The house looks exactly as depicted in the photos and has plenty of space for people to spread out and relax. We especially enjoyed the screened porch with comfy seating and a gas fireplace, as well as the views of the water from most of the house. The kitchen is well-quipped. The location is well situated for exploring Acadia and surrounding areas. There are a few lobster shacks close to the home, and a bigger variety of restaurants in Bar Harbor 20 minutes away. Patrick the host, and Herb, the caretaker, were both responsive and clear.

Check in was very easy. Location was very convenient to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor and surrounding areas. The property had an expansive lawn that leads to the water; great for sitting on the adirondack chairs and having an afternoon cocktail. It was nice being able to escape the hustle, bustle of Bar Harbor & Acadia. There was a small grocery store 10-15 mins away and a Walmart Super Center in Ellsworth. We really enjoyed the screened in room to have our morning coffee, the large fire pit and lobster pot; we purchased our live lobsters close by. The amenities inside left nothing wanting; plenty of dishes, pots/pans, wine glasses, etc. The host was very responsive and left us with a small welcome gift. There was even a small basket of toiletries in the bathroom with common “forgotten” items which was a nice touch. We had a wonderful stay!

Great Family Getaway

My family of 9 decided to stay at Patrick’s place and we were completely blown away with the property, location and accommodation we were given. We will keep this property in mind for future bookings for sure!

This is a great place in a great location. You can stay and enjoy relaxing at the house, or go into Bar Harbor or Ellsworth and enjoy the things they have to offer. The beds were very comfortable. The outdoor dining area was great. The view is phenomenal with plenty of places to enjoy the view.

Great house and location

Loved the backyard especially watching the tide levels each day. Great fire pit and patio. My family loved the house and the spacious bedrooms

I recently stayed at Bayside Manor with my family. We had a great time there. We were greeted by Herb, the caretaker. He showed us around the house and had some good advice about things to do in the area. He told us he was available day or night. There were 3 couples, and there was enough room for all of us to have space as well as do things together. The property was very well kept, inside and out. The location was gorgeous. We were able to watch the sunset every night. The fact that it was dog friendly was a key factor as well. They provided some dog toys and a separate trash container to keep the lawn clean. It felt like they had considered all the needs we would have for a great vacation. We will be back there again in the future.

Bayside Manor surpassed all our wildest dreams! What an incredible location and property. Everything was first class…the bedding, the linens, the towels, the gourmet kitchen, everything that was provided with thought and care. We made good use of the lobster pot and cooker, and had a wonderful family dinner at home. They even had puzzles and games to play. Our host Patrick and Robin were splendid in their communications, and the caretaker Herb is a gem! We loved the serenity of the property, and yet so close to everything we wanted to do. The first half of our time it was just the two of us, and life unspooled. So magical. Then the wonderful chaos of the grandchildren arrived, and it was so much fun! We decided to called this place “Shangri-La” - meaning a remote, imaginary paradise on earth, where life slows down, people age very slowly, and live in perpetual peace. We loved it. We’ll be back next year.

This is an amazing property. Great communication, property is as described and location makes you feel like you are in your own private oasis. The layout of the property makes it great for a group. Kitchen had everything you would need to make a meal. Also relatively close to town so can also easily run somewhere to eat or buy groceries. Thanks Patrick and Robin. We loved your home!

Bay Manor

Privacy plus! Gorgeous westerly views of bay with stunning sunsets. House is spacious, great for big families! Outdoor spaces are lovely. Quick access to MDI. The caretaker was very responsive and a nice guy!

What a wonderful week

What a perfect location for a family gathering. The house was perfect for eight adults and on 19-month old. Check in was a breeze. The caretaker most helpful. The location ideal. Close enough to Acadia and the wonders of Mt. Desert, but private with great outdoor spaces. We would all highly recommend this beautiful home.

Best stay of all our VRBO's! Worked perfectly for our group of 9--all ages and 1 Aussie Shepard. Thoughtfully appointed; beds comfy; living room a dream couch where the group watched then discussed a movie most nights; outside fire pit was also a winner. We ate all our dinners outside, with the glorious ocean view. Young one swam in the ocean--too cold for me. We went to Acadia; very short drive to everything. Perfect swim and hike places; lots of mini golf. The house was so accommodating.

Charming WaterFront Property

Our group of seven enjoyed our stay at this 4-bedroom home which accommodated us comfortably. We loved watching the sunset every night through the large sliding doors. There were plenty of seats on the deck and around the fire pit. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook, including all the tools for lobsters, which we took advantage of one night. Included in our party was a dog, and we appreciated all the dog amenities including bowls and towels. Highly recommended!

Majestic

Bayside Harbor is amazing!! Situated on Union River Bay with spectacular sunset views and Blue Hill in the distance. The night sky is absolutely beautiful. On a clear night you could see the Milky Way. We even got a glimpse of Starlink! The home is absolutely beautiful and most comfortable with all the amenities you will ever need. The hosts and property manager are wonderful. The property is situated within 30-40 minutes of Bar Harbor, Acadia, Cadillac Mtn, shopping and many restaurants and lobster pounds. Highly recommend and hopefully we will be back soon!!

Bayside Manor

Beautiful property close to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor but feels like a world away. The house was well equipped with everything you could need. The owners were very responsive and left a house manual that had a lot of helpful suggestions for local restaurants etc. (Along with a lovely welcome gift). Herb , the caretaker of the house and property was also very responsive when we had a question about the house. We rented kayaks and went kayaking off the beach in the back at high tide. We had a group that ranged in age from 24 to 83 years old and a great time was had by al! Thank you for sharing your property with us it was a wonderful week.

Slice of heaven!

Bayside Manor was truly a treat for all in our party! Herb greated us as soon as we pulled up and answered all of our questions and provided a helpful overview of the beautiful property! We took advantage of everything this property has to offer as our time flew by. Amazing water views in which we were able to spot seals and harbor porpoise and the most beautiful sunsets! The screened in porch quickly became a family favorite for reading and evening wind downs. Butterflies and hummingbird birds enjoyed the landscaping and we enjoyed watching them! We were lucky enough to have daily visits from the wild turkeys and deer! Our party of 6 felt comfortable with plenty of space! Patrick and Robin have thought of everything guests may need and provide it all! Bayside Manor is beautiful, well maintained, clean, and well.. feels like home away from home! We hope to return again some day!

Excellent house...excellent host!!

Patrick and Robin's house is as beautiful as the pictures show, and the property is even better...it's huge and spectacularly maintained. When at the house, we spent most of our time outside or on the screen-in-porch. Patrick was an excellent host, reaching out weeks before our stay to answer any questions and provide suggestions for the house and surrounding area. The house has written instructions throughout (e.g., light switch labels), which makes it very easy to use. The house is within very easy driving distance to Bar Harbor and all points on MDI, including Acadia National Park. Herb, the caretaker, who is fantastic and has a wealth of knowledge about the area, also gave excellent suggestions for some lesser-known activities like the ferry to Little Cranberry Island. We had kayaks delivered (thanks Kayak1!) and kayaked directly from the front yard (easier at high tide!), spent parts of four days in Acadia National Park (bought the weekly pass) including two trips up Cadillac Mountain, had lobster rolls at many of the local lobster pounds (Beal's was a favorite) and grilled on the patio most nights. Groceries are within 15-20 minutes and we discovered an excellent local organic market (John Edwards Market) in nearby Ellsworth. We had an excellent time and can't wait to return!

Even better in person!

Patrick and Robin have the most beautiful, relaxing waterfront home and being able to enjoy it during the summer was truly perfect. Being used to vacations at the Jersey Shore, homes this nice do not typically allow pets. Here, they have supplies for them and the surrounding towns are pretty pet-friendly as well. Rooms are all well-appointed and bed are very comfortable! Herb is very kind and a great resource for the area as well as the manual left with house rules and activities- read through this when you first get there!!! It’s got great info. We spent a lot of time in the back yard and in the water in addition to check out Bar Harbor and other towns. We hope to return soon!!!

Great Getaway

The house is fantastic, with wonderful property. Close to Bar Harbor and Acadia with easy access to Ellsworth for groceries, etc, yet in a very quiet and private location. Owners and property managers were great. Would stay here again 100%!

A little piece of paradise

Gorgeous property and a lovely home which made entertaining our group very easy. Kitchen was well equipped and user friendly. Multiple options for indoor and outdoor dining. Beds were all extremely comfortable. Beautiful sunsets every night enjoyed in the 6 adirondack chairs on the lawn. Overall a terrific property

A Magnificent Home, Property and Vacation Experience!

What a dream vacation! Our family of 5 had a phenomenal vacation in this most special place. We thoroughly enjoyed the breathtaking views, the cozy fireplaces and the lovely kitchen. The bedrooms were beautifully done and the beds a divine experience to sleep in. We appreciated all of the attention to detail with the interior design choices and the warmth of the layout. The cleanliness of all areas was pristine and Herb, the home caretaker was a gem. Thank you for opening your home to us and we would be honored to return! This is not a property to be missed if you are thinking of vacationing in the Coastal Maine MDI area!!!!!

Beauty and Serenity

This property is everything you could ask for in a vacation rental. The setting is private, peaceful and beautiful. You can appreciate the lovely water views from most rooms in the house. The house is very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Light switches are labeled and there are thoughtful touches all around, like the welcome note and gift, and extra toiletries in the bathroom. Patrick was very responsive and a pleasure to work with. Herb was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. We had a wonderful visit and would love to return.
