Located above the historical Harigle Garage built in 1912, this 2 bedroom condominium is the perfect location for any adventure in the Wayne National Forest. Currently under construction on the main floor is the Black Diamond Brewery and Distillery scheduled to open in late summer 2021. Step out the front door into the architecture that will bring you back into the 1880's and the glory days when coal was king in Southeast Ohio. Hit the Black Diamond Tavern after your adventure on the Buckeye Trail.

A history buff’s dream!

We loved everything about our stay! I’ve wanted to visit Shawnee for a while, when I saw this location on Vrbo, we immediately booked it for our girls getaway. The manager Amanda at the Black Diamond Tavern was very welcoming and helpful. Wing night was yummy and fun. The towns people are very friendly. Brett was very quick to respond and very helpful. Definitely a 10 out of 10 awesome experience for us! :)

No communication from just about check in. Would not answer messages or phone calls. Had to find another place to stay in the middle of nowhere at 8:00 at night. At least the corporate office refunded our stay.

This review is outrageously untrue as exemplified by all of our documented comments online regarding our excellent communications. Because you could not locate the entry you instead chose to impact our excellent rating with falsehoods. The corporate office refunded your stay as we would not given the verbal attacks on staff which negates your communication falsehood. We actually offered you a free hotel room at our expense which you refused and it is unfortunate that you chose to attack our staff unfairly which we will defend. We always acknowledge a shortcoming or mistake but there was no miscommunication in this instance.

3 day weekend getaway. Property was very well equipped making it feel like a home during visit rather then a typical rental. Unique in style and location. Enjoyed it immensely

Super cool little town.

Nice, clean, quiet little town. Full of interesting old buildings. The rental was a great space, very roomy, nice, well kept, well equipped. We would definitely stay here again. We was in town to see some caves and waterfalls. It did not disappoint.

The directions were a bit confusing. We went to the wrong door. Also we could not get the door to lock when we would leave the property. We were told it would automatically lock but it never did. The gentleman we were dealing with was very nice. I believe the building needs an exterminator as well.

Very disappointed with this review as all of the units are clearly marked and you were instructed to lock the inside of the door as it is automatic and would have allowed the door to be locked when pulled shut. More importantly, all of our units are regularly addressed by pest control professionals as all our units are in buildings over 100 years old. To penalize the company with a 3-star rating is unfair when instructions were not followed.

Sweetness of Shawnee

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Shawnee, and without a doubt, we’ll be back! The owner was very accommodating and communicated with us whenever we had a question. Also, loved the Tavern that’s close by! They had music, and it was a lot of fun!

Modern accomodations in Shawnee Oh

Beautiful and large apartment in Shawnee. We walked the town and had dinner at the Black Diamond bar. Live entertainment, Randy Gleason (I think) was EXTREMELY TALENTED. Nice hub for Hocking Hills and surrounding area.

Relaxing getaway

Great little gem of a town. We can't wait to see how it grows. We wanted a quiet place near Hocking Hills for our anniversary weekend. That is exactly what we got. The apartment was great. Not far from the activities. It was clean and updated. Highly recommend staying here.

A Surprisingly Great Stay

We flew out from Los Angeles to stay with family for Christmas. The family home was a little crowded so we opted to look for a nearby lodging option. I didn’t know what to expect but the place ended up being great. Lots of space. Great and easy instructions for the internet/check-in/check-out procedures. I look forward to staying here next year.

Removed from the crowd in Shawnee

Shawnee is a great place to stay that gets you away from the Hocking Hill tourism without being too far from the state park. Additionally, there are multiple other hikes, parks, rides near to Shawnee that allow you to enjoy the beauty of the area. The accommodations were more than we expected! Great place to stay, especially if you have a family and want to spread out. The folks at the Black Diamond Tavern were welcoming and helpful, too!

Charming

We thought this little Mining town was charming and we loved the history. We had a chance to run on the local trails and walk through the village. It was certainly unique, and we love to visit different places. I would definitely recommend the Black Diamond if you want an experience. People were so friendly and accommodating. We only had one issue which was resolved promptly. Thank you for the hospitality!

Review of Shawnee, Oh. Property ID 2162583

The condo was very clean and newly renovated. The property was exactly as described and the owner (Brett) was a pleasure to deal with. I know the property is still under renovation and as a suggestion and maybe this is planned, but the bathroom could use towel bars/holders. I would definitely stay here again and some friends have asked about the place so they may be interested as well. Thanks again Brett.

Thanks so much Paul, you were correct, have those towel holders but have not had a rental break to get the guys to install! Please come back to see them and the work we will be doing to freshen up that 108 year old wood trim.

Clean and spacious condo

We enjoyed our stay in this newly renovated condo. The condo is very spacious with lots of natural light. The smart TV was great for giving us more options for evening TV time. Beds were firm but comfortable. The Black Diamond Tavern was a nice alternative to cooking and offered fresh pub fare. The host was very accommodating and quick to respond to our needs. Cell service is always spotty in the Hocking area but the WiFi worked well despite having multiple devices in use at once.
