The Windmill Retreat - Large country home with big yard

Located on a private, dead-end road, the Windmill Retreat is a large, spacious house in the country with a big yard, a fire pit and wood, a gas grill, and a driveway available for parking. It has been recently updated, inside and out, and is ready for you to enjoy! Perfect for friends and families (we have tons of yard games), fishers (equipped with hooks for your waders), and more!

Four bedrooms, six beds, and 2 bathrooms leaves plenty of space for you and your guests. We are located at the top of the hill, and cell phone service, Wi-Fi, and cable TV are all available.

The house will be stocked with a reasonable amount of basic necessities at the beginning of your stay, including: 6 rolls of toilet paper, 3 rolls of paper towel, hand soap in each bathroom and the kitchen, dish soap, and dishwasher detergent.

Located in the heart of the Driftless, the Windmill Retreat is surrounded by many great restaurants, attractions, and local shops!

Beautiful home

The property has plenty of room! We loved the porch, patio, and fire pit. The rooms were big, easy for older family member to move with a walker on main floor. The location was nice for visiting Viola and LaFarge area. I would highly recommend this beautiful home.

Very clean, well equipped house. Layout is a little odd, but it met our needs welk

Other than a problem with the front door lock, our stay was very pleasant. We like to cook and the kitchen was very well equipped. House was very clean. Beds were very comfortable.

This property was great and very clean The porches and patio were great We were looking forward to camp fires but the weather was very hot - it was also close to the wedding venue and had amazing views and lots of deer at sunset

Quilting gals

Very clean, very well kept up. Lots of space. We’re a group of quilter friends from three different areas of WI. Windmill Retreat is the perfect meeting spot for us. It’s location is equal distance from each of our homes. This was our second stay here (3rd for one of us). Plan on coming again next year.

Beautiful and cozy, with great Wi-Fi

I was so pleased walking into this home. Everything was extremely clean, cute and comfortable. You can tell the owner cares about her guests. My teen son loved the Wi-Fi speed. There were many comfy beds to choose from. We spent New Year’s Eve in this home and were very pleased. It is closer to the highway than I expected, but it still felt very private and safe. Would definitely recommend!

Wedding weekend

Our niece was getting married in the area and we needed to have a place for 10 or more people to stay. We were looking for a place that we could have enough room to relax the night before with some game playing and conversation. Then have enough space for everyone to get ready the next day. We found it. We are keeping this house on our list for a return visit for a relaxing quiet vacation. Thank you, The Udelhoven Family

Beautiful House

I wish I could have spent more time at the house but as the mother of the Bride I only got to sleep there. The others staying were able to enjoy the beauty of the house and area. Everything you need is included and beds were very comfy according to everyone. Thank you for having salt available for the driveway as we had ice and snow that night. Only downside was not knowing you need to leave bathroom doors and bedroom door open downstairs to warm the bedroom up.

Loved it. Wish it had been warmer so we could have set up Our tables on porch(es) but no control over weather. We had a little mini retreat for five sewing gals. It worked out fantastic. All want to do it again. Beautiful home, super clean. Our only real issue was all the steps but we knew and managed.

A little slice of Heaven

From my mother: Your home was the perfect place for my family. My daughter got married at the Chapters. This area and home was so relaxing, peaceful, and welcoming when anxiety was high! Phenomenal sunsets! The front porch was my family’s favorite spot! There was so much space for everyone to unwind and do their thing!! We played games, had a small brunch the morning after the wedding with family. Pam is the perfect host! She thought of everything! One of the best amenities provided was plenty of towels for our four day stay with the house full of people. And the hot water never ran out! Pretty amazing! The beds and linen were immaculate and very comfortable. The home was spectacularly clean. She had indoor and outdoor games and a list of fun things to do, restaurants to go, places to see. She didn’t leave out a detail!! The Windmill Retreat is beautiful and we plan to come and stay again! Thank you for allowing us to share your home! Again, it was absolutely perfect!!

Weekend Wedding

I booked this home so our family had a place for the weekend my daughter was getting married. I began reaching out to the owners 3 days prior to see if an early check-in would be available although did not receive any response and finally had to call them which then they graciously agreed to a noon check-in. The home was clean except for an over abundance of dying flies. I wanted a place with internet connection although the internet did not work the entire stay, the home-owners solution was for me to call IT to resolve the issue although that was not an option as I was involved in my daughters wedding and did not have time to deal with that. My elderly parents who had to spend most of their time at the house were petty upset about that (and did not feel comfortable calling) as they like to watch their regular TV shows to pass the time. Overall the home was nice, decor was nice, bathrooms were clean and beds were all firm and not very comfortable.

Great experience.

My daughter was married at chapters on the horizon on the other side of town. This was a recommended property on their local air b&b page. The house was clean with beautiful views out every window,we had 6 adults and a 14 year old and had plenty of room to spread out, the girls were very happy with spacious bathrooms and mirrors in every room. At only 6 minutes from the wedding venue we were very spoiled.

Country getaway

Beautiful, cozy, modern farmhouse with a number of areas for family time together playing games and enjoying conversation. Great kitchen to gather and cook together. Nice country location with wonderful sunrises out the kitchen window with views for miles. Lots of games for both inside and out. Everyone…of all ages… enjoyed our stay and had a great time.
