Deception

This house is listed as having 5 different bedrooms with 9 available beds. I booked this for 9 work colleagues and I, and when we show up at the house there is only 5 beds. To make the matter worse the home and all the bedroom furniture is literally falling apart, the dishwasher does not work, and the host failed to communicate with me when asking for the checkout instructions. Overall this was an awful experience.

We apologize for the inconvenience, we did send someone to fix the bed and the dishwasher does work. I wish you would have communicated to us more of the issues you were having.

Huge let down

The photos depicted on VRBO do not accurately reflect the property. This is a residential area with homes on top of one another. Most of the furniture and setup shown is not what is in the home. And the furniture that is there needed to be cleaned as well as the carpets which has stains everywhere. There is no swing under the deck. The home had a mildew smell upon entering. While the “lake view” is what enticed us. It is not a lake. Very small and garbage floating that the kids caught along with some fish. While the kitchen was updated every time we opened the dishwasher or refrigerator drawer the handles fell off (which I’m guessing has been a reoccurring theme since you could see where they attempted to glue). We were definitely very disappointed in the overall appearance and cleanliness of this property.

Family Thanksgiving

We needed a central location and this fit the bill. Plenty of room for our growing family! Kitchen was well stocked with Keurig and mixing/baking utensils for our big meals. Plenty of room for our family to eat and chat with each other!

A great location and place for family gathering.

We had 3 Vrbo's rented amongst our family traveling from 4 states for a wedding. For more convenience to your guests I would add more amenities, hair dryers, iron (which we bought and left there) & ironing board. Be sure towels are distributed to bathrooms and all beds have sheets on them. All in all, the house was a nice size to accommodate our group to hang out together between events. I'd take this over several hotel rooms any day. Thank You!

Great home tucked away in Peoria!

Pedal boats need to be properly maintained but the risk might outweigh the amenity. Overall this was a great home, if given the opportunity I would definitely rent it again.

The house has potential, but a lot of disappointments. Poor bedding, TV remotes not working, no smoke alarms and paddle boats full of water.

Suggestion

This property is a good property – large house, quiet, location accessible to necessities and the interstate. I would make this suggestion though: how about going down to the former Pere Marquette hotel in Peoria or one of its camping lodges of the same name in Grafton to see how they are stocked for the travelers needs; see how they are laid out. Or a local camping site that has cabins and is deemed to be nice for the traveler? It is very difficult to find a vacation rental in Central IL that you can relax in and not be on top of each other – like a hotel. We so appreciated this property for several reasons. The biggest plus to us was we had a kitchen to cook in for the five adults staying there. Believe it or not we never ate out once while in Peoria. Even the kitchen could do with a few tweaks. Because we used the property as a ‘home’, we saw how it could have been taken up a notch or two.

Great house with lots of space for all

The house was perfect for a reunion of friends. We had three families stay and there was plenty of room for all to spread out. The house was clean and ready for us. The kids LOVED fishing in the pond behind the house and caught nonstop fish! It would be nice though to have more essentials in the kitchen, such as sugar, salt/pepper, a toaster. We would definitely stay in this house again!

PERFECT country setting right in the city

BEAUTIFUL LOCATION We stayed here during Bradley University graduation weekend. It was a perfect fit. House has many new updates, new appliances, is very clean and tons of room. Host was great with communication. Absolutely gorgeous view of the river right from the deck and loved sitting out there for morning coffee or afternoon chats with our family and friends. We will be back for sure as our daughter has decided to stay/live n the Peoria area.

Disappointed

We are couple of families that always celebrate together New Year. We rent a house and we have fun together for 3-4 days. This was not our first time, so I am not sure if this is the reason and our expectations were too high, but we all felt extremely disappointed. First, we didn't receive any instructions on how to get into the property and had to wait about 30 minutes on the phone upfront of the house, so we can get in. The garage was full with garbage and the excuse was that the trash pickup is on Friday and this was from the previous guests. I was also told that someone would come and take it out on Friday, but this didn't happen. There was nothing in the kitchen. We had to go buy simple things as salt and sugar. We had 6 large and 6 small plastic cups, 12 large plates, 12 bowls and maybe 12 small plates, brand new pots(with stickers still on), and a 12 piece set of forks, knives and others. The house is dark. One of the showers was not working! We had a huge bottle of hand soap, but no dispenser. There were 3 rolls of toilet paper left on the counter. There were no logs for the fireplace. The living room space and furniture is definitely not for large groups. There were not enough towels for everyone. We had to set up all the TVs. For a group like ours of 6 adults with children this was a bad, bad choice. The terrace was nice.
