Micromanaging Host
The main area of the rental area is beautiful. That is the only thing good about this space. The host was an extreme micro-manager & obviously extremely uncomfortable with renting the space. I only had 12 people out of 60 that the space provides for, I fully disclosed this would be a few teenagers & their parents for their graduation dinner and one family had a 4 year old. This was disclosed to the host during a mandated call prior to checkin. This rental situation clearly made the host very uncomfortable as on the call he repeated the rules 3 times & exclaimed again and again that we were not his "typical renters" & he refused a request allowing the parents of the 4 year old to set up a small napping tent. Upon arrival there was construction going on with hoses & construction equipment laying around & the pathway to the space was marked with orange construction spray paint & yellow caution tape. I met the owner who was immediately extremely uncomfortable having the 4 year old there. He repeated again and again that we didn't "look like" his regular renters. He made sure to tell us how expensive everything was and that he likes to watch his guests & everything they do closely, clearly stating that we would be monitored & recorded every second by the 30+ video cameras around the property. This was extremely creepy & made the entire group very anxious that they would inadvertently do something wrong that angered the host. The listing stated there was a refrigerator, but this did not work & we were told that we should go get ice & use the ice chest. So members of the party had to leave the party & go to 5 different stores to find ice as many were out, clearly the expectation was that all features in the listing would be operational so all members of the party could be able to stay at the party. Our experience definitely fell into the bucket of great listing with poor execution.
