Cairon is a relatively quiet village located between Caen and Creully-sur-Seulles. The village has a number of shops, including a bakery, a butcher shop, a restaurant, and a tobacco and newsstand...
The nearest beach is in Courseulles-sur-Mer, a 15-minute drive away.
Museums chronicling the history of the D-Day landings can be found in Courseulles-sur-Mer, as well as in Arromanches-les-Bains.
A bus stop is just a few steps from the house.
