Melanie was very helpful and responsive when booking the property and her communication was great. Our journey to the property was delayed because of a traffic accident in England and a 2 hour delay at Eurotunnel; but she was there to great us when we arrived at 22:00, much later than expected! Thank you!Melanie was also very patient with my limited French, thank you!The property is very well presented; in a small hamlet about 4 to 5 miles from the nearest small town, Thury Harcourt. It is very quiet and ideal for those who don’t want lots of noise or traffic. Downstairs the kitchen has everything you need. The dining area and living room were both large enough for us. It was nice to be able to play pool on the pool table! And there is a great hot tub that we used a few times. Very relaxing after a long day of activities. Outside is a large patio with a BBQ that we used twice. It’s a good location for those who want to explore this part of Normandy. Thury-Harcourt has a very good supermarket and the activity centre at Thury Plein Air was great for canoeing and hiring electric bikes. There are some interesting walks nearby and a local swimming pool. The coast is about 45 minutes away which was fine for us. We visited Cabourg and the Normandy landing beaches. I also recommend Falaise castle, which isn’t far and a good day out.
