Great 2 bd / 2 ba home in lower Tahoe Donner with wireless internet, deck, open layout, skylights, wood stove, 50" flat screen TV, DVD player, stereo system, washer and dryer.

Spacious master bedroom with queen bed, attached bathroom and walk-in closet. Second bedroom with queen bed across from hallway bathroom. Cozy finished attic with foam bed accessible by fixed ladder. Pack 'n play and extra cot available.

50" flat screen TV with HDMI cable provided. Renovated full kitchen equipped with pots, pans and cooking utensils. Covered parking for 2 cars, additional parking for 2 more cars in driveway. Enjoy making use of the picnic table, benches and chairs on the deck.

Located in lower Tahoe Donner with easy access in and out, and within walking distance to trails, recreational center, tennis courts, playground and more! Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Northstar, Sugar Bowl, Tahoe Donner, and other ski resorts are just a short drive away.

Note that there is currently a No Pets policy but dogs have previously stayed at the house.

Great location, cozy quiet stay.

This place is perfectly located with easy access to town and different outdoor activities. Was perfect for what we needed. The listing says no pets but there was a lot of dog hair in the house. Also some dishes/utensils that were put back dirty. The mattresses were really hard but not a con if you prefer that. Overall great place, we would book again.

Fantastic find

We loved this house. The location is great and the amenities at Tahoe Donner really add value beyond that (our favorite is the beach at Donner Lake). The house is comfortable, practical, quiet, and well equipped. It is also super well stocked with everything you need, from kitchen to bath to washer/dryer to supplies. We would certainly stay here again.

Will definitely return!

This place was so perfect for a family weekend getaway in the snow. Very close to Tahoe Donner and amenities but also just in a lovely neighborhood. Our kids enjoying playing in the snow around the property. Beds were very comfortable. And the "secret" loft was very exciting for them. The place was clean, spacious, and well-laid out for a family of four. Will definitely return!

Good space for family

The property is outdated and the heating is pretty strong in the bedroom, but not enough for living room. There are space heaters that you can use. The owner was easy to reach out. We had a power outrage due to Truckee area was out of power. We ended up leaving a night early. The owner was very helpful and gave us $250 refund.

Lovely cabin retreat

We adored this cabin tucked away above Truckee. The cabin was scrupulously clean AND there were disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, and even masks available, which we greatly appreciated. The cabin is somewhat sparsely furnished and decorated, in a good way- makes it more clean and open feeling. It was chilly at night but the heater and available space heaters worked well. We enjoyed the open living/dining room for all our hangout needs, and our son enjoyed the puzzles and Mr. Potato Head that he discovered in the closet. We went for walks and runs in the surrounding hilly forested neighborhood. The large back deck would be wonderful in summer. Overall a wonderful stay in a small, clean, comfortable cabin. Would definitely return!

Quiet retreat in the Woods

A very quiet home, well equipped and cozy. Appreciated good supply of disinfectant and wipes. Very comfy bed. Quick response from owner about any questions. Easy access to Donner and Lake Tahoe.

Quiet and convenient access to Donner Lake and surrounding trails

We stayed in July. We really enjoyed the easy in/out of the location, being close to Donner Lake and numerous trails, like the Donner Lake Rim Trail. Riding our bikes around the lake was a lot of fun, and it's easy to access longer hilly rides directly from the house via Donner Lake Road (about 3 miles one way, with a big hill on the return) The back porch was great, a quiet and relaxing view of trees and animals, and it has nice mixed sun and shade in the morning before 10am, and in the afternoon after 1pm. Sadly we couldn't use the charcoal grill due to the fire ban, but I believe it is being upgraded for a pellet or gas grill (which is allowed)! The house was clean with plenty of towels and blankets available. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

Great house for Tahoe Donner activities

We had a great time at this house. It is close to Tahoe Donner activities. Booking, check-in, and check-out were well documented and easy. The kitchen is well stocked with the essentials. Bedrooms were ample for a family of four. Our only complaints are that the lighting was a bit dim, and not enough snow this year :) !

All the Comforts of Home

We would stay here again in a heartbeat and have already booked our next stay! We are a family of 4 (2 adults + 2 tweens) and felt right at home on Hansel. The two bedrooms and two full bathrooms were pure joy for everyone in our household with space for all of our luggage and personal items. The house is well stocked with what you need when away and we were delighted to find a hairdryer in the bathroom, coffee filters in the kitchen and wine glasses in the cupboard. A mom has her needs! The kitchen is bright and beautiful with new appliances complete with a disposal, dual sink, a dishwasher, filtered water in the fridge, a rocking ice maker, and a bucolic view out the back (to ease the maternal pain of kitchen cleanup). The kitchen was ground central for breakfast, lunch-picnic-packing and lazy dinners at home. You have everything you need in that kitchen from ample tupperware (for beach sammies and leftovers) to cookware, and kitchen utensils. We took advantage of the back deck in the morning for lazy coffee wake-up time and the comfy living room at night to watch a movie (awesome tv!!) or play a board game. The wifi was a a blessing for our device rich family and kept us in the know, even during our time away. We used the massive garage to safely store our bikes and vehicle at night, and appreciate having that option. There's a loft too, which was a bonus for our kids who used it as their adult-free reading nook. They loved it up there! The location of this home worked super well for us since we were mostly hanging out at Donner Lake (minutes away) during the day. Super close to the lake, the town and Safeway. Very central location.

Warm and Cozy Tahoe Donner Home!

This cabin is conveniently located in Tahoe Donner, and has a great layout for two families vacationing together. The kitchen counter is a perfect spot to sit and drink wine while chatting with the person cooking. The loft is a fun space for older kids to play and hang out. We watched our kids play in the snow in the backyard while sitting inside at the kitchen table! Highly recommend this for your next ski vacation, and I hope to come back in the summer too!

Perfect for the Labor Day Getaway

This was my first time visiting the Truckee/Lake Tahoe area and the best part of the Labor Day weekend was this home. Thanks to its comfy beds, recently renovated kitchen and outdoor deck, the home had everything we wanted - and then some! The backyard woods was simply beautiful and were the perfect view of the outdoors while we read and had our morning coffee. Also, thanks to its convenient location near Safeway, Donner Memorial State Park and downtown Truckee, we didn't have to travel far for some relaxation and fun. The owners were super helpful and friendly and answered any questions we had. I highly recommend this home and look forward to future stays here!

Comfy wonderful home, great for families

This is our second time staying at this wonderful home. It's a comfy, clean home that gives you that warm and homey feeling with tons of space. We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 toddler kids. This home had enough room for my super boy to fly (run) around without encountering any obstacles. There are 2 large bedrooms with a comfy queen bed in each room, kid tested since my kiddos slept extremely well. Loved the open layout especially since we could keep an eye on the kids while cooking dinner. The home is also located a few minutes from Safeway and some great restaurants so we didn't have to travel to far for food or personal supplies. This home is in a great location too since we usually head up to Squaw. We'd hop in the car and be on the slopes in no time. It is also next door to Tahoe Donner and close to Boreal and Sugar Bowl. The owners are also wonderful. Super friendly and easily accessible when we had questions. Thanks for letting us stay in your fabulous home! We will definitely be back!
