Comfortable Winter Retreat with Fireplace ~ Pet-Friendly ~ Arcade Games

The Treetop Farmhouse is a family friendly log cabin with rustic charm, modest updates and a spacious floor plan. Relax on the front porch swing overlooking color changing leaves with seasonal mountian views. The house is nestled away in nature but less than 10 minutes to Sugar Mountian slopes and Downtown Banner Elk area.

The main house living space is one story with kitchen/dining combo, separate living room with wood burning fireplace, and three bedrooms. Living room has reclining massage chairs and comfortable leather sofa, PLUS standing 2-person Arcade Game Center with 200+ games. The bedrooms share one full bathroom, while a half bath is located off the kitchen. Downstairs, guests have access to Samsung HE washer and dryer laundry area.

The yard is large (1 acre) and very private. There is a back deck off the dining room where deer and turkey are abundantly seen. Corn hole and yard games on site. Propane grill for cooking and wood burning outdoor fit pit.

Bedding, towels, basic toiletries and dish/laundry soap included. Pack & play with sheets on-site.

The home has baseboard heat and fireplace for winter warmth. All windows have been updated to double pane and come with screens, fans in bedrooms and living room.

FREE High speed internet included. TV has basic channels, NETFlix and Blu-Ray/DVD Player. HDMI cable on-site for streaming your personal device. ROKU in Master Bedroom.

**Please note there is an additional one-bedroom rental unit downstairs that is currently vacant and being renovated. Rentals may occur on the lower unit anytime after February 2025.**

Beautiful house Great location

Secluded cabin

Great little place tucked away in the hills. Kitchen was barely stocked but we made it work. Fireplace was great to warm up after a day in the snow!! Thanks for having us.

Great winter weekend trip

The house was exactly as listed. It is older, but well cared for. It was clean and spacious, and conveniently located near winter activities. My kids LOVED the video games and large yard. We enjoyed our stay and would rent here again

Great place for NC skiing access

Minutes from report parking lots, easy access to Bammer Elk restaurants. I would not plan to cook gourmet meals but it has the basics to support breakfast and packing lunches for skiing/hiking.

Great location

House is in great location, in between sugar mountain and beech mountain. We skied at both resorts which were 10 mins drive. House was clean, I had couple questions during our stay and Sherri was responding within mins. We had great time!

GREAT PLACE FOR A FAMILY SKI GETAWAY!

We had a great stay at this Mountain Retreat! It was perfect for our family and very close to both Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain for skiing. The beds were comfortable and the house was very clean. Our kids loved the arcade machine. Sherri was a great hostess. She answered our questions and responded quickly. We would definitely stay here again!

Affordable, Fun Ski Weekend with Kids

This cozy cabin was perfect for our group of 2 adults and 3 kids! We were there to ski at Beech Mountain for 2 days, and the cabin was an easy driving distance + great to come home to relax in after skiing. The kids loved the video game machine and massage chairs. We would like to come back in warmer weather to explore more of the property.

Clean & convenient property!

I’ve stayed at many rental properties and this is by far, the cleanest I’ve seen. Beds were comfortable & everything we needed was available inside the rental. Property is conveniently located to downtown Banner Elk, Alpine Coaster & Sugar Mountain. I liked that the roads leading up to the property weren’t too steep with cliffs on the sides like other mountain rentals we stayed at. The check-in process was easy & the owner was very responsive to any questions I had.

Great place for one or two families

It’s a great location in the middle of the woods on the mountains. Very clean, comfortable and well supplied interiors. Not completely isolated, yet has the privacy one would like. If you think you might reach after dark (like we did), communicate with the hosts to know properly how to locate the house and get in. Had a small hiccup there, otherwise everything was smooth. A 2nd full bath room would have been great for 2 families. The hosts are readily available on VRBO messaging and phone. Will definitely consider revisiting.

Not as clean as previously rated

Oven and stove burners were dirty with caked on food and crumbs from previous meals, freezer was so full we didn’t have room for the food we brought, opened bags of chips on the counter and something that looked like pills that my children found strewn in their dresser drawers. Homeowner’s car was parked in the driveway so we couldn’t park on the flat area and with the snow couldn’t park on the incline. Overall not the clean and confortable place we’d hoped for.

Awesome All-around Getaway!

Planned a surprise last minute getaway for the wife and kids, and so glad we chose this house. Sherri was a great host and very responsive to any questions I had. House was super clean, and had everything you need for your stay, especially in the kitchen. Besides your own food and spices, you have everything you need to cook and entertain. Big living room with a large fireplace and great little front porch with rockers. Kids loved the arcade game and sledding down the leaves! Beds were super comfy, and there were tons of games and movies to use. Nice little deck out back with a propane grill and wood fire pit. Perfect location just a few blocks to Banner Elk and close to every spot in the area (Linville Falls, Blowing Rock, Boone, Beech, Sugar, etc). Cell service is great at the house. Outside at night, you couldn't hear a thing, which is just what I wanted - close enough to everything but far away from the hustle and bustle of the real world! One thing I would recommend for anyone else is to bring a few fire starter logs. Sherri has tons of firewood for guests, but I did notice some pieces weren't as dry as others and took some work to get a fire going (especially outside). Not so much a problem inside. This isn't a gripe at all, but more just a heads up so you'll be able to get a fire going quick without having so much smoke in the beginning. I had a box of fire starter cubes which worked okay, but I should have brought some fire starter logs, so it's more of a planning issue on my part. But once the fires were going, you definitely aren't running out of wood (there are stacks all over the property)! Thanks Sherri! We'll be back!!

Great hidden gem

Exactly what we needed; my only regret is that we could only stay two nights but that's on us. :) Absolutely beautiful area. Kids loved the arcade game and I loved the porch... Sherri was very quick on responding to any question I had. No hesitation recommending it if you need a simple, peaceful escape.

Comfy place with everything we needed

Came for a ski weekend with 6 friends. House was very clean and close to both downtown and the ski mountain. The house had everything we needed for a good time - cookware to make meals, a fire pit for hanging out, and a tv with all the apps for winding down. Check in was easy and Sherri was super responsive, answering all our questions in real time. Definitely hoping to come back!

Weekend getaway

Snow Trip

We stayed in this cabin so our FL raised kids could see snow. We loved it! We got a ton of snow and our kids were sledding down the driveway. The cabin is at the end of a small neighborhood and we got daily visits from deer and enjoyed the views. Due to a heavy snowstorm we were unable to leave when planned and our host worked with us to stay the extra night. We made great memories as a family! We will definitely come back.

Wonderful stay - just perfect for us

Wonderful sums up our stay. Our children wanted snow for Christmas. We managed to find this house and everything seemed to fall into place. With Sherri’s suggestions, we found a tubing place nearby. Our little ones loved the video games and the basket of blocks in one of the closets was a a huge hit! The kitchen was well stocked and we even played a Christmas trivia game that was in the kitchen table. If you’re thinking of booking this place, I highly recommend doing so. We were not disappointed and look forward to staying here again when we return for our next mountain adventure.

Quiet Banner Elk getaway

Nice property for a family getaway! Town is 10 mins away. Sherri, the owner, was very responsive and helpful. I would stay here again.
