Lake Life at its best! Enjoy this Cabin on Bois Blanc Island.

Enjoy the large deck and watch the freighters go by on beautiful Lake Huron. Nice 2-bedroom 1-bath cabin with a loft that is accessible by a wood ladder and has three twin beds. Large kitchen and sunroom with a breakfast nook, make this cabin the perfect weekend getaway!

Hang out on the deck or sit back and relax for the 45-minute ride aboard the "Kristen D" car ferry as it makes its departure out of Cheboygan, Michigan.

Check plaunttransportation.com for the current schedule and rates. You will want to book your tickets plenty in advance and be to the ferry dock at least 20 minutes before hand as they leave right on time.

Bring all of your food and necessities with you as there is only one small store located at the Island Diner with a very limited stock of items. The Island Diner is walking distance to the cabin and has good food and ice cream. There is a gas pump located at the diner as well, but I suggest filling up before you leave the mainland. The Island Tavern located aways East of the cabin also has good food.

We supply bags for you to bring your trash to the transfer station located near the ferry dock before you leave. If they are closed, you will need to take your trash with you as there is no service provided on the island.

If you would like to go to Mackinaw Island for the day you can reach out to Fresh Air Aviation, Inc.: www.freshairaviation.net and take the short airplane ride to get there.
There is a very nice airport located on the island and they can be reached at Bois Blanc Island Airport: http://www.airnav.com/airport/6Y1.

This place is great with a lovely view of the lake!It's the perfect getaway if you like to relax. The kitchen had everything we needed, and then some ā€“ the hosts were terrific at responding very quickly. The beds were comfy and the little breakfast nook gave us a great space to play games while others were sleeping.

Loved the location and the views from this lake front cottage. Plenty of room for my husband, me and my two dogs. One thing to keep in mind is that there is no a/c. We have had some pretty hot steamy weather this year and so I was a bit concerned that would be an issue, but luckily for us it did cool down a bit and it wasn't a problem. Plenty of fans and a whole house ceiling fan to draw out the hot air was suffice. But it definitely didn't take away from the relaxation and serenity. They even had a water station set up for our pups. All the amenities you could ask for in a cottage. This, with all the friendly people, and so many outdoor activities around the island, we are definitely going to be coming back!!

My wife & I had great time at this cabin. We explored a lot of island We had our fur babies Lady & Raider with us These two are giant Schnauzers. They enjoyed going on walks with us. We took both of them to the beach. Lady had a wonderful time chasing waves. Raider on the other hand could care less. He just wanted to play. Andy was wonderful. He answered questions quickly. He also had a water bowl filled for dogs. I highly recommend visiting this vacation rental. We enjoyed our week there and hope to visit again.

Well-kept cottage on the water

My family enjoyed our time at this property for the second summer. Three couples stayed here, using the 2 bedrooms and the loft sleeping area. The supplies provided were more than enough: extra beach towels, dishes, cookware, etc. There is a large second fridge which was epic for storing our food for the trip as there isnā€™t a traditional grocery store on the island. There is a large wrap-around deck, the front yard has a fire pit and a nice view, and there are 2 options for dining areas. Itā€™s obvious that the faucet water is from a well due to taste, but the hosts brought a jug of drinking water our first day. And the property is slated for a new well which will be great. Bring a few additional gallon jugs and water bottles that you can use in the kitchen and youā€™ll be all set.

Nice Getaway

This place has everything you need. All you have to bring is food. Everything worked. Itā€™s a cute house. It would be great for kids. The place does have well water that is heavy on the iron (Bring your own water.) The house is really close to the Outpost. You have direct access to the water.

Family vacation

This is our second time staying here. Cabin is fully stocked and in a great location. Our boys enjoy being able to access the lake, walk to dock, diner and pier as well as bike to fishing locations. Deck is large and very comfortable. The new couch and lazy boy is appreciated. A lounge chair on the deck would be only improvement! Thanks again for sharing your home with us! We will be back!

Northern Gratitude delivered

We stayed in at this property for 4 days with 6 adults and 2 children. We also had our dog. The house was impeccably clean and well stocked. If we visited again, we would not have to pack much. It put our minds at ease. The view was beautiful and the location was within walking distance to several spots (dock, store, beach). There was more traffic on the road than anticipated, between the house and beach, which did impact how children and pet navigated area. Overall, would highly recommend this home for a Bois Blanc vacation.

Great Escape!

Awesome place to unplug and enjoy the water and remote setting. House is well stocked and very suitable for families. If your plan is to get away from the grind and enjoy a peaceful setting that offers hiking and many off road/outdoor activities, this is the place!

Nice cottage with plenty of space

Had a great stay with our adult kids. Nice water views in a convenient location on Bois Blanc. Plenty of kitchen amenities for cooking and lots of seating options for meals. Large deck was nice for our evening card games and chill time. Would recommend.

Peaceful Island

This was our second stay at Northern Gratitude and it was as wonderful as our first. The cottage is very clean and well stocked. There is not a lot to do on the island except to relax and enjoy the Lake, sun rises and sunsets. We would definitely recommend staying at this cottage!

Great place to get away!

We had a great stay at Northern Gratitude! The home was clean and well maintained. There was plenty of kitchen ware for our big family. The only thing missing was a dishwasher to my kids chagrin! The only other surprise was the water, there is a lot of iron naturally in the water, and so it tastes like a copper penny, and stains white clothing orange. Bring a water filter if you are sensitive to water taste. The people on the island were super friendly and we had a great time unplugging from life!

Absolutely Perfect!

The location was perfect! It was close to the ferry and the diner. The view of the Lake was right out the front of the cabin. I have never seen so many deer...right in the front and back yard every morning and night. This location was quiet and tranquil without being deep in the woods. We enjoyed the Fall colors and cooler fresh air. It was a perfect long weekend that was relaxing and fun! We will definitely be back!
