We just returned from an incredible stay at Wayne and Lisa’s house in Bay Roberts. The property was gorgeous and spotless (perfect for a clean freak like me.) The house was exactly as it appears in the listing, and honestly the pictures don’t do it justice. The views were breathtaking…my Aunt spent hours watching birds and boats…and those sunrises over the ocean!! The kitchen had every kind of coffee maker (Keurig, espresso, pour over, regular drip) and aby appliance you could might need. We cooked lobster, cod cheeks, barbecued, and ate every meal at the kitchen table surrounded by windows looking out at the ocean. We didn’t even bother with restaurants because it was so perfect.Groceries were easy. I used the Instacart app and ordered our groceries from the plane…they were delivered in time for our arrival, but I didn’t even need to as the town has all of stores you would need.The house was the perfect base for day trips. We visited Carbonear, Bishop’s Cove, Greenpoint Lighthouse, Harbour Grace, Freshwater, Port de Grave…one morning we got up early, filled the travel mugs (they had them in the kitchen!) with coffee, and drove to Cape Spear for the sunrise. On the way back we explored Quidi Vidi Village, Signal Hill, Jelly Bean Row, and did some shopping in downtown St. John’s.Bottom Line: This spectacular house has all the luxuries and comforts of home in a setting that was pure Newfoundland magic.
