If you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, the Boise River Retreat is a beautiful luxury vacation home located in Featherville, Idaho, just a two hour drive between the Boise Airport and the Sun Valley Airport, on the banks of the Boise River. Listen to the sounds of the river just outside your window, watch the quiet starry nights, or enjoy the silent snow falling. This remote vacation home is surrounded by 15,000 square feet of rolling lawn up to the river's edge. After a day of fishing, boating, river rafting or motorcycle riding, enjoy cool summer breezes at our mountain vacation home while roasting marshmallows in the outdoor firepit or head to the natural hot springs just 5 miles downriver. When winter snow covers the ground, fire up your snowmobiles and hit the gateway to the Trinities, 5 minutes from our door. No Matter the season, this mountain vacation rental is perfect for your group. Complete privacy for a small group or a family reunion.

All the features expected with a property such as this are included in the luxuriously appointed lodge: massive stone fireplace, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors, 55' flat screen HDTV, games, and much more. Master bedroom features a king size bed, bedroom 2 has a King bed with a private deck overlooking the river, bedroom 3 has a King bed and a set of bunk beds, and bedroom 4 has a King bed with a pull out twin bed. There are also three twin beds in the loft and two queen beds in the bonus room.

Perfect setting for our family vacation

Our family loved this home and all it offered. The view, the river for the kids to play in, pickleball, basketball and other yard games. The layout of the home was perfect for our group of 13 (8 adults, 4 kids and a brand new baby). There was much to do in the surrounding area as well. We loved Trinity Lakes and had dinner and ice cream shakes at the Pine Cafe. We all agree we would definitely return to this home in the future.

Gorgeous Riverside Home in the Mountains

This home was absolutely gorgeous. A large mountain retreat situated alongside a beautiful river. We had a bunch of fun hanging out along the river and enjoying the nature. We saw a couple of bald eagles, cranes, deer and an owl. The interior was gorgeous and the kitchen was well stocked with cookware.

Amazing Mountain Getaway

This home was the perfect setting for our family to celebrate my sister’s birthday. We really enjoyed the swimming hole along the edge of the river as well as the fire pit for s’mores each night. This is a beautiful, comfortable home that I would happily stay at again.

Definitely Paradise on the Boise River

Our stay was absolutely delightful. The home was well stocked, spacious, and clean. We enjoyed meals and time together in the lovely kitchen and great room. Our kids enjoyed the woods, the playset, and most of all the pooled off portion of the river. I think they would have stayed in the river all day if they could. There just wasn't enough time in the day to get all our playing in! The sound of the river was so peaceful and relaxing and the evenings were cool and offered respite from the warm days. The location was perfect. We rode to Trinity Lakes on the ATVs, visited the hot springs, made a trip to Pine, and bought ice cream in Featherville. We couldn't have asked for any better accommodations. Thank you Sheri! We definitely would enjoy a return visit!

Can’t beat the location, naturally the house was amazing.

Mentioned to Sheri about the BBQ’s needing some attention-the gutters may need some leaves removed as I witnessed some overflowing area’s. The peacefulness of this place and the river is what recharged my battery

We spent my dads 60th birthday at this cabin, and it was the perfect summer getaway! This cabin had it all. Beautiful home, big yard river front. We did some fishing in the back. Went river tubbing down to the hot springs. The location is private and peaceful. It was so beautiful! The house was great, fit us all. Kitchen is spacious. We enjoyed our stay. Property manager was easy to reach, and talk too. Very convenient. We will definitely come back agian. Give it all 5 stars!

Perfect Setting for Family Getaway

The Featherville Family Getaway (our first FULL FAMILY vacay in more than 10 years) was all we had hoped it would be. The setting was perfect for a bunch of outdoor-loving people, the sleeping arrangements worked well for us, and the house was cozy and comfortable, inside and out! We are looking forward to a repeat gathering next year - with a brand new family member, our first great grand! Surprise announcement was the highlight of our stay and couldn't have been more perfect!

Beautiful and well appointed home on the river, close to the reservoir with access to hiking and fishing. Very comfortable for our family with a beautiful lawn and children’s play area. The river has a strong current and should be respected.

Featherville vacation

We all loved this beautiful venue on the river! It was more than we had hoped for in every way! It was nice that everyone had their own space for their kids and family together and Gabba & grandpa enjoyed the main suite. The balconies and patios and fire-pit and beautiful landscape, swings etc were perfect for everyone. An additional kitchen towel would be helpful and that is the only ask. There was so many amenities graciously offered. We are all very grateful for Sheri and Mike's spectacular place.

The best vacation rental in Idaho!

Our family, from 4yr olds to almost-80-yr olds, all enjoyed our stay at this beautiful comfortable and peaceful home!!! We could not have dreamed of it being as comfortable as it was, with overall amazing experience - from the owner being very responsive and available, the tips about the area, all the necessities like being in your own home. We had to go into Mountain Home a few times (for my nephews’ Eagle Scout Court of Honor Ceremony, and then for his HS graduation and his party on the Air Force base); it was a long drive, but we all agreed that it was so well worth for us to have such a huge comfortable house for all of us to be together, have family meals together, and everyone having an opportunity for their own things like just resting in their room, playing cards together, or kids playing basketball or cornhole, and chopping wood, evening fire pit roasting marshmallows and having s’mores, lots of beautiful peaceful walks, some of our crew going fishing, and almost all of us going to the Hot Springs just up the road. Such quality family time, making memories together that we will cherish forever! Thank you for having such a wonderful comfortable home and opening it upfor renting for others to enjoy! It is the best vacation rental in Idaho!!!

Hello - We are Mike and Sheri Freer. We grew up in Flagstaff , Arizona and enjoyed 34 years there. Mike grew up spending his childhood summers in Featherville with his siblings and cousins every year. We decided to make the change and moved our four children to Featherville in 2006. Mike built our home and we lived there for 4 years while our children were still young. Those are precious years to our family. When our oldest needed to go to high school we moved to Mountain Home. We currently reside here in Mountain Home and escape to Featherville as often as possible. It is peaceful and quiet and more fun than anywhere else in the world. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

This is a great property to spend your winter or summer vacation. It is away from the crowds and allows you time to reconnect with your family and friends. We found that 2-3 families really can enjoy it together. It will accomodate everyones wants in a vacation. Those who want to read quietly by the river or the fire can enjoy that while the others play outside with many different outdoor activities. The house is also set up in a way that those who want to watch a movie and/or play games(i.e. kids) can be closed off by a door while the others(adults) can enjoy a quiet conversation downstairs by the fire or on the patio.
