BEAUTIFUL LOG CABIN NEAR NEW RIVER HIKING STARGAZING WIFI NICE COUPLES RETREAT

Windwalker Cabin is our remote vacation retreat cabin nestled on 20 acres of remote wooded mountainside in the Blue Ridge Mountains, halfway between Boone and West Jefferson. High Speed internet for web surfing and TV streaming. Cabin is located north of Boone near the Historic town of Todd. Check out Toddnc.org for local happenings. We’re only a little over 3 miles from the awesome New River. Cabin located on old gravel road, so please drive slowly. Native trout live in stream that runs near property and Rainbow, Brown and Brook trout are stocked just below the property in the hatchery supported area of Three Top Creek. There are several roadside access locations downstream from property for public fishing. Wildlife is bountiful all around the property. Awesome bird watching too. Beautifully furnished and decorated cabin, with firepit just off porch. Full size refrigerator and stove, with all the utensils you will need. Coffee pot, blender, microwave as well as pots, pans, bowls etc. Stargazing on clear nights is just awesome! Located just over 3 miles from Historic Todd. Just 13 miles from shopping, restaurants, movies etc. in Boone or West Jefferson. Only 24 miles from Blowing Rock. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a short 20 minute drive away. There is Tubing, guided fishing tours, canoeing and kayaking located in and around Todd. This 400 square foot true log cabin with all wood interior is the perfect place for a quaint getaway. Cabin is located on a country gravel road so potholes are normal and speed limit is 10 mph. The driveway for owners house runs past the cabin, so an occasional car will pass by. This is a farm and occasionally a tractor, ATV or other equipment is in use. We also use building near cabin but try hard not to disturb our guests. Sorry no smoking inside. Comfortable cabin with the comforts of home! Clean, welcoming host who was attentive to our needs and checked in with us to make sure we were settled and had everything to enjoy our stay. The unpaved road up to the driveway for the cabin is pretty rough but once you are there it is fabulous and the little town of Todd is adorable!

An excellent base for a fishing trip

Windwalker was a great base for an awesome fishing trip. It was simple but it had everything that we needed to be comfortable when we weren't out in the water. It was very clean and very quiet, and my son and I both really enjoyed the decor. It was practically right next to the areas that we wanted to fish so it was perfect. We even opted to just go back to the cabon during lunch instead of taking lunch with us, since it was so close. I actually can't think of anything that we would have changed!

The property was very nice, the cabin was clean and pretty. Great communication with the owner, The property is perfect location between Boone and West Jefferson, you can get to many points of thr blue ridge parkway within 30 min. Easy check in check out process. Enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful place, just as described!

We had a wonderful stay for 4th of July week. It was clean and had all the basic necessities. We enjoyed using the grill in the back and making bonfires at night. I would love to come back again.

Perfect getaway

We go to the mountains every year at thanksgiving to get our Christmas tree and found this little cabin and it was perfect. The location was beautiful and quiet and not far from Boone. There were plenty of Christmas tree farms around. The cabin and property was pristine. Will definitely go back!

Awesome experience

It was in our price range and just the perfect size. The owners were so so nice in communicating with us after booking and keeping us informed. If we had questions they were answered in less than 30 minutes. Beautiful location, quite and we will return.

Perfect weekend get away!

This cozy cottage is the perfect sucluded get away. It sits on the top of the hill so you’re literally all by yourself. Has a nice outdoor fire pit. The cabin is adorablely decorated too! The owners a kind and responsive. Just bring groceries, the cabin has everything else you’ll need. I would definitely love to come back!

Nice getaway

The cabin is on the smaller side - good for a small family but perfect for the two of us. The campground is close, but you cannot hear anything when inside the cabin, which is really nice. We loved being able to explore in all directions from this location (Boone, Blowing Rock, West Jefferson, Banner Elk). The owners are very quick to respond and they left the lights on for us once they realized we would be arriving in the dark. We would definitely recommend to friends/family!!

Great cabin stay

Cute tidy and clean. We stayed just 3 nights and left on 4th of July. Due to rain we only enjoyed the firepit one night. Cabin was comfortable and had everything you would need. Due to short stay we didnt do any cooking. Would recommend 4 wheel drive for the hill up to the cabin driveway. Good location for all of our activities

Great Get-away!

My husband and I (and our two chihuahuas) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wind Walker Cabin. It was a quiet and peaceful stay and allowed us to "unplug". We used the fire pit every night except one when it rained. Rick and Dana were more than helpful when a minor issue arose, and resolved it as quickly as they could. Would definitely recommend!

Just what the doctor ordered!

It was perfect for our needs -- neat, tidy, remote, well-stocked. It had everything we needed for our meals and our pup was very happy to wander outside, but not too far. The location was great -- accessible to Boone and West Jefferson. And there are innumerable hikes in the area -- of all levels, lengths and types (water, mountains, flat, steep climbs, easy, challenging). The road in is treacherous, though, and we are hoping that can be repaired -- it dampens the experience of returning to our cozy cabin after a beautiful day enjoying Creation.

Nice stay

Nice clean cabin, little hot for July with single box AC unit, would love to stay in fall. Tried to sleep with windows open at night as it was so nice out. Too much music and kids yelling from the Camp Fun across the way. Not our hosts fault at all.

Beautiful setting!!

We loved our stay at this cabin. The property and cabin are lovely--perfect get-away in the mountains. Everything was as represented in the description -- wonderful furnishings and a well-supplied kitchen.Very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the area around the cabin (close to Boone and The Blowing Rock). We all enjoyed it so much that no one wanted to go home! Thank you for sharing your cabin with us! We will definitely be back . Thank you .
