Modern Seven Castles Basalt Home

Welcome to our Basalt Estate. We live on a secluded road in the seven castles community and you will be in complete Colorado wilderness and privacy. Please have 4 wheel drive. One of our favorite amenities about our property is that we have a private hiking trail right in our backyard that is a 4 mile round trip hike to waterfalls. Aspen and Snowmass skiing is about 30-45 minutes away. Downtown Basalt where you can find restaurants, gas and coffee shops is a 12 minute drive down the frying pan.

We enjoyed another 3 weeks this summer. Again this is one of the best rentals and landlords I have had the pleasure to enjoy. As an example of what makes it different from all the others: every year the outdoor grill is clean! I love the well equipped kitchen and pantry w a reasonable amount of carryover necessities from host and prior guests. Great distance from the hustle. This year we enjoyed a few trips up to the reservoir day park about 25 minutes upstream. Plus the farmers market and Basalt restaurants and dog friendly locale make everything wonderful. Best landlord and stocked home - quiet views!

Second July in Basalt beauty! As we experienced last year - this is the best stocked home we have ever rented - I am so happy that at this price point there is enough soap and bags and kitchenware. The landlord and her property manager are both accommodating and prompt w any small issues. Great AC in ever room. Beautiful views - see you next year!

Blown Away!

This Basalt Estate was as-promised and so much more! The minute we walked in we knew we were somewhere special. The architecture and attention to detail is absolutely stunning. The kitchen was well-appointed and the layout was perfect for our small group to cozy up, enjoy homemade meals and hang out. In the evenings, we soaked in the hot tub and were lucky enough to catch the Geminid meteor shower. The dark night sky showcased more stars than I've ever seen in a night, just beautiful. Tessa was great to communicate with and gave us all the information we needed to plan ahead for our trip. She made us feel welcome from the start and all of the little touches throughout the house (well stocked toiletries, comfortable beds, plenty of coffee, etc.) made us feel down right spoiled. I highly recommend this modern Seven Castles Basalt home!

Fabulous house and views

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was spotless, very well equipped and roomy. We loved sitting out in the yard in the evenings. Great views. Had excellent response from management when needed for smoke alarm and light bulb issues. Only issue was the master bath being downstairs where no bedrooms are located. Spiral staircase was well used! I highly recommend this property.

Best VRBO rental of > 30 stays!!

Exactly as advertised and more! The Mountain views are beautiful. The air conditioning works great for the warm afternoons. Hot tub clean. Bed is luxuriously comfortable. Big round table large enough for dining and puzzling. But the most amazing aspect was how well stocked the kitchen and baths are. This is the first home we have stayed in with *sharp* knives. And there were plenty of plastic bags, coffee pods, shampoos, spices, soaps, etc. we have already rebooked for nearly 3 weeks next summer. The landlord was great about any questions. And we quickly got used to the 5 mile drive down to Basalt for wonderful dinners out and other activities. Right off the back porch is a good hiking trail. And driving 5 miles up mountain puts you in great fishing below the reservoir and easy hiking along secluded dirt roads stream-side. A wonderful property!!

Perfect Getaway

Tessa’s lovely home was the perfect retreat for my husband and I. It’s beautifully appointed and has all the accessories/amenities to stay in for days, or just make a quick trip down for dining, biking, fly fishing and more!! She was a wonderful host and made everything easy and pleasant. Thank you for a perfectly relaxing vacation!!

Best kept secret of Basalt!

Where do I start!? Our family stayed at this property for the New Year’s Eve holiday. Our group included 2 young adults (my children aged 19 and 21) and my husband and I. Let me start by saying the pictures do not do justice! The house was exactly as pictured and described. The house is set off in the mountains with maybe 1 or two houses within eyesight. There is PLENTY room and hiking out back that we enjoyed. The house came fully stocked with everything we needed and more! The owner was available for any question we had and made a code for easy access into the home. There is wifi also included and a very inviting fireplace that we thoroughly enjoyed considering the freezing temperatures. The decor added to the ambiance and made the house feel at home and cozy, yet classy and stylish. There were plenty of toiletries not to mention plenty of eco friendly products available. The beds included bunk beds, a full size and a king which were ALL extremely comfortable. The house came stocked with a variety of tv options available along with games and a jacuzzi. We absolutely loved how clean the house was and enjoyed breakfast and dinner as a family at the spacious dining table every night we were there. We will definitely be booking again! Thank you for sharing your ‘little slice of heaven,’ Tessa, we look forward to our next trip there!

Sanctuary in Red Rocks

I cant say enough good things about this house. The location was remote which we really wanted. Waking up to that view would never get old. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was wonderfully stocked with everything we needed, all the modern amenities but in such a beautiful location we will be back for sure! The owner was super helpful and sweet especially with directions. Downtown Basalt is super cute with good restaurants and we also enjoyed the river and reservoir up the road. Thanks for our great stay.

Spectacular Stay

This house is amazing. The views, the location, the style...all of it. And the hike to the waterfall (yes, a waterfall) is serene and stunning. We have nothing but positive things to say about this rental, including the responsiveness and ease of communicating with the owners. This is a great place to stay if you want to see Aspen, Glenwood, etc.

Great place to get away and relax. The views are unbelievable. The area towns (Basalt, Snowmass and Aspen) are just a short drive. Basalt is a cute little town with some great restaurants.

Lovely, modern styled home up the hill.

This modern yet cozy home had ample space for our group of 6. Great communication throughout the stay, with prompt responses to inquiries. Snowplow service was provided. The amenities are as listed and the detailed instructions were very helpful. Dog-friendly, with an enclosed deck. there is not a full fenced or enclosed yard, so keep that in mind. The location in Sven Castles provides a good deal of privacy, which we value. The town of Basalt is quite nice, too.

In the clouds

The location of this property was off the beaten 2 lane winding, road along a beautiful babbling river. The house was located on a gravel, winding, hilly, narrow road that was challenging at first. Once you arrived the views from any window were spectacular. It is remote. A car is necessary and the drive time to Basalt was 15- 20 minutes depending on traffic. The house has been updated with all the amenities such as washer, dryer, oven, etc. The owner left many items to use that many others do not. Cleaning agents, toiletries, coffee, sponges were readily available. The layout of the home was quirky. The main large bathroom was on the main floor while the 3 bedrooms and a bathroom were on the second floor. The winding stair case could be problematic for some but it was large and manageable. The only TV was not a problem but no access to AT&T cell was a problem for those working remotely. Fortunately some of us had Verizon for them to use. The area is wonderful for hiking, fly fishing and the town of Basalt was charming and had very good restaurants. Carbondale is nearby and we enjoyed biking along a paved bike path from Basalt bike and ski shop to Carbondale. It was a memborable vacation.

Great place for an Aspen ski weekend!

This home was beautiful! The host was great at communicating. A highlight of the property was the hiking trail that starts right in the backyard. Beds were comfy and the house was very spacious. The property has everything you could need for a trip away (grill, fully stocked kitchen, and plenty of seating). Overall it was a good distance from the mountains and a quiet, lovely home.
