Lake house located in a quiet slew on Lewis Smith Lake (Smith Lake) in Jasper, AL 5 minutes from Duncan Bridge and Arley, AL.

Come stay for a vacation home getaway with all the comforts of home plus fishing, grilling with family or friends, and playing in the sun! Large deck for the views and relaxing. Includes pier/ boat dock. 2BD 2BA - 1 King and 1 queen bed. Living room includes big screen tv with video streaming apps. Home offers all standard appliances including washer and dryer.

Lower boat traffic through the Smith Lake channel tunnel to the property adds for a safer swimming area than the main body of the lake. Property is located 1 or 2 minutes from Duncan Bridge Marina by vehicle or about 5 to 10 by water. Evanā€™s Marina is located in the same slew as this property. Check with Duncan, Squirrels, and Evanā€™s Marina for pontoon boat rentals and boat launch.

Great cellphone service for AT&T and Verizon. Has WIFI high speed internet.

Most boats and all personal watercraft fit through the Smith Lake tunnel for Curry Hwy however, we would suggest not booking and asking first if you have a boat with a tall non foldable rack. There is year round deep (approximately 30 ft) water in the slew. The tunnel itself has markers on the side placed by water patrol to let you know the depth. Happy to answer any questions and give tips for those that worry. We have been going through in our Glastron ski boat, pontoon boat, and Chris Craft ski boat for years.

There were several safety issues. Dock railing not attached. Uneven walkway to dock. Chickens cats dogs hanging around patio. Grill really dirty. Lamps in living area unsafe. Dishwasher racks not stable. Kitchen garbage can nasty.

The owners were some of the easiest people to work with- extremely accommodating-beautiful cabin and dock! The neighbors pets were slightly intrusive-but the owners were very helpful!

We had a nice relaxing weekend. Only issue was the neighbors dogs constantly roamed so be mindful if traveling with pets that have any kind of reactivity to other dogs or cats. The home was just as listed and would book again.

Quiet waterway, but close to the main lake.

The house and property is really comfortable and functional. The screened-in porch, decks and floating dock are true highlights.Note however, that the driveway and walkway are on a steep incline. It was tricky to pull in and out of with a boat/trailer. The only level spot is up at the road, but I parked the empty trailer on the driveway loop for security. The lower parking spot is close to the door and saved is from walking up and down to the loop. Shady, too.My 18 ft ski boat fit through the tunnel nicely. It has a 7 ft beam, 3ft draft and the folded bimini is about 7 or 8 feet above the waterline. The tunnel had 4 ft of water when we were here in early July 2025.I actually enjoyed the challenge and uniqueness of the tunnel passage. The reward is being on a secluded slough, away from noise and wakes. We put in at Duncan Bridge Marina for 10 each visit. Great ramp. Nice marina with a gas dock and super friendly staff.We had a fantastic vacation here and are likely to make a habit of it.

Great Views, Nice Place

We had a wonderful and relaxing time. The property is well-maintained and nicely decorated. We both loved the screened-in back porch. We appreciated having two bathrooms and a washer/dryer. There is a lot of deck space leading up to and located on the water. My only complaint is the gas grill. It hasn't been cleaned in a while. There was also no propane.

Charming Cottage

The cottage was nicely decorated, comfortable sofas and bed, nice shower. You can tell the host tried to think of everything to make your stay enjoyable. I love the screened porch. Outdoors was very steep on all sides (Driveway, front walkway and decent down to the lake in the back.

Nice house on the lake

The house on the lake was as described. It was very comfortable and nicely decorated. It had everything needed for a long weekend getaway. Cons: Although not the owner's fault: The driveway and property are on a very steep incline. On our vehicle we have a camera that gives us a front view also I am glad we had that pulling in a few times because of the angle it was hard to judge where you were at. We brought our dogs (we were there for a dog show) and it was very difficult to take them out sometimes to go potty because there were two "neighborhood" large dogs that kept coming over and barking at them. I was afraid they would fight so I would take mine back inside and wait until no sight of the "neighborhood" dogs. But other than that, my 2 boys wore themselves out swimming in the lake.

Cottage

We really enjoyed the historic sites in Jasper, and was close enough to enjoy Cullman. The home was a cozy two bedroom cottage. The only thing was missing was a table we could eat together and play games. I would suggest getting a card table with 4 chairs which can be folded up for space. We had a good time and enjoyed exploring the area.

Unsatisfactory rental

This property is dangerous due to the severe driveway. The driveway was covered in acorns and gravel when we arrived. We had to work over an hour to get a pathway to get in the house. There is no inside table to enjoy a meal together. The beds are old and warm out as is the sofas in the tv room. Refrigerator is old with rust in the freezer. The dock is unusable for boating. This place is only worth maybe $50 a night. I was given a number to call that was the x huusband of the owner. He explained he was no longer responsible because of the divorce and why was I calling him????? I want half of my money returned. Worst rental I have ever rented. I hurt my knee walking to the house se when we arrived! Please advise about my refund.

Good location/beautiful Lake

The location is good, lake is beautiful. The house could have been a little cleaner. The full bed needs replaced , 2 people end up like a taco. Also for anyone bringing reactive dogs beware there is a very sweet but annoying dog that lives next door that roams around unleashed. That said it is the perfect location, the lake is beautiful and quiet. The screen in porch was wonderful.

Nice property for short getaway

The house was a perfect spot for our short family weekend getaway. The kitchen came equipped with everything we needed. The screened-in porch was great during those rainy afternoon showers. We brought a blow up mattress for our fifth person and there was plenty of room for it in the living room (we brought our own blankets and sheets for this). Hosts were quick to respond to any questions we had. The towels were a little mildew smelling but nothing a little white vinegar couldnā€™t fix. Great time and hope to come back again!

Checking it out

The house was very clean and well put together. The driveway is especially steep. Its a semicircle driveway which makes it easier to navigate the parking, but note... if you are towing a boat or trailer, there's room in the driveway to park, but getting out is a little scary depending on your driving skills and type of vehicle. Best if you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle. We do not. If we had it to do over, we'd park the boat on the gravel at the top of the property.

My best friends grandfather built this home for his family to enjoy and my grandparents purchased the home in 1999. I have grown up on this lake in this vacation home with so many beautiful memories. Fishing, digging up our own worms, boating, tubing, roasting marsh mellows, catching frogs & fire flies, bbq'ing with loved ones, music, laying in the sun, reading good books with the peace and quite, jumping straight off the pier, and falling asleep heavy. This is the place I have made some of my best memories. Now my husband, Robert and I can share these same memories with our son and two daughters. My husband (office manager of a firm) and I (business owner) are hard workers with a lot of responsibilities. This is our getaway and we would not have it any other way. We hope this vacation home is the same lasting memories for all of our guests.

There is no question as to why Lewis Smith Lake in our minds. The lake is beautiful and clean. One of the cleanest lakes in America. Why this property... besides the memories, it is quite. The lake is blowing up with new homes, condo's, construction, etc. Slew's are the best! Always have been to me but this one is a little extra slice of remote.
