Beautiful & tranquil villa in a great location

Fantastic beach location, lovely pool to use when not in the sea! Beach location was great, Cafe de Mar just a few metres away or could walk along the beach to 'town'. Rene and Sonia very attentive, very quick to respond to any queries, whilst Jazmine kept the villa spotless and was a star. Lovely location for a chilled out end to a superb holiday in the Yucatan Peninsula.

Beautiful time in Holbox!

This was our second visit to Casa Libelula. We had a great time! The house and team are fantastic and we hope to return!

Not as advertised

Had to checkout after first night as property was in poor shape. Felt like a 2-3 star hotel rather than a luxury villa. Cheap sheets, no proper shower heads (shells are used), Main road with tons of 4x4 traffic right in front (not in pictures). Owner said she would refund for remaining nights but ended up ignoring me and did not come thru with refund.

We sorry to hear this situation about the 4x4 but as you mentioned this is holbox island where there’s is not cars and all the taxis are golf carts, and of curse Christmas time is the hugest season of the year for any beach. We so sorry to not mentioned that may be some golf carts passing by the house but we normally don’t have many at all The house is the must beautiful part of holbox and not many people around The house is in perfect shape and you can see that in the pictures. The shells used as shower heads are part of the look and style of the island. Nothing wrong with that unless you want to be in a hotel then holbox is not for you. Holbox is for people to relax and enjoy nature The refund was sent

Poor value for money “overvalued”

Our holidays were amenable, but we expected a more value for the money we paid for this house. This vacation home is definitely not worth the value the owner is asking for. To begin with, there is no washer in the house as described and confirmed by the owner prior to our arrival, but rather a lady that washes your clothes for you every so many days. The fridge was not working as soon as we arrived, which is inconvenient for a vacation home, where you expect to cook and eat as opposed to a hotel. Thankfully, Sonia (the hostess) was kind enough to fix it fast enough. She also managed to diligently fix the house when it ran out of water in the pipelines and we couldn’t shower. As for the kitchen, the silverware and cookware was pretty deficient as well, poorly equipped for what you would be expecting for it’s price. Even the faucets are pretty basic, while all cups and plates are made of worn off plastic. The bathrooms are pretty basic too, with toilets that easily clog (and which Sonia helped to repair when needed too) and showers that deliver a very weak stream of water. Overall, our stay could have been much better, considering the price we paid for, which is similar to other places in the Caribbean that are much better equipped and that reasonably charge you for this amount per night.

I’m sorry and want to apologize if you felt that way but as you can see everyone else thinks different about our property and always have great reviews. I’m sorry that the housekeeper washed your clothes and didn’t iron them for you and you were super demanding with her and ask her to wash them again because they were wrinkled. I didn’t spect that you actually want your clothes iron and fold it. This is a house in a very delicate place like holbox where there no sewer and also not enough running water sometimes and demanding to washing clothes daily. Been rude with the housekeeping doesn’t make anyone more important. If you clog the toilets is because you did what you want and didn’t care to take care of the rules as are specified with siga to not throw toilet paper at the toilets since there’s no sewer and is a septic tank. Al house utensils are first class but I’m sorry if you felt that way again. We do the best to make sure our guest have the best experience and vacations of their life’s and we really try so hard. Monica, Marina and Gaby were incredibly helpful before and during our stay! We were 6 women arriving on 3 different flights. Monica and Marina arranged for a private driver and a private boat to take us from the Cancun airport to Isla Holbox and back to the airport. They made sure that everything went smoothly. For our first night, they arranged for a chef to come to the house and cook an awesome seafood dinner! Throughout our stay they went above and beyond, answering our questions, and promptly bringing anything we needed. Gaby lives nearby and was able to quickly solve any issues, supply us with drinking water, towels, paper towels and toilet paper as needed. We LOVED the house and the island and hope to return. The beachfront location is terrific and it’s an easy walk into town (or a quick golf cart ride). Highly recommended.

Beach Front Heaven

Holbox continues to be a hidden gem, and so we were thrilled to find a house that was literally on the beach. The house itself was large, 3 bedrooms with full king sized beds. Full kitchen and family room area with functional WIFI (always a plus on any island). The bathrooms do have one trait that will remind you this is a beach house, not a luxury resort as a seashell acts as a shower head due to the low water pressure almost all homes in Holbox suffer from. So don't expect to , hot steam baths. The outdoor area is what made this house special. A private pool that was kept clean daily, a wonderful area under a cabana with lounge chairs and a table to enjoy eating outside. The star of the show, though, is what awaits just 3 steps from the back gate: the ocean! And we mean 3 steps. The beach as at your door step and that is what you come to Holbox for. Sonia and Mónica, the house managers, were very helpful and responsive to any and all of our questions. One night in particular when the island was having power issues, they provided us updates as well as candles if needed until power was restored. (12 hrs later, no big deal). If you are looking for the ultimate beach house and can spare a couple of luxury items, this house is perfection. Food tip: Next to the house is Cafe Del Mar, which having been to Holbox a couple times I can safely name out one of the best for breakfast, lunch and drinks. Great staff

Location, Location, Location!

This was the perfect backdrop to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday with friends. You can't get any closer to the beach than this, and it's just a short walk into town or to have cocktails at any number of nice beach bars. We loved it!

Beautiful -Bring bug spray! Otherwise, place is amazing!!! Beautiful water!

House was clean, great view, and amazing property. Restaurant next door, Cafe Del Ray was fantastic. Bring bug spray and ask for golf cart info.

Gorgeous beach house!

This is the perfect spot to watch sunsets, and we loved being right on the beach! Easy walk along the beach to cafes and town. Owners and property manager were very communicative and helpful- the whole process was seamless. We loved our whole stay.

Beautiful Stay!

I stayed with 7 friends (8 of us total) at Casa Libelula for 4 nights. It was wonderful, right on the beach with a personal pool. It is walking distance from town but quiet at night. There is a little cafe right next door on the beach with delicious food and drinks! The house manager also helped us book transport to and from the airport which was a huge help. They were also available to book any excursion throughout our stay!

Great time on Holbox

Six adults, all family returned to Holbox for our 2nd time after 5 yrs. I have mixed feelings about Holbox because of the accelerated growth. But, CASA LIBELULA is the place to stay. 3 bdrms gave us comfort and privacy. The living room and kitchen had plenty of room and everything we needed. The housekeeper was super sweet (she is expecting and still Worked hard). The property manager met us at check in and check out and was easy to get a hold of. She bent over backwards to make sure we were happy and taken of. The owners clearly care for this wonderful house and it shows. Well maintained, Nicely furnished, Great amenities (pool to die for) and super beach front location! I can't say enough good about CASA LIBELULA. If you are going to Holbox go soon it's changing fast. And stay at CASA LIBELULA!!!!

Beautiful beach & super helpful property manager

We had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay again! The house location on the beach and swimming pool exceeded our expectations. Sophia arranged to travel to Holbox for us which was super convenient. The only thing I would advise other travelers on - it is very close to a small road and can be a bit noisy in the evenings and mornings. We got used to this but were surprised initially. Otherwise amazing!

The best experience and place I have ever stayed

Rene the host is beyond helpful. He responds within seconds with any questions we have, he organized all of our transport, someone to get our groceries and took care of all of our needs. Everyone, from the drivers to the house manager was lovely and great people. The home is sitting right on the beach with a gorgeous infinity pool right in front and all bedrooms facing the ocean. We had so many people walk by and take photos of our place saying it was the best place they saw on the island. Holbox is a charming, low key town with stunning beaches, generous and kind people and the definition of paradise. Thank you so much Rene and everyone who helped us for the best vacation my family and friends have had.

Definitely returning

This place was gorgeous. The property owner and manager was always in contact to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Monica was an absolute pleasure to work with and went above an beyond my expectations. The pictures does not do justice to the house and scenery. We already started planning our trip for next year and plan to stay longer. I want to say thank you to Monica and Luis… y’all are the best!
