Situated in the South Fairways of the Mauna Kea Resort, our home has beautiful views of the ocean and mountains, and is the perfect retreat for extended family or friends to gather at. Outside, the amenities include the large secluded pool, shower, beautiful landscaping, sprawling lawns for children to play on, and three large lanais. It is just a two minute drive down to the unparalleled white sand beach of the Mauna Kea, where swimmers frequently share the sparkling water with gentle sea turtles.

Inside, generous accommodations include the spacious living and dining rooms with expansive ocean views, perfect places to gather as an extended family or group of friends. Or, you might enjoy relaxing on the large lanai while you watch the sun set over the ocean, all the way from Puako to Kawaihae.

All of the four bedrooms have their own full bath, private entrance and lanai with view of the gardens and ocean. The three master bedrooms each have their own bathroom, king size bed, private lanai, and sitting area for your enjoyment. Three of the bedrooms are in the bedroom wing of the house, which ensures quiet for those wanting space for a private, serene retreat. The closet space in each of the three master bedrooms is so generous, you will wish you had brought another suitcase. The fourth bedroom has two twin beds, full bath, and lanai.

This home is fully equipped for your complete enjoyment; amenities include flat screen TV, wireless hi-speed internet access, full-size washer & dryer, and air conditioning.

For full access to this world-renowned resort, including use of the beach and beach services, two hotel pools, two golf courses, tennis courts, fitness centers and spa at both the Mauna Kea and Hapuna Prince Resorts, our guests can participate in the resort's amenity program for an additional fee.

This home ensures you will create those special memories during your trip to Hawaii, memories that will linger for a lifetime.

This property did not meet expectations based on the listing photos. The home is heavily worn, with uncomfortable couches, broken poolside furniture, and very poor mattress quality—one bed had a large sinkhole with mattress pads stacked on top. One bedroom near the garage had geckos present, and dishes in the cabinets were dirty and required washing before use. The house clearly needs significant updates and improved maintenance. You are paying for the location, not the quality of the accommodations.

We had an amazing two weeks at this property with both family and friends. Very comfortable, beds are great. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking. It is a great location within the Mauna Kea Resort and a very comfortable private location.

mauna kea fairways week

We really enjoyed our time at this property. Beautiful gardens, fantastic view and the pool was great. Location!! The house could benefit from revised lighting and is due for updates to the bathrooms and kitchen, but these points did not negatively impact the enjoyment of our vacation. Super cool floor plan with private entrances to the suites made it feel like everyone had their own little cabana and each had its own AC unit and ceiling fan so everyone could adjust accordingly.Communication with Heidi was easy and prompt. we hope to return for another stay.

Perfect getaway

The house was perfect for our family. There was a lot of space for each of us to get enjoy time together and apart. We enjoyed the outside and pool the most. It was a little odd accessing the rooms from the outside breezeway but it ended up giving us each our own privacy.

Beautiful view!

Loved our stay here, the layout gives everyone space and it was easy to access the resort with the amenity package. Gorgeous open views from the living and dining room. We appreciated the kitchen having basic spices and supplies along with a well-stocked game cabinet:) Would definitely stay here again.

50th Anniversary Celebration

We were looking for a special place to celebrate our 50th Anniversary with our family. This home provided the perfect location for that celebration. Our grandchildren loved the pool and beaches at the Westin and Mauna Kea Resorts and everyone loved exploring the island during our stay.

Beautiful Beach House

This house was so beautiful with great views and a perfect layout for our family. The location was close to the beach in a lovely neighborhood that was quiet and private. We loved the pool, grilling and having meals outside. Heidi was very kind and made everything easy. Highly recommend and would love to stay again. Thank you!

Wonderful place

We liked every minute of our stay in this beautiful house.It is well decorated, the kitchen is fully equipped, WIFI was easy to set up, boardgames, beach toys, pool towels, etc... Beautiful and well maintained garden, large clean pool. The owner was very responsive and everything was ready when we arrived : crib, welcome basket, flowers... The resort tennis and beach are ideal and we all had a lot of fun. Thank you Heidi for making our stay so easy and comfortable.

Hawaii Family vacation

Our family had a fabulous time staying at Heidi’s gorgeous Mauna Kea home. The view of the ocean is spectacular as you enjoy the warm swimming pool. The house was very well equipped with everything you could think of to make our stay comfortable. We took advantage of the Mauna Kea Residence package and it was well worth it to have easy access to the gorgeous beaches, pools and gym. We would love to come back here in the future.

We enjoyed our stay at this home. The location is prime for Mauna Kea beach and the Puako snorkeling area like beach 69. The pool was clean and refreshing. The house has a unique layout where all the bedrooms except the master are in a row like a motel which can be inconvenient for small children as I had the master bedroom with my husband and our children shared the room with two twins which is near the garage that is accessed from outside in the dark and the kids did not want to leave the room at night because of all the night critters. There is a pump or two of some kind that you can hear in the master bedroom that runs all night that would disturb a light sleeper. There are really no beach chairs or snorkel gear or beach umbrellas like all the other houses we stayed in on Hawai'i. I think it would be a great addition for them to provide these things at this price point. Over all its a great location with a nice pool and we had a fine time but for this price I would expect more amenities and polish. The host is quick to respond to questions.

Family celebration at Maune Kea

Excellent home, location, view, pool and gardens enjoyed for by a family birthday celebration. This beautiful home perfectly accommodated four couples sharing time in kitchen, dining, indoor and outdoor living area, while each couple a private bed/bath suite & garden patio. Some of Big Island's best beaches are located close in Maune Kea. Host was super friendly and responsive. HG, thanks for all your help making our stay awesome!

Hawaiian Memories

The Mauna Kea home is great for a family of up to eight. Sleeping quarters are a plus. It has plenty of room for entertaining. The pool is large with room to hang out. The views are amazing from the home. Just a few minutes from the two adjacent hotels. You cannot beat the home and its location. Just about everything you would need is found in the home.

All questions were answered promptly by the owner. The lot is beautiful....sunsets and full moon viewings were spectacular. Access to the Mauna Kea Resort was an added bonus, but a bit costly. Any issue we had was resolved by Heather. Previous reviews stated property decor a bit dated, so that was expected and not an issue for us. A very memorable vacation for our family!

Fabulous House!

This house is set up perfectly for 4 couples. With each bedroom having their own bathroom as well as patio, it works very well! The pool is gorgeous and Mauna Kea and Hapuna Beach are both amazing! The house is a bit dated, but not an issue, we were very happy with it, although the kitchen is a bit small. We had an issue with one of the toilets and the maintenance manager responded very quickly. Great stay and highly recommend!

Great house & location

We’ve been coming to the Mauna Kea for many years & decided to rent a house this time. The house was perfect for 2 families w/ 4 teenage boys. The kitchen has everything you need and the washer/dryer was nice too. Lots of space & privacy w/ the separate bedrooms. The pool is nice for the kids to hang out in late afternoon while adults can relax and watch the sunset. The amenities of the resort are all top notch. Beautiful beach w/ reef to snorkel, tennis, and fun golf course. We would definitely rent this house again.

Special location with a pool on the Mauna Kea property

We had a great trip. The owner and her local manager were both a delight to work with. Having a 4BR home with a pool and an ocean view on the Mauna Kea property is a special treat -- and you get the opportunity to obtain resort privileges during your stay which means parking access at both Mauna Kea and Hapuna (makes going to the beach so easy). The photos are accurate -- this home is still in the original style of the Mauna Kea property, so while the bathrooms and kitchen are not recently remodeled, the price is much more affordable than many other homes with a pool in this location.

Beautiful home, pool really made it great for the whole family. 3 suites makes it fair for all couples to have a suite. Kids room only entrance outside of main house.. not optimal for kids under 10. Kitchen dated but everything worked well. Utensils and bakeware should be updated, overall, great time was had by all!!

Mauna Kea

This is a well-kept house is in a lovely gated golf course community. The layout is great, the furniture is solid, the kitchen has everything we needed to cook and BBQ. The bathrooms have lots of thick, high quality towels and there is a supply of beach towels for the pool. The local Manager is friendly and helpful and when we had a request he responded within minutes. Everything was clean and appealing. The one thing that needs updating is the entertainment system; the TV was so old that we were unable to hook up our computer to stream our Netflix etc on it.
