Péniche Dondon - Cocooning cottage on the Canal du Midi

Unique! For an atypical stay on the famous Canal du Midi, in the heart of the Lauragais, between Toulouse and Carcassonne, come and discover the Dondon barge!
Former Dutch barge from 1920 converted into a cocooning cottage.
Peaceful atmosphere, unique environment, warm houseboat that can accommodate up to 7 people (pets not allowed).

ACCOMMODATION / SLEEPING:
- 1 master bedroom with 1 king size bed 160x200
- 1 children's bedroom with bunk beds 90x190
- 1 sofa bed with futon 140x200
- 1 modular ottoman armchair that can be transformed into an extra bed for 1 person
=> All bed linen and towels for 7 are provided.

EQUIPMENT
- Reversible air conditioning, pellet stove
- Hand soap/shower gel/shampoo
- Hairdryer
- washing machine with washing capsules provided
- drying rack, small ironing board and iron
- equipped kitchen (top fridge, Nespresso coffee machine with coffee capsules to help you out on the 1st day, kettle with teas available, toaster, microwave, plancha/raclette-fondue machine)
=> lift-up coffee table in the living room for indoor dining

EXTERIOR
- terrace on the water with small aperitif table and deckchairs
- Dining area on the bank
- 2nd small aperitif area, smoking, coffee... in front of the barge

You will enjoy the navigation of other boaters, a unique environment.

PASSENGER ACCESS
Car access is convenient in front of the barge. Several vehicles can be parked there.
You have to go down a staircase and access to the footbridge to enter the barge.
There is a staircase inside the houseboat restricted in height (it's a boat!).

INFORMATION
=> For periods of 2 nights minimum, exception for cyclists or pilgrims, at the beginning of the week, subject to availability.
- Provide a deposit cheque of €400.
- You will be welcomed on arrival to explain the rules of the game, and I remain reachable throughout the stay if necessary.
- No baby equipment.
- Our 4-legged friends are not allowed.
- Houseboat available all year round.
- ANCV holiday vouchers accepted.

HOUSE RULES
Arrival: 5 pm – 7 pm => pick up for explanation
Departure: 11 a.m. => with the key deposited in the mailbox
No baby equipment
Non-smoker/non-vaper
Pets not allowed
Parties are not allowed indoors AND outdoors. No noise after 10pm.

GETTING AROUND
The barge is on the Canal du Midi located behind the Radel d'Avignonet campsite.
Immediate access to the Canal towpath, on foot or by bike.
Some sites are accessible by car or by the Canal cycle path.

AVIGNONET-LAURAGAIS, Occitanie, France
Moored in Avignonet-Lauragais, near a typical lock of the Canal du Midi which is one of the most beautiful. Famous Canal du Midi classified as an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Avignonet: historic village with train station, bakery, post office and all shops and restaurants 7 kms away (on one side or the other). Motorway access 10 minutes away.
Nearby visits and activities (locks, Port Lauragais, Seuil de Naurouze, Lac de la Ganguise, village des marques de Nailloux and in Toulouse the Cité de l'Espace)
