Our approx. 95 m2 apartment in the entire upper floor of a house newly built in 2012 is cozy, spacious, very bright and clean and can accommodate max. Accommodate 6 people.

The apartment is ideal for:
People and families who want a beautiful apartment with lots of space and light in a prime central location in a lively, lively resort with all the amenities of everyday life and the Untersee with a café, swimming and ferry connections to destinations on the entire Untersee in the immediate vicinity.

The apartment is only conditionally suitable for:
People who are looking for seclusion and absolute silence.


In the immediate vicinity (a few meters to 100 m) are:
Ice cream parlor / pizzeria, bar, art shops, bus stops in front of the house, bakery, pharmacy, drugstore, several restaurants, savings bank with ATM, a high school, a church with a church tower, the local town house, the famous castle boarding school Gaienhofen.


Within easy walking distance (150-300m) are:
The lake with a bathing beach (gravel, approx. 150-200 m, unsupervised), riverside park, well-kept new, larger children's playground with plenty of space, an attractive cafe with small dishes and sun roof right on the water, ferry and yacht pier, directly adjacent nature and bird sanctuary with riverside and reed trails, a well-stocked medium-sized supermarket with regional products, post office, drinks market, medical practices (general and dentistry), local tourism and information office.
A Lidl and an Edeka market with a drinks market are around 8 km away.


Nearby cultural attractions:
Our apartment is almost exactly the same distance between the two famous former residential buildings Hermann Hesses in Gaienhofen and the Herrmann Hesse-Höri Museum (easy walking distance, approx. 200 m each). Hesse is the world's most widely read German-language author.
Also nearby (about 2 km in the neighboring town of Hemmenhofen) is the long-standing living and studio house of the famous German painter Otto Dix, who found asylum here on the Höri during the Nazi era and stayed there afterwards. Because of these two international heavyweights, the Höri peninsula is famous far beyond the region as an 'artist peninsula', but also houses and hosts other important artists such as. B. Paul Klee and rightly carries this name.


The region and the town of Gaienhofen: Leisure activities in the area and excursion destinations:
The Untersee region is a first-class German holiday region, offers numerous attractions and is strategically cheaper than the 'large' Lake Constance (closer to Switzerland, the Alps, the Black Forest and destinations such as Mainau etc. on the large lake). You are in a very pleasant central position and can make comfortable day trips to nearby Switzerland with many beautiful destinations such as Stein am Rhein (10 minutes), Schaffhausen with the Rhine Falls (30 minutes), Zurich and Basel (1 and 1.5 hours) , the Alps (1, 5 - 2 h), as well as the destinations on Lake Constance such as Mainau, Reichenau, Meersburg, Überlingen etc. and other nearby excursion destinations such as the southern Black Forest and the volcanic landscape of the Hegau!
Gaienhofen is a lively, lively and culturally significant holiday resort on the Höri peninsula on Lake Constance-Untersee, 'diagonally opposite' the World Heritage island of Reichenau and exactly opposite the Swiss bank and the town of Steckborn. The infrastructure is excellent and very suitable for families and guests, for whom a good infrastructure and the related comfort is important. Gaienhofen is one of the main holiday resorts on the Höri peninsula.

Self-catering, non-smoking (smoking on the balcony possible). Pets and garden use unfortunately not possible. Towels (large and small) and bed linen are provided. (1 set per person).

We liked the extremely tastefully and functionally furnished apartment - a highlight - very well. We felt comfortable here right from the start and, despite the typical November weather, had a relaxing week with nice trips and culinary friends.
