mentioned that there were so many rules. Most of the perceived rules were more common courtesies and guidelines for protecting the integrity of the septic system for those that may not be familiar. It is a very quiet location and we had no problem with the request to be minimize noise after 10:00. The house is very comfortable and well appointed. The lake is super clean, the beach is sandy and the water was warm. Sunrises were perfect from the top deck and we enjoyed meals outside as well. Mary was very welcoming and touched base after our first night to see if we had any questions. She was very responsive to communication. We may return next year once we finalize our vacation plans and if the house is available. If this property fits your schedule, don't hesitate to book!

Lake get away

The property was beautiful and so relaxing. The fishing was great and our kids had a great time swimming and kayaking. It was a short drive to Lake Michigan and Pentwater. We will be staying again!

Beautiful Place!

This is a very nice, spacious, cottage with plenty of amenities. The beds are comfortable. The view of the lake is lovely. Overall our experience was great. The only thing to be aware of is that there are a lot of rules. It didn't end up being a problem for us, just read carefully so you know what to expect.

Great spot!

Our family stayed here in July. We have kids aged 11, 8, and 5, and this was a great spot for our kids. We appreciated the cleanliness of the cottage and the lake. My wife grew up going to a similarly sized lake, so this was perfect. We had a great time on the water. The neighborhood was quiet, which was great since no one kept our kids awake at night. Having laundry in the cottage was really nice too. In short, we had a great time at the cottage, and we had fun travelling to areas close by. It was a great spot for a relaxing vacation.
