Has great potential, but without tending to, very disappointing

My partner and I intended to spend the weekend in Fort Lauderdale - upon arriving, the location of the actual unit was a bit difficult to find, but Robert quickly received and responded to my messages and even called. Once we entered into the space, we were immediately shocked with the heat of the room and over powering smell of mildew. The air had not been turned on all day, I am assuming, and it felt like a sauna in there. The humidity made things sticky - it is a tiny window unit, and would have taken hours to cool the room. It felt like 95 degrees at 9pm. After spending 5 min inside, we noticed the bugs/ants everywhere. Robert claimed to have no knowledge of them, but also stated that he had the place fumigated the night before, and suggested he would fumigate during our stay -- I am not sure how that would have worked with our pet and our stay to have been present with fumigation chemicals??? The bed was also not cleaned. We ended up taking pictures of the bed (the human fluids, grease, and stains), the bugs, and the gap under the ac unit where the bugs were probably coming through and sending to Vrbo HQ for a refund (Robert was unwilling to refund at all). After respectfully messaging with Robert, he did offer us the option of a discount if we stayed, however, at its current state, the place is not inhabitable. If he actually does a deep cleaning and is genuine with what he states and wants for the space, it will absolutely be a gem for singles/couples bc of location.

The pictures were dark and unclear. I will say the bathroom was clean but other than that not good!😩

Wouldn’t recommend!

Overall very disappointed with this property. When we walked inside, it smelled of mildew. Bed sheets did not appear to be freshly cleaned. Microwave still had someone else’s cup inside. Refrigerator had mold inside. Bathroom did not have a fan, the shower had no shower head, and the tub would not drain properly. The front door was very hard to close and when it was closed, there was a crack on the bottom of the door as well as the top where the outside could be seen from within. When the ac was turned on, it smelt like a dead fish. VRBO should verify that hosts are using cleaning fees we pay to actually clean the properties.

The unit is a little run down on the interior, but if you are coming down for fun in the sun and steps from the center of everything, this is your place.

Great location

For me this was great, the location was great and the price was great, it isn’t the biggest or fanciest place, that’s why it is reasonably priced, it was exactly what I needed and how it was described in the listing. It was a very short walk to the beach and a short walk to the restaurants at the village, Lauderdale by the sea!

Awesome overnite!!--great location!!!!

This was a clean easy to find park and get around the area place!! We had everything we needed for a short stay [ours was overnite] close to airport and any food we wanted.

Location and price are an absolute 5.

The room however is reflecting what you pay for. If you are traveling as one person and don't spent much time in the room, it will be fine. If you are 2 or you like to spent some time in your room to relax, this might not be it. There is no or very little daylight, the A/C is loud, the bedding, towels, need some improvement. However, i spoke to the owner and he might have done the changes by the time you book your vacation. Again, if price is your number one, it is a good deal. For me, i decided, if i take time out and spend money for flight, food, attraction, i might spent a little more to have a room I like to retreat back to.

Excellent location to local businesses and the beach.

The property was excellent and exactly like the listing. The property manager was quick to respond to my questions. Great place.
