Serene and cozy Ozark home - 3 mins to Alley Spring and the Jack's Fork river!

DarLyn's Retreat is located at the southeast intersection of Hwy 106 and State Rte E. It's djacent to the Ozark National Scenic Riverway State Park and is 2 miles east of Alley Spring and 4 mi west of Eminence. You'll be very close to outfitters supporting the Jack's Fork River and all the fun that can be had--they'll even pick you up right from the house!

+ NEW! In the off-season, we extended the patio, added a new covered back deck and a full-length, covered front porch. Additionally, we've re-painted with new collors, added landscaping and a new fire pit!

NO PETS ALLOWED:
- Due to excessive violations of previous guests, we no longer allow dogs or any pets. We will ask you to leave immediately without refund. We love dogs and had hoped to continue allowing them but previous guests have brought unregistered animals, left them alone on property and caused excessive damage/clean up/repairs.

ANY extra guests and/or events/parties must be *preauthorized* by host and host must be given the exact number of expected guests for billing & emergency purposes. This includes any guests using the house during the day or night.

Any unauthorized guests/ events/ parties may result in immediate eviction with no refund.

- Late check out fee: $20 for every 30 minutes after 10 AM, unless given as a courtesy by host. Late check out is only available on days when no other guests are scheduled to check in.

- We use exterior cameras primarily to monitor security, services and safety. Our property is relatively remote and is 4 hours away from our home in Sedalia, MO. We ordinarily do not care and do not monitor cameras for guest activity if you show up with the right number of people and we don't receive reports from other sensors in the house. Be responsible with the house and your guests and we won't have any need to look in. Thank you and have fun.
- Cameras are located at the front door, garage, front and back corner of south eaves, power pole on north side of the house and front of the shed out back. Any damage to the cameras and/ or obstructing the view are grounds for immediate eviction without refund.
- The house sensors include smoke detectors, digital thermostat, Nest Connect (door locks) and Google Nest Hub (doorbell, weather, calendar, Siri).

- Any damage to or tampering with the WiFi is grounds for immediate eviction without refund. Please do not touch the Starlink router on the bookshelf or Nest Connect plugged into the outlet beneath the wooden bench at the entryway.

- When leaving the property during your stay, ensure all doors are locked.

- Respect property boundaries - Our 20 acres is fenced to the north, east and south. Please do not go beyond into neighboring properties. See graphic of boundaries in photos.

- The utility room with main water shutoff and electric service panel is in the basement. Kids are not allowed in the utility room.

- No Littering - Additional cleaning fees starting at $50 minimum will apply if litter is found on the property after your stay.

- Trash is picked up on Thursday mornings.

- Lawn maintenance may occur during the daytime and is normally limited to 1 hour or less.


The back yard has a fire pit area for relaxing while you enjoy the Ozark sky at sunset!

PLEASE - NO large fires and NO fires at all during dry conditions. Water is available from the well head on the north side of the house. A hose is located on the patio and a shovel and hoe are available inside the basement door. Plastic chairs from the patio may be used for the campfire area.

PLEASE enjoy but use great care, be proactive for fire management and cool it to the touch before leaving it. Firewood is nearby, when available. Do not burn cardboard, paper or leaves. The fire pit has a lid and should be covered when the fire is cool and before leaving.

(Personal note: we have seen/experienced small fires spread at extraordinary speeds in dry conditions and light winds!!!)

Garage: The garage is closed off for storage.

This place was hands down amazing ! Close to town , very accommodating for a large group , fully stocked kitchen and even a fire place with wood that we all enjoyed ! The decks are great with plenty of seating and our large group got to enjoy quality time outside together . Bring your side by sides or four wheelers and enjoy nature all around ! See you all again soon !

From the beginning the host was super helpful & responding quick to questions which really sealed the deal on choosing their place. Coming from STL I was not familiar at all with the area but location was perfect as well as the house for 4 kids under 10 & two dogs. Alley Springs (5 minutes away) has great river banks to hang out on. The hosts house has a nice fenced in front yard for the dogs with a large backyard area & fire pit for our family to hang out at.

Lovely time

First pulling up plenty of room for parking we had 6 vehicles . Nice shade trees. Home was very clean . Had 16 people and we all found a place to lay our heads . Had two full size fridges one on both levels. Beds very comfortable , kitchen well equipped. Just a nice place overall. Would definitely recommend this place !!!

Our basement renovation is complete! We can host 10 people and 2 dogs in our 3BR/2Ba home. The new downstairs includes an additional LR w pop-up full sofa sleeper, kitchenette, 2 BR (queen and (2) twins) and a bathroom w shower. See the photos! The walkout leads to a 10’x34’ patio, fire pit and large backyard.

We love the Ozarks and the Ozark National Scenic Riverways area. It's so beautiful and there is plenty to do year-round. We especially love hiking, kayaking and fishing in and around Alley Spring and the Jack's Fork River! We like the outdoors but our home has excellent amenities for indoor activities as well.

We have enjoyed hosting for more than a year now and enjoy the reviews left by guests highlighting the same features and amenities we love!

Our house is situated on 20 acres and while bordered by Highway E and Highway 106, we are relatively secluded. In essence, it’s peaceful most of the time but also conveniently located to get to recreational areas or town for groceries, food, gas, etc.
