Howling Elk Lodge is the perfect get-a-way from the city life and set in the ideal location; walking distance (2 blocks) to Monte Verde Lake, a half block to the head of Lady Slipper hiking trail, and only a 9-min drive (3.5 miles) to the Bike Park area. As you enter through the front door, the mountain vibe will embrace you. The open floor plan is perfect for the whole gang to hang out. The kitchen, dining, and family rooms all flow together. The family room has two comfy leather sofas and a glider armchair. Get out the popcorn and relax by the wood-burning stove and watch your favorite shows on the flat-screen TV. Or enjoy quiet time and the wildlife views from the large picture windows. Let your inner chef take charge in the well-laid-out kitchen, featuring stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. There is room for two to eat at the breakfast bar and six more at the dining table.

The cozy cabin sleeps 9 guests comfortably. There are two full bathrooms and two bedrooms on the main floor and two more separate sleeping areas in the loft. The master bedroom is furnished with a king-sized bed, flat-screen TV, DVD player, and a large walk-in closet. The updated en-suite master bathroom has a single vanity with a granite countertop and a tiled bathtub/shower combo. Down the hall is the second bedroom; equipped with a queen-sized bed. The second full bathroom is across the hallway from the second bedroom. It is updated with a granite countertop vanity and tile in the bathtub/shower combo. Upstairs is the loft that is separated into two areas. The back area has its own flatscreen TV, a queen-sized bed, a full size fold-out floor mattress, and access to its own balcony. The front area is open to the lower living area. It features a queen-sized bed, foosball, a mini pool table, and a game table. This home also has a full-size washer/dryer and free Wi-Fi so everyone can stay connected.

INSURANCE: Most reservations come with accidental damage insurance, should you have an accident in the home. The Trust and Safety Fee includes up to $10,000 of coverage for contents damage and up to $100,000 OR $1,000,000 coverage for property damage and bodily injury depending on the property.

ANGEL FIRE COUNTRY CLUB: Open to the public. A fitness center and indoor heated pool are available for a small fee. Fine dining and full bar at Elements.
GOLF COURSES: Angel Fire Resort Golf Course (2.5 miles), Valley Escondido Golf Course (12.9 miles).
DAY TRIPS: Taos and Taos Pueblo Village (24.9 miles), Taos Ski Valley (43.7 miles), Rio Grande Gorge Bridge (36.6 miles), and Santa Fe (92.6 miles).

All our properties are maintained by professional snow-plowmen; we make every effort to ensure the property is accessible upon arrival. However, please be prepared for extreme weather conditions. A 4WD or AWD vehicle is highly recommended. Resort Properties of Angel Fire cannot be responsible for guests' inability to reach the booked property due to the lack of a 4WD/AWD vehicle.
