Tradhuset: Swedish "IKEA" Treehouse w/Shaded Deck

This luxury studio apartment, shaded by large trees, rests above a carriage house that fits the bill with high-quality comfortable furnishings, and peaceful, welcoming vibe. Tradhuset (Swedish for "the treehouse") provides the perfect, centrally-located home base while exploring everything Lindsborg has to offer.

Tradhuset is a studio apartment that lives big! Designed by Victoria Freeman, the vaulted ceilings with wood beams and warm colors create an airy and inviting space.

The living room creates a tranquil sanctuary, with a sofa that can open to a double bed and two ergonomic chairs. Lamps and side tables create a lovely conversation area and the side desk locks for storing your electronics. Two triangular dormer windows in the living area welcome the robin's-egg blue Kansas skies. For guests on a workcation, Tradhuset (treehouse) has a desk too!

Awake rested, refreshed, and ready for another day of exploring in the comfortable queen size Casper bed. A smart TV swivels between the sleeping and living areas, making it easy to enjoy your favorite shows either from the bed or the sofa. We provide Hulu+Live TV with no ads and gigabyte speed WiFi.

A fully-equipped U-shaped kitchen with full size stainless-steel appliances is an unexpected and welcome surprise at Tradhuset. The cabinets are full with whatever you might need to create a full meal, simple snack, or anything in between. Enjoy your culinary creations at the raised dining bar for four.

The luxe bathroom offers a spa-like experience with plenty of fluffy towels and robes, an oversized tiled walk-in shower and dual vanities. A beautiful glass-tiled backsplash offers a special and colorful touch.

Pack light! A full-size front-loading washer and dryer are right next to the bathroom, with eco-friendly laundry detergent provided.

After a long day of shopping, exploring, or antiquing, it will be a pleasure to return to Tradhuset (treehouse), pour a glass of your favorite beverage and retire to the large, furnished balcony under the trees to discuss your day and plan for the next, all while making new and happy memories.

We also offer a grill area, but we ask that you check with us before using.

Sustainability is literally built into Tradhuset (treehouse). Built from engineered structural insulation panels, Tradhuset keeps the outside temperatures where they belong - outside! The interior is heated and cooled as needed by high-efficiency heat pumps, often called minisplits. Solar panels on the roof offset power consumption. Appliances are Energy Star certified and plumbing fixtures minimize water consumption. The recycling bin is located outside on the deck.

Prior to arrival, guests are provided with an entry code that will unlock the entry door. Be sure to lock the doors each time you leave Tradhuset (treehouse).

Contact information is provided near the telephone. Our intent is to leave guests alone to enjoy Lindsborg and central Kansas, unless you really need us.

Lindsborg, Kansas is an artist community that embraces its unique spin on all things Swedish. Guests visit Lindsborg for its festivals, shopping along Main Street and art museums, including the Sandzen Gallery (America's Van Gogh). Coronado Heights (a "castle" built by the Works Progress Administration during the Depression) is a popular destination for picnics and to soak in views of the countryside. Larger cities of Salina and McPherson are a short drive away. Another destination is Hutchinson's Cosmosphere, the largest collection of Russian and American space memorabilia outside of the Smithsonian - including the Apollo 13 capsule Odyssey.

Guests drive to this destination. Lindsborg is located about 4 miles west of I-135. The closest airport is Salina Municipal Airport (SLN), approximately 20 miles away. The Eisenhower National Airport in Wichita (ICT) is approximately 80 miles away.

Parking is available at carport at Tradhuset (treehouse), but only for small vehicles. Simply park it in front of the carport. Do not park in front of the double-car garage door, as it belongs to another tenant on the property. If you block the garage door, you may be towed. And we don't want that! Alternately guests may park their vehicle in the adjacent bank parking lot.

The property manager can meet the guests for a tour of the property.

Most maintenance and repair work is completed when properties are unoccupied. Certain tasks, such as mowing or servicing heating and cooling equipment, may be conducted outside the property's four walls during a stay.

If maintenance, repair, or cleaning is necessary while guests are present, the property manager will notify guests of the required work, estimated time of arrival, and, if available, the staff member(s) assigned. Guests are required to respond to these messages to facilitate proper scheduling of the work.
