Amazing Mountain Views and Unforgettable Bear Sightings

We had an amazing stay at this cabin high above Gatlinburg. The location offered breathtaking panoramic views of the city and the Smoky Mountains, making every sunrise and sunset unforgettable. One of the highlights of our trip was seeing several black bears right from the property, which made the experience feel truly unique. The cabin was peaceful, private, and the perfect place to relax while still being a short drive from downtown Gatlinburg. If you’re looking for stunning mountain scenery, a quiet escape, and a good chance of spotting wildlife, this is an excellent place to stay.

We have stayed here twice. We love the location because it’s on top of the mountain. The view is gorgeous, and the hot tub is so relaxing! My children enjoyed having their own living area upstairs, too.

That view never really gets old, does it—especially being up there at the top. We appreciate you coming back over the years, that means a lot to us. Sorry you ran into the issue with the shower, that’s not the kind of experience we want anyone having and we’ve taken a look at it on our end. Hopefully next time it’s back to the kind of stay you’ve had there before. We’d be glad to have you back at Roaring Bear anytime.

Amazing view and pristine property!

We loved the views and the property was pristine and clean. It was by far the best place our family has stayed in the smokies and we will be staying there again!

Our first time visiting the Smoky Mountains and this property was perfect! Very clean, well maintained and thoughtfully furnished. Had everything we needed. Stunning views of the mountains!

Awesome views

This was probably one of the cleanest places we stayed on the trip it was very well equipped. The twin bed upstairs was the perfect set up for my son.

Glad it felt clean and easy right from the start—that’s always what we aim for. That upstairs setup ends up being a great spot for kids, sounds like your son claimed it quick. And those views up there don’t hurt either once you settle in. Come back and see us again at Roaring Bear Cabins anytime.

The views are spectacular, better than any of the paid attractions we went to around Gatlinburg (though they’re still fun). Came at the end of October and getting to look at the foliage in the hot tub was one of my favorite parts of the trip. The space was perfect for 4 friends and the owner was very responsive.

The view was amazing. Beautiful mountains by day and glittering city lights at night. The unit was well appointed with everything we needed to prepare meals. It was spacious and comfortable. We plan to stay here again next year.

Great place to relax

The place was clean and the beds were great. The hottub was amazing after a long day of walking. Once the weather cleared, the view on the deck was beautiful.

Family Vacation

The Haus of the Rising Sun was great for my family of 4! We each had our own space and the views are to die for! There was a bear seen once in the backyard area during our stay according to the neighbors (we missed it ). I would highly recommend and if we come back to the area, we would definitely stay here again!

Fall Break

View of exceptional and the kids loved the whirlpool tub!! The layout of the house was beautiful and relaxing with a warm comfy decor. The drive up the mountain was a challenge with my truck, will take the smaller SUV next time. Just minutes from all the great attractions and National Park. 👍👍👍

That’s a solid fall break right there. Sounds like the kids found their spot upstairs and the hot tub got plenty of use, which is usually how it goes. And yeah, that drive up can be a little tight in a bigger truck, but most folks figure out what works pretty quick. Hard to beat being that close to everything while still feeling up on the mountain. Come back and see us again at Roaring Bear Cabins.
