This is our second time at this beautiful cottage. The views of Ottawa river are spectacular as are the sunsets and sunrises. It’s peaceful, relaxing and rejuvenating. We plan to come back again!

The tranquility combined with the natural beauty is jaw dropping. Home is as described. Lots to do in the area. Gatineau Park is a must. Lots of canoeing routes. Bike trails are endless. Truly the best location ever.

Our second year and we thoroughly enjoyed our family time. I highly recommend, very comfortable. Do note there is no tv on the main floor, we happened to be visiting when FIFA was on so we brought our own projector.

We had a fantastic family stay at The Beacon, Anton was always available and super helpful. We enjoyed being in nature, taking advantage of the sauna and simply being together in the perfect family cottage.

A beautiful cottage. Everything we needed for a fall retreat. So comfortable and luxurious. The view of the Ottawa river and the evening sky were just fantastic. We enjoyed access to a beautiful cottage trail and the peace and quiet. We love this place and are planning our return. Many thanks to the host.

Stunning view of the river. Very quiet. A short drive to great Gatineau hikes and picturesque biking on the PPJ trail.The dam trail is adjacent to the property. It is well worth the walk out and back. Use caution to note your bearings on the way out as finding the trail on the way back can be a challenge.Kitchen is very well stocked with tableware, baking and cookware. We especially appreciated having sharp knives and plenty of cutting boards. Stainless steel pots and silicone utensils make food prep safe for those who have food allergies. The Miele dishwasher and large selection of dish towels made it easy to keep the kitchen clean.We saw wild turkeys, porcupine, frogs, deer, Canada geese, hummingbirds, a blue heron and many other types of birds, all right on the property!We enjoyed use of the red canoe and kayaks. Note that the yellow kayak is only suitable for children or smaller adults. There is a selection of PFDs in various sizes.Outdoor firepit is sandy and safe and can accommodate many people. There are plenty of campfire roasting sticks for marshmallows and weiners and the firewood is well-organized and dry.The entire grounds and cottage are clean and very well maintained; an obviously well-loved family cottage. Thank you Anton and Karine for sharing your family's cottage. We hope to return next summer!

Canadian dream house. This was a perfect house for our active family of four adults and two children (9 and 13). The location is fabulous in a very peaceful and private large garden on a bluff on a quiet area off the Ottawa River. It is within a reasonable distance of Ottawa, Gatineau Park and other activities and beaches. It is close to the Quyon cross river ferry which was very useful. It is a house that is loved and regularly visited by the owning family so it is extremely well equipped and thought out. The beach, dock, kayaks, canoes and the boating / safety equipment are in good condition. The house is very well equipped with overhead fans and comfortable beds. The bedroom storage was more than sufficient. The owners have thought of everything. They were most helpful and informative and our family party of six felt welcome and very happy at this house. Thank you to Anton and Karine for letting us stay in their gorgeous house!
