The house is large and in a safe, quiet neighborhood near beaches, restaurants and other attractions. The neighborhood has a small sand playground for kids just a few minutes’ walk from the house. The living/dining area on the top floor of the house is quite spacious with great views, and there is an additional sitting room on the second floor. The kitchen appliances all worked well (except that the water filter and ice maker on the fridge weren’t working), and the wet bar in the living area has a beverage fridge and a separate ice maker, which was quite nice. We enjoyed the hot tub, which was clean and worked well. The owners provided detailed information for check-in and check-out, along with lots of helpful tips and suggestions about the surrounding area. The beds were comfortable, and house does sleep 10, but the listing specifies a room with two double beds when they are in fact small twin beds.
We were disappointed by the level of cleanliness and upkeep. The showers and tubs seemed not to have been cleaned well and some barely drained. We had to rewash towels and silverware upon arrival. When we told the owners about this, they said the cleaning crew usually does a good job but had a limited window before we arrived. Furthermore, the pantry in the kitchen was very dirty, and while it’s not apparent from the photos, the carpets throughout were stained. Given the $275 cleaning fee, we definitely expected better.
Additionally, the porch swing was broken and the hooks holding up the hammock were badly corroded.
