Hacienda Pinilla is a 4,500-acre gated resort community along more than 3 miles of Guanacaste’s beautiful Pacific coastline. Surrounded by nature, it offers an 18-hole golf course, Beach Club, JW Marriott, equestrian center, trails, and spectacular beaches for swimming and surfing. Casa Nibbana is near the golf course and just minutes from the resort’s beaches, Playa Avellanas, and the JW Marriott.

Guests enjoy Casa Nibbana’s private pool, tropical gardens, and outdoor living areas, along with access to Hacienda Pinilla’s secure gated community and resort amenities.

Within a 3–6 minute drive on private roads, you’ll find beautiful swimming and surfing beaches, the 18-hole Mike Young golf course, the JW Marriott, restaurants, tennis courts, fitness facilities, and the equestrian center, where horseback rides can be arranged.

Casa Nibbana guests also have access to the Hacienda Pinilla Beach Club for a special guest rate of $5 per person per day. The Beach Club offers a beachfront pool, restaurant, and direct access to Playa Avellanas.

Hacienda Pinilla also offers more than 45 km of trails winding through the working cattle ranch, tropical forest, and coastline—perfect for walking, running, and exploring. Keep an eye out for monkeys, iguanas, and colorful tropical birds along the way.

Guest parking is available throughout the resort, making it easy to explore Hacienda Pinilla’s beaches, restaurants, and amenities from Casa Nibbana.

Nibbana means “nirvana,” and Casa Nibbana was designed to feel like your own tropical retreat in Costa Rica. Classic Spanish Colonial architecture, warm Central American details, lush gardens, and generous indoor-outdoor spaces make this a wonderful home for families and groups traveling together.

The single-story layout centers around an oversized great room with soaring wood-beamed ceilings, Colombian terracotta floors, comfortable living and dining areas, and a fully equipped gourmet kitchen. The home is filled with beautiful art, antiques, and colorful details that give it a distinctive sense of place.

Casa Nibbana has four spacious bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom and closet. The primary suite features a king-size canopy bed, walk-in closet, and ensuite bathroom with double sinks. A second bedroom has a four-poster king bed, while the remaining two bedrooms each offer two queen beds. Three bathrooms feature beautiful handcrafted Talavera tile, while the fourth has a sleek, modern open-shower design.

All bedrooms are air-conditioned. Air conditioning in the great room is available for an additional fee—please inquire for pricing.

Outdoor living is one of the highlights of Casa Nibbana. The large covered terrace offers a full-size dining table and two comfortable sitting areas overlooking the private pool and tropical backyard. It’s a favorite spot for morning coffee, relaxed dinners, or evening drinks while listening for howler monkeys and watching the birds and butterflies that visit the gardens.

Just beyond the terrace, the private pool is surrounded by lush greenery, creating a peaceful and secluded setting. A separate pergola with a gas grill, table, and seating makes outdoor meals easy.

The home is fully equipped for your stay, with kitchenware, linens, beach towels, boogie boards, beach chairs, coolers, and toys for younger guests.

A rental car is highly recommended when staying at Casa Nibbana. Hacienda Pinilla is a large 4,500-acre gated community, and having your own vehicle makes it easy to explore the beaches, restaurants, and resort amenities as well as nearby Tamarindo and Playa Avellanas.

GETTING AROUND HACIENDA PINILLA

Casa Nibbana is conveniently located within a short drive of the resort’s main attractions. Most Hacienda Pinilla amenities—including the Beach Club, golf course, JW Marriott, restaurants, equestrian center, and several beaches—are approximately 3–6 minutes away by car.

The community has private roads and guest parking is available throughout the resort.

BEACHES

Hacienda Pinilla offers access to several beautiful Pacific beaches, including Playa Avellanas, Playa Langosta, and Playa Mansita. Playa Avellanas is particularly popular for surfing, while the area also offers wonderful spots for swimming, walking, sunsets, and exploring at low tide.

The Hacienda Pinilla Beach Club is located directly on Playa Avellanas. Casa Nibbana guests may access the club for a special guest fee of $5 per person per day; children under 10 enter free. The Beach Club features an oceanfront infinity pool, restaurant, poolside service, and spa.

TAMARINDO & SURROUNDING AREA

Tamarindo is approximately 15–20 minutes away by car and offers a wide selection of restaurants, shops, supermarkets, nightlife, surf schools, and other services.

Playa Avellanas and other nearby beach communities are also easily reached from Hacienda Pinilla.

AIRPORTS & TRANSPORTATION

Liberia International Airport (LIR) is the most convenient international airport for Casa Nibbana. Private airport transfers can be arranged in advance, and rental cars are available at the airport and throughout the Tamarindo area.

If you prefer not to rent a car, we can help arrange private transportation and local drivers during your stay. However, because of the size of Hacienda Pinilla and the surrounding area, a rental car offers the most flexibility.
