Reminder this is the cheapest VRBO that sleeps this many (I try to make it the cheapest) around for a reason. Don’t expect 5*. The driveway sucks. Lots of stairs. Otherwise it’s cool. This custom built “treehouse style” West Seattle home is located on a private greenbelt. It is close to everything Seattle has to offer, as well as SeatTac airport. You’ll love this house because of location and ease of getting around Seattle. The house is good for couples, solo, business, family (kids), and big groups. Low vehicles can use street parking and taller vehicles can use the driveway. Find everything Seattle from your own secluded oasis.

The house has a gorgeous view and is far from the neighbors up in the trees so it felt more private, secluded and cozy.I was prepared for a difficult parking situation due to warnings and while we didn’t use the driveway, there was so much available parking across the street that it was never an issue.

Absolutely perfect property for our two days day in Seattle before getting on our Alaska cruise. Management was great at communication. Would definitely stay there again!

Great place for what we needed

The house was great for a weekend full of spots. Spent a lot of time out of the house but at the house we had everything we needed. Can use more garbage bags as we only had one but other then that was good for what we needed it for. Slept 7 comfortably.

Nice but interesting

He was very responsive to any problems and was open to communication which was appreciated. The property itself was definitely more intense than the pictures. The driveway is cracked in half, the appliances were super rusty so none of us felt comfortable using them. The beds were very comfortable though and the place was very open/bright. We appreciated his quick responses.

All the floors were sticky, almost didn’t have enough toilet paper, lots of the things broke and missing, parking is not accommodating at all. Outside on the patio was an old cigarette vending machine, not appealing.

Great in the photos

We rented this house for visiting family. When we checked in we found spider webs and the smell of musty mold. It appeared the house had not been occupied or cleaned for a while. The deck was dirty. We cleaned up inside prior to our family arriving. The parking was difficult and the stairs up to the house was not lit which made walk up precarious.

Disappointing

The mice live under the stove, and often run to a locked room across the kitchen. Many broken tiles, and the ones that stuck in my feet, I left on a hallway dresser. At that price, it should be air conditioned. Parking is horrible, and getting across the street to a car is very dangerous.

Hi Jim, Thanks for the review! We've taken care of the mouse and the floors are in our plans! We try to make it clear that the parking isn't great and the no air conditioning is in the listing. The traffic will be fixed in September when the west Seattle bridge re-opened. We try to maintain a cheaper price than any comparable house of this size in the city of Seattle.

Needs some work

The good. Good location, easy access to alki beach and only 15 min from downtown. Heater worked pretty good. The bad. The home was not clean when we arrived. We found half empty beer bottles on the floor. The kitchen sink handle is broken and leaks when you turn it on. One of the futons is broke and wont lay flat. The listing says they have 3 air matresses. There were about 10 of them. We could only find 1 that did not leak. Not enough bedding in the house for number of beds advertised. We had to go buy blankets for 2 of the kids. 1 spoon in entire kitchen. Not well equipped. Floors are uneven and lots of broken tile everywhere. It could be a really nice vrbo with some work. It needs a deep cleaning and some updated furnishings and kitchen items.

Wonderful house in a prime location

James was a wonderful host and quick to reply with any questions had. Wonderful location in west Seattle with a beautiful view of the city in the house, and very spacious rooms.. we will definitely be back in the future, be prepared for a decent amount of steps.. we got our workout in for the rest of the year! Thanks James!

Great place for large groups.

The house overall was great. Really big for everyone to spread out. The bedrooms are all on the top floor and away from the hangout areas so guests can escape the noise. All rooms have media options and the internet kept up just fine with 10 phones, movie streaming and video games. There are a few gotchas. The road that the house is on is strangely busy for a lot of the day. And the drive way is crazy steep so most cars have to park across the street. And then the stairs up to the property. So unloading the car, crossing a busy street, going up a steep wet driveway and the climbing quite a few stairs was quite a feat. Inside was quite nice, but it lacked some fine details that would have made it perfect. There is a lot of tile damage on the floors, counter tops and bathrooms. And the cabinets, door knobs, and trim could use a little work. Lastly, of the 5-6 air mattresses available, only 2 were useable and leak free. If the owner could get this cleaned up, this place is easily 4.5 to 5 stars. Again, the property was great for us. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again in the future especially if all the above items could be fixed.

Lots of stairs, but a really nice place for a big group

This property is really nice. There was 10 adults that stayed there and we all had space to sleep. There was plenty of towels and extra bedding for everyone. The place was clean and the owner made access to it easy and communication was good. The only downsides are all the stairs and the driveway/parking. This is a three story house, so there is three flights on the outside to get up to it and then three flights on the inside for the different floors. You're gonna work those calf muscles! To access the driveway, you have to pull off a street where there are a couple curves that make visibility difficult. The driveway itself is a bit ridiculous. It is steep and filled with potholes and covered in moss. We had one truck that parked in the gravel and the 7 motorcycles. It kind of a challenge for them to get up and down the driveway. Overall, pretty nice place, reasonably priced, I would stay again.

Stayed at this property, the pictures were not as accurate....carpet was filthy and dirty, fire sprinkler system was broken, which I'm sure is a safety violation. There were smokers in the last group since cigars were left in window's. The parking lot was very tiny, but at most unusable, as this was mentioned in the listing. Overall the house was barely Ok, at most. Please update pictures online, as I had requested to see the property before hand, but no answer from the owner. Our group felt like we were staying in a 1 star motel.

Thanks for the review. We have now deep cleaned the carpets and replaced the fire alarm that went missing - there are however no sprinklers in most older homes.

Great for big party of people

It’s a great space for a big party of people! Only thing that needs updated is amount of amenities and toiletries for sleeping so many. Other than that communication with property owner was great and had a wonderful stay!

The W. Seattle Hideaway

Stayed with some friends for a birthday weekend getaway. The pictures do not do it justice!! Honestly the space is huge, 3 bedrooms is accurate, but there is a full 3 floors, each of which were extremely spacious. Master bedroom was huge with a walk in closet attached to the private bathroom. The 2 other bedrooms each had a sun room connected. Kitchen space was huge as well, and fully equipped w/ every utensil and cup you may need. Dining space was filled by a beautiful round table, also attached was another sun room. Basement floor was humongous with a built in bar and a fun little fold out table which became useful for games of beer pong among friends. Location is private and discrete, surrounded by huge evergreens and towering over the road. I will say though, beware of the steep driveway as it will scratch the bottom of your car unless you’re driving an suv. Not handicapped friendly as this space is filled with stairs everywhere. All in all a great experience and will definitely be looking to stay here again in the future. Thank you for having us James!

Straight forward

The property is a bit run down but absolutely beautiful, spacious, and in a mostly secluded spot. I had a gathering here (under Covid guidelines) which went perfect. Parking is somewhat of a nightmare but well worth it for the location of this place. Will be staying here again.
