We had a great time at this beautiful property. Overlooking the Juan de Fuca strait we got to witness a lot of wildlife including whales, helped by the fancy binoculars provided by the hosts. Cooking our meals on the bbq and enjoying them with the view over the water we will always remember. The one drawbacks is the suite is not as private as we would like since it is a shared property. Overall a great experience

Beautiful Gem!

Robert’s property is a hidden gem. Spectacular views from each room and very private. It’s the perfect little get away destination to recharge. The hosts are very responsive and helpful. I would highly recommend this property and look forward to staying again in the future.

Our host was very welcoming and answered the few questions we had about the suite. The view was spectacular from the beautiful property, we had a hawk visit us in a nearby tree for over an hour one afternoon. The suite was just wonderful, clean, bright and comfortable, the perfect place to wait out a two day atmospheric river! We enjoyed the great variety of TV options while we kept warm and dry. And the best thing was that fabulous shower, it is straight out of a magazine! The property is exactly as promised, we felt like movie stars on a secret and private hiatus between projects. I think I may need an annual retreat to this beautiful place!

Planning to return.

The view was beautiful and the property was great. The hot tub was clean and well maintained. Rob was a fantastic host whose emails prior to and during the stay helped us to plan our days. There were lots of opportunities to relax and take in the scenery and wildlife. We definitely plan to return.

Lovely views

Beautiful location on ocean. Fully equipped for cooking. Comfortable beds. Gorgeous master bathroom. Hosts were lovely. So many hummingbirds at their feeders for us to enjoy! We stayed 4 nights. Perfect.

Wonderful, remote hideaway

Our stay here was part of a 3 week roadtrip all across Vancouver Island. It feels odd to write "everything was exactly as desribed in the lisutng" but it is true. The appartment has great oceanview windows in all rooms, is equipped with everything you could ask for. Robs email intro describes everything in detail, so you know exactly what to bring (or not to bring) and how to operate hottub, fire pit etc.. The personal welcome incl recommendations for activitied was the cherry on top. Thanks a lot for having us, we really had a great time!

Relaxing Ocean View Property

This suite has great views of the water, indoor/outdoor areas and is fully updated with modern, classy finishes. The hosts were easy to communicate with. The suite is very spacious but is not a stand alone property. It is connected to a larger home with a separate entrance which was difficult to tell from the listing. The patio/hot tub area is great but can be seen from the windows of the connected house. Overall a fun place to stay and would recommend/go back in summer months.

Thanks for the kind words. I will try and describe that there are 3 separate, adjacent condos on the lower level of this large oceanfront home with the owners occupying the upper two floors. We hope to see you again in the summer months.

Gorgeous place, wonderful views

We spent four nights here in the east suite (2 beds, 2 baths) and wished we could have stayed longer. First, the unit - it is almost brand new and is very well equipped with everything we needed. The highlight was the fabulous hot tub with its amazing view of the ocean. We were in the hot tub usually twice a day, using the big new beach towels provided, (which we were able to dry off in the washer/dryer). Also, in the master bedroom there is a huge shower with two big rain shower heads. Plus the WiFi is good - strong enough to handle an important business matter I needed to do while there. Second, the owner, Rob, is extremely helpful. He lives in the unit above, and when it got cold one night came to our place with the offer of heaters and blankets. He also has a great information package with directions, restaurants and activities. Finally, the view is fascinating. The ocean is constantly changing, the clouds and mists come and go, the fishing boats come by and something (an otter?) was swimming in the water. All in all, a lovely place. We hope to return.

Lovely property. Extremely friendly and accommodating host. We were the only renters at the time so hard to comment on the privacy lmore than one group present. Highly recommend for couples or small groups.

Magical weekend

Myself and a friend stayed in the 2 bedroom suite and it far exceeded our expectations. The view is absolutely breathtaking I didn’t want to leave! The unit was clean, modern finishings as pictured with all the amenities you can imagine. The hot tub was amazing to watch the sunsets at night. This was such an amazing experience and our trip would not have been anything as amazing if we stayed anywhere else. We will definitely be returning with our partners next time!

Great place to relax

We had a wonderful time here. Jacuzzi was wonderful to unwind. Unit was clean and well stocked. Being next to the ocean was quite relaxing. Rob and Lynn made us feel right at home and were both friendly and accommodating. We would recommend this listing very much and hope to stay here again.

The Ultimate West Coast Retreat

Rob was a super host! Communication was always prompt and he had answers for everything. He was also very helpful and flexible when I had to book and rebook a number of times. The 2-bedroom suite is incredible: super-modern furnishings and decoration with EXPANSIVE views of the ocean and the mountains of Washington. The shower in the primary bedroom has TWO rainforest shower heads! It’s a life-changing experience just having your morning shower at this place :) Sitting on French Beach and pointing through the most to the house on the hill in the distance and saying “yeah, that’s where we’re staying” was also a great moment! The hot tub is perfect for stargazing. The BBQ is massive and hot hot hot! We grilled up some fresh salmon and black cod picked up in Sooke a 20min drive away. If we come back to the Island, we know where to stay. Well worth the drive from Ontario :p Thank you Rob and Lynn!!!

Amazing time!

Our stay was fantastic. Rob is an amazing host, totally accommodating to our needs, very helpful and a total pleasure to chat and interact with. We chose the most beautiful and warmest area of Canada with
-dozens of parks. trails, hiking, biking, all very close or within an hour drive,
-oceanfront views from every room make us think we are still on vacation
after living here for over 3 years,
-3 acres of privacy and quiet solitude, but only 20 minutes from shopping,
-wildlife with whales, seals, otters, bears, deer, cougar, bald eagles, hummingbirds, viewed at times throughout the year
(no guarantee of daily sightings)
We wouldn't choose to live any where else.
