Thank you for your feedback, Valerie. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the cottage and pool, and that you found the home and grounds clean and well maintained. We did want to clarify a few of the points mentioned. Prior to check-in, we reached out to let you know that if you experienced any issues with the pool or hot tub during your stay, to please contact us so we could address them right away. Unfortunately, we weren’t made aware of any concerns during your stay. We’ve checked the hot tub and found that the water circulation button had been turned off. This meant the water was sitting rather than circulating properly, causing the chemicals to remain on the surface and create the milky appearance you described. Once the circulation was turned back on, the issue was resolved. We also checked the pool toys and found two broken items that had been left behind by previous guests. These aren’t amenities we provide, but we have since removed and disposed of the damaged ones. Thank you for bringing that to our attention, and we appreciate your suggestion of adding additional outdoor games beyond the pool and hot tub. Regarding the lake, our listing does not describe the shoreline as a beach. The shoreline is rocky and becomes sandy once you walk out into the lake. We also recommend water shoes in our welcome guide and provide suggestions for nearby spots with traditional beach access. We’ve double-checked our current listing photos and don’t see an outdoor dining set shown on the back deck or one on the front porch. We do appreciate you bringing the condition of the fire pit to our attention. It is still usable, but we were unaware of the condition of the bottom and will be addressing it. For guests who prefer a full-size bathtub, the ensuite bathroom does have a full tub in addition to the smaller tub mentioned in the review. We’re especially happy to hear you enjoyed the kitchen, bedrooms, quality towels, and that our team was responsive whenever you reached out. We do want to clarify a few things regarding the outdoor area. Both the pool and hot tub are regularly tested and treated, and when we were at the property on the day of your arrival, the pool was clear and the hot tub was hot and clear. Unfortunately, the combination of heavy rain and very warm weather can change pool conditions quite quickly. As soon as you let us know about the pool, we came out right away to address it and add the necessary treatment. We weren’t made aware during your stay that the hot tub was not reaching temperature. Had we known, we absolutely would have come by to take a look at it as well. The lawn had also been cut just a few days before your arrival. With the amount of rain we had around your stay, further yard maintenance unfortunately wasn’t possible, but we’re glad to hear it was only the areas along the fence lines that you felt needed some additional attention. We also appreciate your suggestions regarding games, a hair dryer and the living room seating. Feedback like this helps us identify the little things we can add or improve for future guests. We did want to clarify a couple of points for future guests reading this review. Our exterior security cameras are in place for security purposes and to verify guest count and any pets on the property that have not been registered. The camera referenced was moved away from the backyard for the duration of your stay to ensure your privacy while enjoying the outdoor amenities. As we are often booked back to back, necessary services and deliveries occasionally need to be scheduled on checkout days to prepare the property for incoming guests. The water delivery at 9:45 a.m. was not intended to rush your departure in any way, and guests are always welcome to enjoy the property until the scheduled 11:00 a.m. checkout time. We appreciate you staying with us and are happy to hear you enjoyed the home and its amenities.
