Welcome to Mountain Moonrise — Your Fall Retreat in the Smokies Mountain Moonrise is a spacious 3-level chalet thoughtfully designed for families and multi-generational groups. Practically at the doorstep of Ober Mountain and just minutes from downtown Gatlinburg, fall is the most spectacular time of year to visit the Smokies. The hillsides erupt in fiery reds, oranges, and golds, and the views from our three decks become some of the most breathtaking scenery in the entire Eastern United States. One guest captured it simply: "Unbelievable mountain views." Beyond the home itself, guests enjoy exclusive access to three Chalet Village clubhouses — with pools (two heated), a fitness center, and tennis and pickleball courts open year-round.
BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS
The upper level features two private king suites, each with its own ensuite bathroom — ideal for parents or grandparents looking for a peaceful retreat with sweeping autumn mountain views. A charming reading nook between the suites overlooks the breathtaking mountain scenery — a cozy spot to slow down with a coffee and take it all in as the fall colors shift each morning. The lower-level bunk room with farmhouse-style bunks and its own foosball table is a hit with kids. All bathrooms are stocked with full-size shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hairdryers — no tiny hotel bottles. One bathroom also has a bathtub, great for young children.
MAIN LIVING SPACE
The open-concept kitchen, dining, and living area is filled with natural mountain light and anchored by a cozy electric fireplace — perfect for unwinding on a cool fall evening. The fully equipped kitchen features stainless steel appliances, a peninsula with bar stools for casual dining, and a complete coffee bar with espresso, K-cup, and drip options. As one guest put it, "The kitchen was well stocked with appliances, the fire pits, grill, jacuzzi and patio lights all worked — the house is immaculate."
RIGHT NEXT DOOR: OBER MOUNTAIN
Just ~2 miles away, Ober Mountain is a year-round adventure park and one of the best places in the Smokies to experience fall foliage from above. Ride the Tennessee Flyer mountain coaster, soar on the Cloud Catcher ziplines, or take the Sky Village Express chairlift to the highest lift-served peak in the Smokies at 3,455 feet — the fall color views from the top are extraordinary. Whatever the age or energy level, there's something for everyone.
ENTERTAINMENT & GAME ROOM
The lower-level game room goes well beyond the highlights. Alongside the pool table and multicade arcade, guests have a dedicated movie area with comfortable seating, and a selection of board games that tends to come out after dinner. It's a guest favorite on cooler fall days and quiet evenings alike.
OUTDOOR LIVING
The main level deck is the social heart of the outdoor space and, in fall, your front-row seat to some of the most stunning foliage in the Smokies. Beyond the dining table firepit, guests can settle into the egg chair and watch the game or a movie on the outdoor deck TV while the gas grill is going. It's the kind of setup that turns a barbecue into an event. Up on the upper deck, the gathering firepit sets the perfect scene for s'mores and stargazing as the mountains glow with fall color and the night sky opens up above the ridge. The lower deck hot tub sits tucked among the trees — soaking in warm water while autumn leaves drift around you and the mountains stretch out in every direction is one of those experiences guests come back for year after year. As one October guest put it: "The view was spectacular!!! 2 days was not enough!!!!" — Melissa
FAMILY-FRIENDLY AMENITIES
Mountain Moonrise makes family travel genuinely easy. Beyond the pack 'n play, high chair, and baby bathtub, the home is stocked with kids' utensils, books, and toys for early readers so families can travel light and focus on fall memories together.

The home includes a dedicated remote work desk and chair on the main level for those working remotely, a 220v EV charger for eco-conscious travellers (Tesla owners please bring your own adapter), and parking for 2 vehicles on the private driveway with additional overflow parking available at the end of the street.
CHALET VILLAGE CLUBHOUSE ACCESS
Mountain Moonrise guests have exclusive access to three Chalet Village clubhouses — and two of the three pools are heated. The North and South Baden Clubhouses have heated pools, open daily through Labor Day. The Upper Alpine Clubhouse has an unheated pool.
