Relax and watch the snow on the mountains from just about every window in this spacious and solitary one bedroom guest house, located in Yucca Valley, California, right next to Joshua Tree National Park. Fifteen minutes by car will have you at the Parkā€™s entrance, or drive fifteen minutes the other way to world renowned Pappy & Harriets in Pioneer Town, where you can hear famous bands play, and eat wonderful barbecue. The Fortunate Sun has all the advantages of being close to town shops, restaurants, and services, yet it is bordered by a local park and wash at the end of a road so that you have maximum privacy. The landscape is natural to the area, and we have thirty Joshua trees on our acre, some bigger than many in the park itself.

We are dog friendly with a $50 pet fee. Your dog will enjoy roaming in that adjacent park, as well as in the private back yard that is completely fenced in. This guest house forms the third wing of a larger home, which is occasionally used by the owner. On this side of the one acre plus lot, The Fortunate Sun utilizes a separate driveway, coded entrance, screened porch, and back yard. The large living room includes an ample refrigerator with ice maker and microwave.

Even with all that, the living room has plenty of space for a brand new plush sofa with mountain views. From there a comfortable bedroom with queen bed leads to a full tub/shower combo bathroom, where you can enjoy a good soak after a long day of hiking. Wifi is included, and both living area and bedrooms have flat screen tvā€™s. And each room has an individual, split-type remote controlled air conditioning/heating unit, which gives you just the right indoor temperature, no matter what mother nature is doing outside.

The private porch forms a natural breezeway between the front and back yards, and provides even more space for you to spread out in. The back yard has additional outside seating, where you can enjoy the seasons along with the cute cottontail rabbits that have dens all through the property. All in all, you will have over 700 square feet of indoor living space, plus the immense outdoor areas, for your personal use only.

The Fortunate Sun stands out from other rentals for many reasons. With cheerful eclectic dƩcor and top notch amenities, the guest house will make a perfect home base for all your exploring. And at the end of the day, or even the middle, you can languish in our desert oasis.

5 Nights in Yucca Valley

The rental house is connected to another house with a breezeway, but we never had problems with the owners, they are very nice. There is an electric cooktop and toaster oven in the breezeway, with a kitchen and living room inside. The bedroom and bathroom are nice, just be careful not to use water while someone is showering because it fluctuates the temperature. Overall it was a perfect place for us for 5 nights.

A most wonderful find

This is a super sweet place that has all the amenities for a comfortable stay for a couple and a pet too. Great outside space for pets to get some exercise . Located in a very quiet neighborhood with easy access to the main road on 29 Palms. This was our second stay and will stay again when weā€™re in the area. The hosts are very responsive though we didnā€™t have any issues . Booking was easy and they were available for questions and updates.

Charming and Quiet

My husband and I and our canine pal spent a few nights in this very charming, comfortable place. It was spotless, super quiet, bed was comfy , lovely screened in patio porch with seating and a very convenient fenced in yard for our dog. An added bonus. Owners/Manager was very responsive prior to,our visit with explicit directions and suggestions in the area. We will most certainly stay again.

SOOO Amazing, Better Than You Could Imagine

WOW! We were so relaxed here, more than anticipated!!! You will LOVE how vibrant the colors and nature are, paired into this perfect little desert oasis. The art on the walls! The blue hues! The little cups! My fiancĆØ, little dog and are were SO at ease and safe feeling here, we didn't want to leave! Both the little details and small, ie fresh fluffy towels at the ready, guest toiletries available for us ready in the shower, and...the wonderful family members staying in the main house SAVED THE DAY when we had all the fixings to cook a cute breakfast - except we were missing our cooking oil/butter! This nice gentleman didn't even blink an eye when I went over there in my PJs asking if we could borrow this, and he gave us MORE than enough butter to make our breakfast dreams come true. THANK YOU FOR THIS WEEKEND!!! We cannot wait to come back :) (our dog even misses this place!) xoxo

Wonderful gem in the heart of Yucca

This is the perfect rental for exploring Pioneertown, Joshua Tree, the Integratron. The location is perfect and itā€™s immaculate and cozy. Would stay again!
