We had a smooth check in process and arrival. We enjoyed the outdoor spaces, ping pong, and climbing wall and had plenty of available pillows. I would suggest adding some storage containers for leftovers in the kitchen (they may have been taken by other guests over time, of course). Also, we had no dishwasher tablets (likely an oversight as the carton was empty but expensive to need to buy ourselves) and ran low/out of toilet paper, so double checking stock on those would be helpful. The house was clean and Larry was responsive to questions. We enjoyed our stay and would come again when in the area.

Wonderful place

This house was a wonderful family spot to get away from the hustle and bustle. The house was very clean, the beds and bathrooms were great. The location was beautiful and very secluded.

Such a gorgeous house

My family and my sister's family met at this gorgeous house, and it was a spectacular place to spend a week. The kitchen and shared spaces had everything we needed. The beds were so comfortable. The deck and yard were a great setup for our lawn games, s'mores and star gazing. The walking path down into the woods was such a treat. Two things I wish I'd known before I came: 1. The road up to the house -- a half mile or so -- is one lane gravel with some steep parts. When you encounter another car, you'll find yourself backing up or down the mountain until you find a wide enough spot to pass each other. This is no big deal for folks used to mountain driving, but my party of flatlanders found it challenging, and one day's adventures on the steepest part of the trek ended up involving a tow truck for one of us. 2. The house might work best for people who are all on similar sleep schedules. The loft bedroom overlooks the living room / dining room / kitchen, so that person will be woken up when the main areas are used. And both bathrooms are only accessed by going through bedrooms, so if someone is awake earlier or later than the rest of the house, they'll have to go back into a bedroom to get to a bathroom. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this very comfortable house!

Great Home

Nice home. Everything as advertised. Seems a bit older, and not as modern as the listing would suggest. Great views (the views from the deck are limited due to tree cover, but walk around and you will find good viewa). The access road is tricky, so make sure you get there when thereā€™s light especially on the first day. Very close to grocery and gas so no need to purchase things until you are sure what is needes

Amazing house and property, exactly as described!

We booked the house for a wedding party trip and could not be happier with our stay! We loved how much storage was accessible for us to use and the kitchen was for the most part well stocked with tools. Beautiful views of the mountain, and a great porch to have yoga class or just sit in the sun. Would definitely book again!

Fantastic!

Super great time staying here. Highly recommend. The road to the house is a bit rocky but itā€™s worth it. Seclusion and views will greet you at the top. Would definitely stay here again!

Great, relaxing location near Asheville!

We had a wonderful stay here with three families! The house was nice and matched the pictures online, a lot of kitchen supplies available for cooking which we appreciated with a large group. The deck and mountain views were great and very relaxing. As others have said, I would definitely recommend arriving in the daytime the first time to figure out the gravel drive up to the house but the instructions given were very clear and detailed. About 25 min from the house to downtown Asheville. We would definitely stay there again!

Perfect mountain getaway!

This was the perfect mountain getaway for my sister's camp-themed bachelorette party! You definitely need an SUV to make it up the long winding road to the house. Check-in was easy and the house was super clean/well kept. We spent most of our time on the back deck enjoying the beautiful view. Downtown Marshall was a 5 minute drive from the house - super cute downtown right on the river. We went whitewater rafting at Blue Heron Whitewater (10 min. drive from house) and highly recommend! It was roughly a 30 minute drive to downtown Asheville. We knew there was no way an Uber or Lyft was making it up to the house but thankfully we discovered Greater Asheville Transportation LLC (female owned & operated transportation service) - they picked us up from the house & dropped us downtown then took us back home at the end of the night! It was perfect for our night out. Host was very responsive and accommodating! 10/10 would stay again!

Family Fun

6 family members from Virginia met 6 family members from Georgia for a weekend of togetherness. We enjoyed the hot tub, had morning yoga on the deck overlooking mountains, cooked several meals (one on the grill), climbed the wall, and slid down the fire pole! We played board games and relaxed in the hammock. Birthdays, graduations, and milestones were celebrated. Comfortable beds and well stocked kitchen. Larry made it easy!

Great place that kids loved

We went there to spend some time in the mountains. It was close to fishing at the Laurel River. It was a nice place to stay, and the kids loved having the climbing wall and Firemans pole any small issues that came up weā€™re dealt with very adeptly buy the property manager. We appreciate being able to stay there and would stay there again when headed back to the area.

Beautiful property for mountain retreat

My family and I had a wonderful time at this precious mountain home! The views from the porch and windows were wonderful and the house was spacious with lots of fun nature-themed decorations. We definitely enjoyed our stay and would love to come back!

Excellent stay

We had a great time at this property. Having the large porch was perfect for the nice weather we had for the weekend. The property was somewhat difficult to get to as the road was very narrow and gravel, but once at the property the views were spectacular and felt secluded. The directions were spot on so we had no issue finding the place and I would like to mention that Apple Maps did correctly direct us there, but as we were told Google Maps does not. The space was perfect for our group and we really enjoyed our stay.

Friends become family.

My husband and I stayed here with three of our dear friends. We are in our fifties and have been friends since college. We travel together often and always rent beautiful homes, instead of staying in hotels. This home was perfect for our purposes. It was a short drive to Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. It was in the best little town of Marshall, where we discovered excellent dining at the Star Diner. The property itself was so serene and we loved just enjoying the sunsets on the amazing deck. In fact, on our last evening, in the fading sunset, a proposal occurred and two friends became engaged to be married. So, this property, and this vacation, will always hold a special place in our hearts. The home had everything that we needed, and more. Thanks for a great experience.

Family Heaven on a Hilltop

Larry has opened his fabulous home to guests and it was cozy, yet modern, spacious, expertly appointed, private with breathtaking views, nature and all in a great location. There is something for every age, from the hiking trails and glorious outdoor decks to the amazing kitchen, rock wall, ping pong and hot tub. The tweens enjoyed their device-free weekend just as much as us grown-ups who needed a refreshing weekend of outdoor activities, shopping and eating! Thank you Larry, we hope to visit again!

Wonderfull stay in the mountains

Fabulous house with everything you can wish for. Check-in details were not automatically sent through. However, it was quickly resolved. Other than that we enjoyed playing on the ping pong table. Beds are great and plentiful for a large group. Cool details all around and inside the house. Thank you Larry for being a great host.

Beautiful mountain getaway!

We overall had a wonderful time at Larry's place. We had an initial hiccup checking in, but with his timely responsiveness he was able to help us out and solve the issues. Would definitely stay here again. *Theses are mountain roads, windy and difficult to navigate so I HIGHLY recommend a daylight arrival! We're seasoned travelers and had difficulty finding the roads.

Beautiful and Peaceful Getaway

We enjoyed our stay. The property and home are beautiful and well maintained. We had every modern convenience one could think of. It is a quiet and peaceful property but yet a short drive to fun activities and restaurants in the Asheville area. We hope to be back someday!

Perfect Mountain Getaway

Great property! Very clean and exactly as described. We loved the climbing wall and the huge deck with gorgeous views. Recommend following the posted directions as some map apps do not take you the correct place. We will definitely be back!

Perfect retreat!

This place was perfect for our annual friends and family get together/fishing trip! The kids were crazy about the climbing wall the deck was the perfect setting for stories, dinner outside and watching the kids run and hear their laughter echo across the River! And of course had some intense ping pong matches in the garage and it was easy to access the River towards hot spring but also quick to head to Asheville to grab dinner if need be. I would and will absolutely be looking for this place again next year!
