Located in Chauvin, Louisiana , Pelican's View Lodge is the place to stay if you are looking for South Louisianaā€™s finest recreational fishing--the Gulf of Mexico for offshore fish as well as vast areas of inshore fishing. Truly some of the worldā€™s best speckled trout and red-fishing while experiencing comfortable accommodations.

Imagine cooking on the charcoal grill while watching shrimp boats drift by or relaxing in the Adirondack chairs while listening to your favorite tunes. Then wake up early to find yourself on deck with some of the best Charter Captains in the area who are available to take you on an unforgettable fishing trip. Or, you can bring your own boat and launch it right at the lodge. Catch huge Black Drum off the dock almost year around (We will leave a few crab traps for you to catch you bait) and leave instructions in the lodge on how to catch them! Lightening on the water for perfect night fishing!

Suspended over the water in the quiet fishing neighborhood of Cocodrie, Pelican View Lodge is a wonderful place to relax. This 2 bedroom, 1 loft, 2 Ā½ bathroom lodge sleeps 12 people comfortably:

This place is just as advertised. Clean, functional, comfortable and very well thought out. Great place. I would certainly stay here again. Owner is super responsive and was concerned about our comfort. Love it!

The host communicated with us quickly when we had questions. The property was extremely clean and well maintained. We were there to fish so it was nice to leave the boats in the water overnight. Will likely be staying at this property again.

Pelican view lodge is our go to place when we come to Cocodrie fishing! Accommodations are always excellent! And the boat ramp next to the lodge is super convenient!

Not As Expected

Our family spends every Easter fishing with our two grown children and three grandchildren each year. This camp was not as we expected... so we decided to leave upon arrival and choose to walk away from our prepaid 5-night stay that was non-refundable.

Great Fishing

Beautiful camp. Well kept. Hurricane that recently went through the area effected some amenities but that was easily overcome. Quick response from property manager about those amenities. Bring your own burneror pot if you plan on boiling seafood. 2burner camp stove will not heat up the large boiling pot. Great fishing from the camp and the other waterways.

Great camp, location, and owners!

Amazing camp with a great location, owners, and layout. We stayed over Memorial Day weekend, and there was plenty of room for my whole family. You can launch from the camp via the ownersā€™ boat launch, and there is an extra slip to tie off at the dock. The dock has floodlights for night fishing, and the camp is located on the Robinson Canal with access to the marsh via a 5-minute boat ride, Lake Boudreaux via a 15-minute boat ride, and Lake Barre via a 10-minute boat ride. Despite unfavorable winds, murky water, and young kids on the boat, we caught 5 limits of reds and some monster black drums. The camp was safe and kid-friendly, which was very important to us. The deck over the dock was fitted with steel cables, allowing my kids to watch the boats in the canal without wanting to climb. The dock was set up with partitions between parking, fish cleaning area, and boat dock, allowing us to open/close areas when we wanted to restrict areas. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs with full bathrooms ā€“ perfect for me and my wife to share a room and for my parents to have a bedroom. The third bedroom is a loft with a half bath and was probably the favorite part of the camp for my 4 kids (they had their ā€œown spaceā€). The kitchen was stocked with pots/pans/skillets/etc., and the eating area was my family's favorite spot to hang out. The owners were in touch all weekend and provided answers quickly ā€“ no matter how small/insignificant the question. Great experience! We will return!

Guys Fishing Trip

We have now stayed at this property twice in the last year and have enjoyed it both times. The place has pretty much everything you need, good location, fishing right off the dock and boat docking. The owners are super friendly and very accommodating with any questions. Looking forward to the next trip!

Our annual guys trip to the bayou has found the spot we have been looking for. Others were either too small or had the space but not enough amenities to accommodate our large group. This one has it all!

PVL fishing at Thanksgiving

This camp is on the bayou at a great fishing location. Unfortunately, the Robinson Canal bridge will be out for the next nine months so access to grocery stores, etc will be a challenge during this period but once the bridge is back it's a great location on the Hwy.

Really nice camp-comfortable beds, great kitchen, deck and lower area on the bayou. Grill, boil, fish fry all at your fingertips. Stayed 2 nights and will be back if it's not booked! Owners clearly take good care of this property!

Really enjoyed our stay!! Camp was clean and very well kept!! Boat ramp and slips were handy and let us get on the water early! Best fish cleaning station of any camp Iā€™ve stayed at! Canā€™t beat the deck overlooking the canal either!!
