Lake Willoughby is a special place. The view is breathtaking and the fun never stops! From swimming in the lake, kayaking, walking along the beach, sitting by the fire at night, or head over to the bunkhouse for family movie night, you will have endless activities to keep you busy! The wrap around porch gives you breathtaking views of the lake and is a perfect place to have your morning coffee. The private beach is zero entry and is shallow enough to walk out approximately 100 ft.
* We do not rent on Criags list* There are no events/ parties/ hosting allowed on the property. No guests other than who is on the reservation are allowed.

Beautiful lake house. It meant a lot more to me because my great great grandfather built it back in 1909. Im thrilled to have the opportunity to stay in this historic building. Plenty of room for a family and the most beautiful view you could imagine.

Week of Relaxation at the Lion's Den

Lovely Stay!

We stayed at the Lionā€™s Den for two nights in early June. The pictures do not do it justice. It was lovely. The beach area is soooo nice for littles. We had family photos taken on the North Beach right by the cabin by a local photographer (Kelsey Gilman) and the views were great. Our favorite VRBO.

Peak foliage fun

House is as advertised and we had an awesome time on the kayaks and paddle boards on the lake. They were super easy for kids to maneuver and the lake is easy to navigate. The view is gorgeous from the porch - an amazing place to see sunrise and sunset. We made smores by the fire pit and there were plenty of comfortable beds to sleep many. Thereā€™s only one pub nearby so we cooked most nights, kitchen is dated but works and you hand wash your dishes. A wonderful way to spend a long weekend!

Amazing!

We had a wonderful week! The house is stunning and even more beautiful than the pictures convey. All communications with the host, Marlana, were answered quickly and she was very helpful and accommodating. The house was very clean and so well equipped, and there were so many thoughtful touches. Our teenagers loved all the water ā€˜toysā€™ and even though the weather wasnā€™t hot (and the water cold!), we spent lots of time enjoying swimming in the lake, kayaking, paddle boarding, and hiking the surrounding mountains. An exceptional place. Wholeheartedly recommend.

A great early Fall vacation

A late September break at this lake house was just what we needed. The place is comfortable, clean, and well-outfitted for eating, sleeping, and water activities. It's not just by Lake Willoughby, it's literally on the lake - sitting on the full-length porch and looking through the space between the floorboards what you see below is water. The owner responded very quickly to questions. Highly recommended.

Our family had a great time at the Lion's Den. It was a good fit for all ages, from 6 to 78. The location is excellent- close to a big beach and yet peaceful. The area has a treasure trove of outdoor activities to enjoy. The view on the lake is spectacular.

Exquisite lake house

Lions den is a dream lake rental. Highly recommend! We loved having breakfast on the deck, which overlooks the incredible views of the lake! My kids jumped off the private dock, swam at the private beach all day, kayaked around as I paddle boarded and we literally didnā€™t think of leaving this perfect oasis. Canā€™t wait to return as we travel a lot and this is by far top of our list ;)
