In the southern Cévennes, the vegetation is still lush and green and is not directly influenced by the Mediterranean climate. You’ll still be able to enjoy the cool waters of Lake Salagou and Lake Avène, as well as the Orb and Gravezon rivers. Far from the hustle and bustle of the city, you’ll be at one with nature. This small village of 650 residents features several restaurants, a highly efficient tourist office, a recreation center, a RV park, a fishing area, and an equestrian center. Lunas, with its “2,000 years of history,” will take you on a journey through its past as you wander its narrow streets and admire the houses clinging to the mountainside near its castle. The Gravezon Manor is a stately home built during the reign of Napoleon III; formerly a 3-star hotel, it has recently been converted into a bed-and-breakfast and furnished apartments. The current owners made this choice in favor of a more energy-efficient and less stressful line of work, rejecting the frantic pursuit of revenue and the collection of various taxes. Upon reaching retirement age, they had to make decisions to keep the business going, and this conversion was the result. The building, spanning nearly 1,000 m², features guest rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, and various common areas designed to accommodate any situation—whether individual guests or groups. Outside, an 11 x 7 m pool with its terraces offers you a place of rest, tranquility, and independence.
