Newly renovated historic loft in downtown Birmingham

The Historic Bon Ton Hatter’s Building is on Birmingham’s main street in the heart of the city center and has been renovated recently. This spacious loft is approximately 1200 square feet and is conveniently located within walking distance or a short cab ride from dozens of restaurants, bars, theaters, Museums, art galleries, parks, concert halls, Top Golf, the new sports arena, the University of Alabama Birmingham, UAB Hospital and shopping. There is a full kitchen and comfortable living room with a raised seating area over-looking busy Twentieth Street. The central heating and air system and all the appliances are brand new. Hardwood floors that run throughout the space and the 14-foot ceilings provide a true loft experience. Giant 8'-6" high windows give stellar views of Birmingham’s beautiful historic buildings and skyline. If unavailable, there is a 2nd floor loft as well.

Items to note:
1. Cats or dogs are welcome, but there is a non-refundable $125 deposit per pet (only 2 allowed). There will be additional fees if there are issues.

2. A parking space for one vehicle is included in the nightly fee, but additional spaces are $10/night (this is what the owner of the lot charges us).

3. Ask us about discounts for staying longer than a week or a month!

4. This full floor condo is a walk-up unit, there is no elevator.

Great and Quirky Historic Stay

FIrst off, Joey is amazingly responsive. The location is in the heart of the city and the apartment could not be more beautiful, but it is a bit quirky. We arrived at night so the parking in the back lot a half block away was not ideal, and then the 3 flights of stairs are a lot. I'd say inconvenient but definitely not unsafe. We walked to 3 different restaurants, went thrifting and enjoyed Birmingham and the space. The bedrooms do not have walls that fully go to the ceiling so it is a loud house. I believe this is definitely something that should be clearer in the listing. This place is gorgeous, great host, but being in a city space was different than I had experienced before. Overall a great stay!

Excellent experience

Great location. Accurate pictures and description. Communication was excellent with easy check in and check out. Street can be loud at night, but slept well once we turned on a noisemaker. Parking was easy.

This is the place to be in downtown Birmingham

This place is where you want to be if you are staying in Birmingham. Classy modern loft with a great touch of local history. This place is very well designed with everything well thought out. Close to all of the best restaurants and bars downtown. Top flood overlooking downtown with great balcony to take in the sounds of the city and/or people watch!! Will be back!!

Great stay

The host was very responsive and kind. The loft was just as described, clean, and had a nice setup. The noise can be a bit at night (loud motorcycles and muffled piped trucks, I guess), but you are close to everything (eateries, bars, shops, etc.), so to be expected.

Great time

Our stay was great. Joey was very responsive to all my questions on the particular on the condo. I had a request for more towels and with in an hour we had them. Condo was clean & well put together. If I had a complaint it would be no seasoning in the kitchen to cook with but not a deal breaker. There are plenty of places to eat that are close by, so excuse not to be able to find something different then the norm. I would definitely recommend this condo and Mgr to anyone.

Great property in Birmingham

Joey was very responsive from initial booking through questions during my stay. The space was very comfortable and there is plenty to do within walking distance. There is some street noise at night so just be prepared for it. Would highly recommend this host and this rental.

Amazing property and location!

We had a wonderful time staying at this property in the heart of Downtown Birmingham. It is located within walking distance of great restaurants and parks, and there’s a designated parking spot just around the corner. The kitchen was fully stocked: pots and pans, Tupperware, Keurig machine. The unit was immaculately clean and had a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows facing a tree-lined downtown street. Beautiful! One important thing to know, though: This unit is a third floor walk-up, so you might want to pack light and bring your walking shoes.

Thanksgiving/Birthday weekend

Wonderful loft for a festive Thanksgiving and birthday weekend! Well appointed kitchen for a holiday meal—even a gravy boat and crystal glasses. Walkable downtown area very convenient to shops and restaurants. Plus our host was so communicative and helpful. Will definitely recommend and hope to be back soon!

Beautiful Loft

The property was all that we expected and much more. The owner was very responsive whenever we messaged him. The location is in the heart of downtown with plenty of restaurants close by and having a designated parking space was lovely!

Beautiful Historic Condo-Perfect downtown location

If you enjoy the urban experience this condo can not be beat! From the moment you pull onto the beautiful tree lined 20th street location you know you are Going to have a wonderful stay. The Condo is full of historic charm and character with beautiful furnishing! The original wood floors feel like butter under your feet and the views of the tree tops and skyline out of the huge den windows is breathtaking! The bedding was exceptional comfortable, which included top of the line down comforters! This condo is everything you want to enjoy downtown bham with upscale restaurants and bars right on the same block! Check in was very easy and owner is exceptionally friendly! Cant go wrong with this one to enjoy downtown Birmingham!

Reconnecting with old friends

We had a great time reconnecting with friends. The kitchen was very well stocked but we hardly used it because of al the great restaurants within a few blocks. The apartment was clean, well furnished and had comfortable beds. Walking to and around Railroad park/the Rotary trail is a must and doing that daily in addition to the steps was plenty of exercise!

Great loft in Birmingham

Very nice loft with high quality finishes. Extremely clean and everything worked. Master bedroom suite is very nice and the beds, furniture, appliances, etc. all are excellent. I don't know if the listing mentions 3 flights of stairs - not a problem for us, but might be for some. The good news is you get great privacy up on the top level! I think it's ideal for a couple to spend time - not as great for multiple couples or larger group due to bedroom walls not going all the way to ceiling (not good noise privacy). Walking distance to lots of restaurants. I thought it was fairly priced and would stay there again.

Amazing Loft/Amazing Location

This loft is simply amazing and it's in a terrific location. We loved staying there and being a part of the city! The parking location is excellent too. I would highly, highly recommend a stay in this amazing loft on your visit to Birmingham City proper. The only warning I will give you is that there is a tremendous amount of steps to climb and there is NO elevator. Please be aware of this and if you have trouble climbing stairs, this place is not for you. However, if you want to brave the climb, it's ideal. We LOVED this place! The owner is amazing and super responsive and super attentive. In fact, they reside across the street in another loft above restaurants. There are also restaurants and bars everywhere. If you want to hang downtown, once you park your car, you could walk or Uber everywhere. Check this place out!

Fantastic Loft ideal downtown location

The third floor loft was airy but cozy at the same time. The decorations were a tasteful mix of old and new and the selection kitchenware was outstanding. The trip up and down the stairs will keep you in shape! The floors are large, so although it is on the third floor there's a lot of steps.
