The Tiny Red Barn is a labor of love built by us for you on the Diascund Reservoir with water views, wooded trails and sunsets. We feel like we're on vacation every day of the year and look forward to sharing our 26 acres with you. Heavily wooded land with rolling trails, birds, deer, squirrels, turtles, chickens and bees. A large amount of our property sits on the Diascund Reservoir which provides a whole other side of nature.

They are secured by a fence and have their own barn.

Adults, children and pets are strictly PROHIBITED from entering their fenced in area at any time without a host being present. DO NOT FEED or place hands, or fingers into their fenced in area.

If you wish to meet them and have a grooming session, we’ll do our best to make that happen .

It’s the details that blew us away. Virginia and Steve have made every square foot of the Tiny Red Barn feel cozy and you feel completely at home. The quality of the home is one of the best we’ve stayed.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Tiny Red Barn. The setting is spectacular - in the woods, on the water, so peaceful and private. The house is really lovely - beautifully decorated, loaded with charm, comfortable and cozy while somehow also being chic! It’s also well appointed, including good coffee, cookies and, such a treat- fresh eggs. Best of all, Virginia introduced us to her precious mini donkeys. They’re so sweet and it was educational for the kids and parents. We really loved this Vrbo stay and will definitely be back again!

The little red Barn was beautiful. The owners really went above and beyond creating this little oasis and putting every thoughtful touch in to the property, including hand crafted goodies. The house was so beautiful inside, we didn't want to go outside! Even though this is a dog-friendly property, you'd never know dogs have stayed here. The only slight downside I'd say was that we knew the owners lived on property but didn't know they were directly behind us, separated by a treeline. As this isn't a huge deal, we just felt like our loud family of 3 small boys could be too noisy at times and we worried it would be a problem. But, we never heard anything from the owners.

Fantastic Getaway

We could not have loved The Tiny Red Barn more. The nicest hosts who have thought of everything down to fresh cookies and eggs for your arrival. The cleanest rental we’ve stayed in! You will love all the detail and thought put into everything. The scenery is beautiful. We enjoyed kayaking and morning coffee in the screened in porch. So close to many things to do and great restaurants. We can’t wait to come back!!!

Perfect quiet getaway close to everything!

We had a wonderful stay at the little red barn. The hosts were very welcoming and responsive and we arrived to fresh eggs and cookies! We were easily able to get to Richmond and Williamsburg from this location while also enjoying peace and quiet while at the house. It has all the amenities you could need. My personal favorite spot was the screened in porch overlooking the reservoir! It was the perfect relaxing way to start and end the day!

Wish we had stayed longer

Our family stumbled across this gem while looking for places to stay for a weekend near Williamsburg. The place was a dream to stay in, the hosts were wonderful and thought of so many details to make guests stay better (fresh eggs, Wi-Fi QR code, lighter and starter logs for the fire pit, all the cooking utensils, the list goes on), and the whole time we were in colonial Williamsburg our 6 yo wanted to go back to the little red barn. Our only regret is we didn’t stay longer to properly enjoy the property!

I’m telling everyone about this cute barn! It was so relaxing and the atmosphere was just perfect for a weekend getaway! Everything is cared for. So relaxing! We stayed here and went into Williamsburg during the day - the drive was worth it.

Holiday retreat

We loved the place. The only thing I would say could be improved is the bathroom towels. Very rough and smelled of urine. Thanks for letting us share this place !

Quiet and Comfortable Stay

We stayed at The Little Red Barn while visiting family to celebrate a sweet 16. It was very clean and welcoming. There were some nice touches like farm fresh eggs, baked cookies and it was decortated for christmas. Overall 10/10, Host were kind andand responsive

Luxury Autumn Getaway

We had the best time at the Tiny Red Barn. We came to the area to visit Williamsburg, but our favorite part of the trip was relaxing at the barn. The property is absolutely gorgeous, completely serene and peaceful with breathtaking views. We spent time outside exploring, enjoyed s’mores by the fire, and cuddled up on the cozy seating on the screened in porch. The inside of the barn is immaculate. It was the cleanest, coziest and most meticulously decorated rental we have ever had. Our boys (5 & 9) loved the homemade cookies that greeted us, the leather rocker, sleeping in the loft and meeting the donkeys. Thank you so much for an amazing stay! We can’t wait to come back.

Lovely visit

We greatly enjoyed our time at the Tony Red Barn. This was a nice getaway for my spouse and I as we visited the area to spend some time in nature as well as revisit some American History. Thank you for sharing your vacation rental with us. We hope to revisit again someday.

The beautiful, restful, Tiny Red Barn

The Tiny Red Barn is such a unique, delightful, and absolutely beautiful property. The space is clean and impeccably decorated, including all of the amenities you may need during your stay. We especially enjoyed our time relaxing in the screened in porch, the game selection and game time with our kids, paddling on the reservoir, and making s’mores around the fire pit. Virginia was communicative and available at any time, but gave us our space and privacy throughout our entire stay. It was so easy to melt into relaxation at this gorgeous property and we hope to stay at the Tine Red Barn again!

Attention to Detail

Loved the American flags attached to the trees as we drove in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay because of how remarkable they made our living quarters!! The attention to detail was amazing. Personal robes, special soap as a gift as well as all the items desired when taking a shower, shampoo, razor, tooth brush, ect..a few adult beverages in the frig, cookies, and games both indoor and outdoor. The decorating done on the inside and outside was beautiful! The donkeys would greet us while on our walks. People who came to visit during our stay were also very impressed!

Truly a 5 star place

This is one of the best vacation homes we have stayed in. Very clean, comfortable beds, lots of thoughtful extras, and a friendly responsive host. We had fun on the trails around the property, fishing from the pier and just loving the house and natural surroundings. The location was great for getting out to local tourist stuff too. Our family had never spent any time with donkeys until we met the ones on the property. We immediately fell in love with those peaceful guys and looked forward to visiting every day. Thanks for the great stay — We are looking forward to returning!

Get away with the wife.

Beautiful property with great privacy and scenery. Extremely clean and very comfortable. Stayed for four nights with my wife and our dog while we enjoyed the area. Couldn't ask for a more perfect location. Owners were very respectful and polite. We enjoyed greeting the donkeys each morning!

Absolutely beautiful!!

Everything was as described in the posting. The cookies and eggs were absolutely fabulous and I loved my "keepsake" bar of soap. The kayaks were an awesome added bonus! The reservoir was so calm. The house is so beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. It was like coming home after the adventures at the theme parks. We could love 💖 to stay again in the future.

Lovely little home

We loved the tiny red barn ! Beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable, and lots of sweet add-ons that made it extra special! I liked the fresh eggs and homemade soap . Enjoyed sitting on the screened in porch listening to the birds and watching squirrels play . Our stay was too short , I’d love to return and relax in the little barn .

Perfect getaway for teens and adults. House was wonderful and had everything you could need. Hosts were fantastic and gave great recommendations for local spots and a goat farm. We will definitely return again and will recommend this oasis to all!

Wonderful Gem Convenient to Williamsburg and More!

I sent my retired parents to the Little Red Barn as a gift, and they loved it! All my communications with the hosts were friendly, easy and great! I asked my parents to send me their reviews so others could read about a great find. From one parent: We enjoyed our stay at the Little Red Barn immensely. Its location was an excellent jumping-off point for our tours of the Historic Triangle of Williamsburg. Each day we looked forward to returning to our “home away from home” and only wished we had more time to explore the surroundings with our dog. We highly recommend the Little Red Barn for a stay in the Williamsburg/Richmond area! From the other parent: We just loved the Tiny Red Barn! It was so comfy and cozy. Decorated beautifully. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept well. The kitchen was well stocked. The grounds were beautiful. Too cold to sit on the beautiful porch. The place even had a fire pit, picnic table and gas grill. All in red!! We truly enjoyed our visit.

We are excited to share our 26 acres of nature with water views and access to anyone that wants a true getaway. We built The Tiny Red Barn in 2021. It provides the perfect location for resetting and refreshing. We look forward to your visit.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

In 2013 we decided to leave NYC after Stephens lifelong residency, to come to Virginia to get away from the stress of the big apple. We set out to tour many rural areas in search of a perfect location to build an Arts and Crafts home. We arrived at this property and took the long walk from the street to the waterfront. It was winter. As we walked over the hill, we were able to see hundreds of geese sitting on the layer of ice that had covered the reservoir. Moments later they heard us, lifted off the ice in unison and flew overhead chattering like a beautiful chorus of nature. Yep, that was it. To have this scene knowing there was much more to come, we found our forever home. For us it's the ultimate water-view that will never threaten our home.
