The Tiny Red Barn is a labor of love built by us for you on the Diascund Reservoir with water views, wooded trails and sunsets. Heavily wooded land with rolling trails, birds, deer, squirrels, turtles, chickens, and donkeys. A large amount of our property sits on the Diascund Reservoir which provides a whole other side of nature.

- We welcome traveling families and friends
- 1 dog welcome, use the dropdown when booking to add the dog.

Mini Donkeys - we currently have several minis.

They are secured by a fence and have their own barn.

Adults, children and pets are strictly PROHIBITED from entering their fenced in area at any time without a host being present. DO NOT FEED or place hands, or fingers into their fenced in area.

If you wish to meet them and have a grooming session, we’ll do our best to make that happen .

If you are bringing a dog, make sure to enter that in the dropdown when booking as you would number of guests. There is a $50 dog fee.

Perfect for a get away to enjoy the quiet of the lake. Well appointed and a comfortable spot in the woods. The kitchen and screened in porch were our favorite spots to relax and gaze at the water and woods.

My family of 4 stayed there and my brother and sister in law joined us for half the stay. It was so cute, clean and well appointed. Communication with host was super quick and pleasant. My 13 year old twins loved going out by the lake and catching frogs and lightening bugs (the critters remained unharmed) and petting the donkeys. We were able to visit Williamsburg and Busch Gardens about 30 minutes away then enjoy the rural setting and relax.

The pictures on the site are good. When you walk into the house it is bigger and a comfortable home. Virginia was a gracious host. My husband, daughter, and grandchildren caught fish from the dock. They also enjoyed the kayaks. We plan to visit again!

We have stayed in many VRBOs and this is easily one of the most incredible properties of all! It may be slightly off the beaten path but it is absolutely worth it! The property is beautiful with tranquil water views and the tiny barn is tastefully decorated with all amenities you would need. It was incredibly clean and comfortable. We have family in the Richmond area and cannot wait to return on our next trip!

It’s the details that blew us away. Virginia and Steve have made every square foot of the Tiny Red Barn feel cozy and you feel completely at home. The quality of the home is one of the best we’ve stayed.

We visited from KY and stayed 2 nights in July. Our family absolutely loved this place! From the detailed guide book to homemade cookies and soap, place has so much more than most VRBOs. The home is incredible, clean, comfortable and gorgeously decorated. Our favorite thing was the pier that my two little fisherman caught lots of fish off of! The reservoir and pier are even better than the pics and huge. Very beautiful, natural location that’s still close to Williamsburg. The canoe and kayaks are awesome and we fully enjoyed them. The fully stocked kitchen and wonderful grill made it a breeze to whip up a nice dinner. The hammock, screened porch and fire pit was an added bonus to our vacation helping everyone relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. I only wished we would have stayed longer!!!

Beautiful “barn” tastefully decorated….highlighted by exquisite fireplace with gas logs, master bedroom with king bed, upstairs loft highlighted by lake views. Scenic lakeside retreat with dedicated outside fire ring with Adirondack seating for 4. Great communication with owners. High recommend.

2nd stay in Williamsburg

My husband, dog, and I had the best stay at the Tiny Red Barn. This was our second stay here and we are already planning a third. Cant say enough positive things about this place and the hists themselves are amazing. I highly recommend this property!

Everything about this property is an absolute Wow! The host (Virginia) has created a wonderful retreat; so if you’re looking for wonderful accommodations, in a quiet setting where you can enjoy trees and water, than this is the perfect spot. The kitchen and bath are fully stocked and beds super comfortable. We spent a lot of time on the screened porch listening to the birds and watching the sun setting on the water. Communication is excellent and definitely ask about meeting the mini-donkeys! Best rental we have ever experienced! Thanks again Virginia!

Adorable Peaceful Place

We celebrated our 5th anniversary here. It was the perfect place with quaint little touches, including fresh eggs, homemade soap, and cookies. Highly recommend!

Relaxing, peaceful retreat

This beautifully appointed little house was the perfect place for a girl's weekend. It's location on the water was so peaceful and a great place to get away from it all and relax. The owners are great to work with and very responsive.

Lovely visit

We greatly enjoyed our time at the Tony Red Barn. This was a nice getaway for my spouse and I as we visited the area to spend some time in nature as well as revisit some American History. Thank you for sharing your vacation rental with us. We hope to revisit again someday.

Great stay

We had a wonderful time. It was so peaceful and quite. We would sit outside in the rocking chairs and let our pup have a good time. We are looking forward to next time.

We are a husband and wife team with many years of experience in remodeling homes and spaces, building, and property management. We are excited to share our 26 acres of nature with water views and access to anyone that wants a true getaway. We built The Tiny Red Barn in 2021. It provides the perfect location for resetting and refreshing. We look forward to your visit.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

In 2013 we decided to leave NYC after Stephens lifelong residency, to come to Virginia to get away from the stress of the big apple. We set out to tour many rural areas in search of a perfect location to build an Arts and Crafts home. We arrived at this property and took the long walk from the street to the waterfront. It was winter. As we walked over the hill, we were able to see hundreds of geese sitting on the layer of ice that had covered the reservoir. Moments later they heard us, lifted off the ice in unison and flew overhead chattering like a beautiful chorus of nature. Yep, that was it. To have this scene knowing there was much more to come, we found our forever home. For us it's the ultimate water-view that will never threaten our location.

Off the beaten path. Water views, kayaking and canoeing, fishing if desired. No bustle, no rush.

Relaxing stay for families, girls getaway, history buffs. Historic Williamsburg is just 35 minutes from The Tiny Red Barn.

Note: We are a semi rural location, but just 15 minutes from anything you could need. Interstate, grocery, restaurants etc.
