One Bedroom Cabin near Mount Rushmore

Welcome to Silver Mountain Resort and Cabins. Silver Mountain #1 is one of seven cabins on our country property and is the first of our Black Hills Cabins. It was originally built in the 1930's as a place for Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) crew members to call home after long days spent in the area constructing bridges, building parks, thinning trees, and mining rocks. This cabin was later renovated into a gas station in the 1960's for travelers heading to Mt. Rushmore.

Silver Mountain #1 is a beautiful, air-conditioned 1-bedroom cabin with 1 queen bed and 1 bathroom, stand up shower, fully equipped with towels and linens. The living room includes an electric fireplace, a queen futon and a twin day bed. The kitchen includes a fridge, sink, hotplate, toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker and dishes. The large covered porch with table and chairs, patio furniture and gas grill is the perfect place to begin and end your day in your Black Hills Getaway.

The Silver Mountain #1 Cabin is a comfortable getaway in the middle of the Black Hills. It is close to all of the popular tourist destinations but sits on a quiet road away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist towns. Relax in the heated pool, grill up dinner on your unit's grill, enjoy your private fire pit, or cozy up on the front porch of the cabin in the middle of the trees and peacefulness that make the Black Hills so special.

Great location. Small cabin.

Nothing fancy but kept us safe and warm.Some updates are needed for the price we paid. New shower curtain, futon not clean or great. But the bed was very good and the sheets and towels were clean. The coffee maker was so dirty it turned me off, but I spent time cleaning it up. We appreciate the hot plate and grill! They worked good. Best was the location!

Owners are very nice and accommodating. The owner loaned a tool to me to cut a lock off my trailer that wouldn’t open. We are planning our next text to that area and will stay here again.

Kari Ann was great. If I did any to improve the cabin. I would remove the futon in the living room and add love seat or couch for more comfortable seating. Maybe a screen door to let in air as there is no air conditioning.

Short But So Sweet

The owner was gracious enough to let me stay here for one night on my way through the Black Hills. This little set of cabins is delightful and a great way to end the day. Nearby many trails and services.

Fall weekend in Black Hills

Very centrally located to Custer Park and Rapid City We enjoyed local hiking trails , Buffalo Roundup the Park Fall colors and local Breweries. Would stay there again for quality evening porch time and convenient location.

Perfect Location

The cabin was a perfect location to the many attractions in the wonderful Black Hills and Rapid City that my granddaughters and I explored over our 4 night stay. It was nice to come home from a day of sightseeing and relax in our cozy cabin home. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed and the pool and quiet surroundings were the welcomed calm we needed in our busy schedule. We would stay here again if we journey back to the Black Hills

Awesome getaway

This lil cabin was perfect! So clean, and organized, had everything we needed for our stay except food and clothes! WiFi was pretty darn good most of the time (FAR BETTER than places that you'd expect good wifi), I even streamed some movies during rainy days. Pool was beautiful and a great temperature. Really nothing more we could ask for - unless someone could control the weather! Kari Ann is a great person, very friendly, attentive and ready to make our stay perfect!

Great get-away spot!

The cabins are located close enough to the main road that you're not completely isolated but far enough away that you aren't watching constant traffic. The bed and bedding were very nice and comfortable. We did not use the included twin bed or futon for sleeping, but the futon was comfortable for watching TV (we were additionally entertained by a fun lightning storm during our stay...wooo!) We stayed just before Memorial Day so the pool wasn't open, but it looked nice! The inclusion of smores and access to a gas grill are definitely a plus! If you need additional entertainment there is a small library of DVDs/Blu-Ray discs to borrow (or bring your own). Our unit was nicely equipped with a small kitchenette and small fridge with a freezer (added bonus since we had cold packs that needed to be re-frozen). Our host was extremely pleasant and informative...even called me when the storm was coming in to warn me of the potential dangers! The *only* complaint (I use that word lightly) is that you can hear the traffic from the highway and the occasional construction truck took away from the quiet once in a while. Do *not* let that keep you away...the wind blowing through the pines and 99% quiet are definitely worth the stay here!
