It's a very nice property in a really great location. Easy to find and access. There's a full kitchen and coffee bar. We do wish it was more clearly stated that there was no A/C on the property before booking but there were plenty of fans provided and it cooled down enough at night that it was only an issue the first night. Overall, we had a great stay and the kids loved the trampoline.

House was great, very well stocked , nice and roomy for us and comfortable, bed on main level is very comfortable ( although itā€™s tall) Kitchen was nice - loads of extras! The yard, surrounding area and views were awesome! House is close to all the main attractions that we wanted to go visit and a mile to Custer, which is a cute little town! ( my only minor complaints would be the road noise as it sits off a major road, thereā€™s no AC and no fenced in yard for those traveling with dogs)

Amazing place! Couldnā€™t ask for a better location. House was fully stocked. Really felt like a home away from home. We loved the yard, deck, and grill to name a few things.

Property was a great location for what our family did while in the area. It was slightly hot and no air conditioning but the basement was cooler. Fans were provided that clearly helped! The deck was a great place to sit and relax after fun-filled days. The traffic noise really wasnā€™t that bad as others have mentioned. We appreciated all the utensils in the kitchen and having use of a washer/dryer with 4 kids was awesome! Communication with the owner was top notch!

Beautiful property! Well taken care of and clean. The host was easy to work with and very accommodating. The only reason it is not 5 stars is the road noise. The road noise is very loud and there is a significant amount of traffic.

Great location, terrific house

We enjoyed this house as a stopping spot for our drives to Sylvan Lake, Custer SP, Rapid City, and the surrounding area monuments. It is well-kept & stocked and slept 6 of us comfortably. I loved the huge deck! At one point there was a hailstorm followed by a rainbow... the view was incredible. The owner is very responsive. One thing to note: there is no AC, so upstairs got a little warm in the afternoons, but for us Texans it was not bad. All rooms have fans and by 8:30 PM the rooms cooled down with the windows open. The basement stayed nice and cool, and also has an air hockey table where we had family tournament every night. There's a trampoline out front so the kids had a blast. Overall, this is a great home and we would stay here again.

Beautiful property!

This was a great house with a great location. It does sit right on a pretty busy highway, so there was some traffic noise, but the location to Custer (2 minutes) and the property outweighed that. We watched the July 4th fireworks from one of the rock formations behind the house and it was fabulous. We had a great time exploring the backyard and enjoying the views. The house had everything we needed and was a great home base for our trip that included Custer SP, Wind Cave and Jewel Cave, plus a dinner trip to Hill City.

Cozy Custer Home

Home is extremely comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit on the front deck at night. My dog loved the open space of the yard. The house is fully stocked of everything you would need on vacation. Town is right around the corner and itā€™s only 20-30 minutes from all the attractions.

Nice property

Was able to check in a little early since our drive out went better than expected with two boys under two. Nice size cabin with a spacious yard. Not very kid friendly but we made it work. Had a blast and made lots of memories.

Great stay!

This house was perfect for our stay with extended family. There are 3 levels so each couple had private space as well as community space on the main level. Be aware that there are only 2 working bathrooms at this time. The kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of towels. Location was convenient to town of Custer and Custer State Park.

Location, Location, Location

My group enjoyed our 8-night stay in this property, which is centrally located in Custer as a great home base for exploring the Black Hills. The host was gracious and accommodating and easy to work with. We had easy access to Custer State Park, Jewel Cave National Monument, Wind Cave National Park, Crazy Horse, and Mount Rushmore each within a 25 minute drive (or less). We also made day trips out to Devil's Tower National Monument and Deadwood, which took longer but were certainly still doable if planned for. The kitchen was well-stocked, which is something we appreciated as we cooked most of our meals ourselves there on the property. The kids had a great time exploring the grounds and using the trampoline and air hockey table. For clarification, the layout of the home is a little unorthodox. There is one bedroom in the basement, which being below ground does a good job of staying cool. It is adjacent to a bathroom that was closed for renovation during the time we were there. If access to a third bathroom is important to you, you should seek clarification from the host as to the status of the basement bathroom. The laundry room and the game room/den are also in the basement. On the main floor is where you'll find the master bedroom and bathroom, the kitchen and pantry, the entry hall/coffee service area, the dining room, and the main living room. The unorthodox layout of the place is mostly about the upstairs floor. There is a bathroom at the top of the landing, and on either side of that is a bedroom that is open loft style, meaning that the upstairs bedrooms each have one upper wall that opens up onto the living room below. While each of these loft bedrooms have their own doors that can be closed on the second floor landing, they will always be part of the space shared with the lights and sounds of the main living area and kitchen. You may wish to take this arrangement under consideration if your group doesn't intend to all go to bed around the same time. As for my group, it didn't matter very much and we adapted to the situation without any problems. The deck outside was spacious and we were treated to some spectacular sunsets and lovely views of the night sky. At times, the nearby highway was a sound nuisance, but it would not be enough to dissuade us from staying here again (we weren't here during the motorcycle rally in Sturgis however, if that changes your calculus). We would definitely consider staying here again.

June 2022 ATV getaway with friends

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. At the time of our stay only two full bathrooms were available. We had 9 in our group and enjoyed easy access to many of the atv trails around Custer. We would recommend this property as there was great parking and easy access to local amenities. Our complaints were the car noise off of highway 385.

This house was perfect for our family vacation. Everything we wanted to do, was within a few miles. We even made use of the grill out front. Overall, it was a great stay and Miranda was a great hostess! We will be back!
