Villa Turquoise is located right on the pristine beach of Matemwe, a small fishermen village on the North East Coast of Zanzibar with stunning views on the lagoon and the Indian Ocean offering complete privacy and luxury. Visit www.zanzibarbeachvilla.net for a complete impression. The villa is brand new, built in East African style with an impressive thatch Makuti roof. The large garden, with palm trees and plenty fresh fruit, features a large private pool (10 x 5) with a shallow end and wide stairs ideal for children. Plenty amenities (pool table, satellite TV, free Wifi, powerboat for snorkeling, fishing, diving etc...) are included. The owners stay frequently in the house and have brought the level of luxury, comfort and service to the highest on the island. The house has 5 en-suite and air conditioned bedrooms with king size beds (one extra large room has two kings size beds). The house has four dining area's, two kitchens of which one open with a view on the lagoon. The house is cleaned daily, laundry and catering are available. Awesome place!!

This property was amazing, one of the best properties we have ever stayed at! It was clean and spacious, exactly as advertised. The staff was great, the chef made amazing meals, the property manager (Donna) was really great - she set up tours, dinner reservations and gave us some great recommendations for activities and things to do. I would highly recommend this place, it was truly special!!

Great Holiday Home

Nice house, nice location and good people working there. The house has a generator which came in handy, wifi is adequate. The house and property is very clean and well appointed and is near plenty of restaurants right on the beach. Lucky is wonderful, she is onsite and will help arrange things and she is very good at massages. I would definitely recommend this Holiday Home. Communication with the house manager was clumsy from the start and i needed to revert to the owner at times. When waiting hours for information to plan our day i was tired of waiting i asked the house manager for a taxi number and was refused claiming for insurance purposes? How would me booking my own taxi (when i want and without tracking down a staff member) be an insurance risk for the house? It took communication with the owner to get a simple taxi phone number. This house is more a less a hotel, friendly staff everywhere. At times there was not the privacy expected. Early in the morning opening the windows and doors without being asked and when people were sleeping or 8pm in the evening someone will walk through house to the kitchen.We asked for a key to lock up when we left, the house manager said she would get me one, this never happened. We came home one evening, gates are open and so was the front door, no one we could see around but i am sure there was as there were security guards seen at times. The key would have been nice. This Villa at times made us feel bad for asking for privacy.

Wonderful Anniversary Stay!!

This villa is gorgeous! Beautiful beach front access, great open design and layout. The host Donna is available to assist with all of your needs with just little notice, she can books tours, excursions, dinner plans, rentals etc. The staff at the villa are very sweet, always accommodating and the food was excellent every day! The pictures don’t do this villa justice. The area of the villa is very safe and quiet during the day and evening. It’s very easy to venture out onto the beach and find local places to eat and drink or local people to take you on a reef walk. The people of Zanzibar are very nice, always helpful and nothing is a worry, hence the frequent saying Hakuna Matata! Treat yourself and book this villa, you won’t regret it😍

Incredible property

We had an amazing time. Everything about the villa was perfect! The staff and cook may have been the best part about the stay. The villa sits on maybe the nicest beach that I have been to. The only problem was we only had a couple of days to enjoy. Next time we will plan for a longer stay. We will definitely tell friends about the Villa. Thank you so much for our experience.

Amazing Views & Great Location

This property is magnificent. The location is steps from a huge beach that goes on for miles and miles. The views from the house are amazing and there are multiple seating areas throughout the property. The pool is an ample size and I would recommend getting the food catered during your stay as it is delicious and convenient.

Fantastic place right on the beach

We were a group of 6 and agreed this was the best vrbo experience we ever had! The Villa Turquoise house was wonderful. Very clean and bigger than expected with many living spaces. The staff was beyond wonderful, the food prepared by the chef was exceptional. We would highly recommend!

Amazing Luxury Getaway for all ages

This property was an amazing, relaxing vacation with a full staff that adheres to covid protocols. It was the perfect vacation with snorkeling, beach and pool swimming, delicious personal chef made meals, beautiful rooms with AC if needed, and a pool table, tv, and WiFi for the kids. We brought family, friends, and kids and everyone had a wonderful time. The staff is friendly and helpful. The amenities are all setup for you so you don’t have to call around if you need anything. Highly recommend!

Luxury Property with an Amazing Staff!!

This place couldn't be more perfect. I enjoyed every moment of my stay.. The pictures don't do the property justice. We were blown away from the views as soon as we entered. The house is fully staff and each staff member was beyond helpful. The house manager Donna was also very accommodating and personable. She made sure every request was fulfilled. The house itself is very spacious. We were a group of 9 women and had more than enough space. The chef prepared delicious meals daily.I highly recommend this property!. I cannot wait to return.

Amazing villa on a fabulous beach

This villa is a pure wonder, and it’s staff made our stay just perfect. It is perfectly maintained, clean and beautiful. The beach in front is also clean and safe, a few minutes walking distance from a great diving center. We felt we could stay there forever! I will definitely recommend it to all my friends!!!

Wonderful villa, amazing stag, great cook!

Booking this place was the delight of our trip! We had everything we dreamed and more. Sparkly clean, comfort, privacy, beautiful design (inside and out), a view to die for, amazing food and wonderful staff! What more can you ask for?

to make it short: our stay in your house was absolutely superb and we have enjoyed every single minute of it!! we have done extensive walks on the beach and always came back to the villa recognising that it is by far the most beautiful house along the beach. a great big compliment to you, the architect and the builders and decorators that have contributed to it. really very nice house with spacious layout and all luxuries one can think of. that combined with that fantastic location and the super friendly and welcoming staff, … don’t know what to say. just brilliant. donna was very helpful to get started and find our way around and with organising the trips and also made sure that our girls did not spend a fortune on gadgets when they went shopping by themselves. lucky and angel both were angels and did everything we could think of to make our stay as pleasant as it could be and once we had learned about the relaxing massages, lucky was busy all day to massage every one of us almost on a daily base. and khamis fed us beyond we could cope with, only then to get teased by donna that we have not eaten enough! the kids loved it as much as the adults. so thanks you very much letting us stay in your great house. it has been a truly memorable experience and holiday. will certainly recommend it further and sincerely hope to come back one day.

Outstanding Villa, Brilliant Staff!

Beautiful house, fabulous setting, but much more important, outstanding people. Our experience was awesome start to finish, due in large part to the wonderful communication with the owner and the fantastic staff he has assembled in Zanzibar. Aptly named, Villa Turquoise is a gem of a house; beautifully designed, well maintained, great floor plan, beautiful pool and garden, all set in an extraordinary location on the gorgeous, miles-long white sand beach. Maybe best of all, it is extremely comfortable inside and out. Our family of eight spent a glorious week here, a perfect complement to our safari adventure. We used every nook and cranny of this lovely home to read, work, nap, play and relax. We snorkeled, walked the beach, visited a spice farm, explored Stone Town and ate very very well. Hanging out by the pristine pool was the preferred activity for the kids……and always our gathering spot at cocktail time. So….to the people: the house manager, Donna, is lovely and organized everything we needed, patiently answered a lot of questions and was always available. Lucky and Angel are the impressive team that runs this house, always with brilliant smiles. The chef, Khamis, was wonderful, produced an abundance of great meals…and gave three of us a cooking lesson one afternoon. The house has three dining areas, inside and out and we used them all. The twice we ventured down the beach to restaurants made us realize we had much better fare at home. Other behind-the-scenes staff ensured the pool was always sparkling and the garden immaculate. The result of all this attention was that we felt secure, very well cared for…..and indulged. In short, this was an extraordinary vacation for our family and Villa Turquoise a wonderful choice…..we’d happily return.

Very comfortable, great staff, nice location

We had a group of 9 people, and we fit very comfortably. It was great having our own space and not having to pay for restaurants every night. The swimming pool was great, and there were many lounge areas. The location was very convenient to Mnemba Island, which is great for snorkeling and scuba diving. The beach goes on for miles. The sand was firm enough that you could go for a walk, run, or bike ride. We were there during the Olympics, and the TV and channel selection were great. I highly recommend it!

Séjour mémorable : - maison spacieuse en excellent état et très propre - vue à couper le souffle depuis la terrasse (jardin, piscine, mer; plage) - piscine très propre - grand jardin magnifique - repas délicieux et variés - personnel souriant, serviable et disponible (pas de problème pour changer les horaires des repas...) - manager très efficace (Donna) - WIFI nickel (super pour les devoirs des enfants :-/ - bateau à disposition un jour sur deux, très pratique pour aller faire du snorkeling sur l'île de Mnemba - conseil, y aller à marée basse, quitte à louer une voiture avec chauffeur pour rentrer à la maison - plage propre et avec juste quelques beach boys pas collants (rien à voir avec le Kenya) - mer à plus de 37° en fin de journée (on se brûle les pieds !!!) - générateur électrique très pratique en cas de coupure de courant réseau Un seul bémol : - pas d'eau chaude dans 2 chambres pour la deuxième partie du séjour mais avec 33°, on peut s'en passer. L'eau chaude est revenue après notre départ. Peut-être avons-nous fait une fausse manoeuvre...

Amazing place

This house in beautifully situated on one of the best beaches in Zanzibar, Matemwe beach. The staff took great care of us and nothing was a problem for Lucky, Angel, Hamiz the cook and Sele Ali. We thoroughly loved our two week stay and used the boat and the oppies daily.

Perfect vacation

Our stay in Villa Turquoise was absolutely perfect. We totally fell in love with the place. It really is just as beautiful as shown in the photos. We are a family of four with two teenagers. The house is very spacious with 5 bedrooms, perfect also for larger groups with a huge dining table on the terrace and many different seating areas inside and outside. From the two main upstairs bedrooms, there is direct access to the porch with a stunning view of the garden with pool, the beach and ocean. The private beach and the direct beach access (you just pass through a little gate) were highlights for us. Bart, the owner, and Donna, the manager, were very helpful and easy to communicate with. We loved being pampered by Lucky and Angel and all the others. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and discrete at the same time. We chose to have the Chef prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for us and the food was always delicious.

This is as near to paradise as it gets

Thanks for a fantastic time at Villa Turquoise. After an exhausting week on safari in the Serengeti (which was fantastic) it was so nice to chill out in Zanzibar. The Villa is magnificent and the staff are all wonderful. Lucky is so efficient and completely calm all the time. “no worries” she would say whenever there was something we wanted. Khamis is a gem. He doesn’t realise how talented he is. He produced some fabulous food for those who wanted it alongside pasta or something simple for those who didn’t. Thank you, Donna, for all you did for us. My wife was so grateful that you managed all the catering requirements so that she didn’t need to lift a finger ! Bart, you chose a beautiful location and have built a beautiful house. I love it. It is perfect and fits the environment perfectly. I love the high makuti roof and the wide veranda upstairs. The bedrooms are so comfortable, each with its own facilities. My wife and I had one in the front and woke each morning as the sun rose over the sea. It was idyllic. The beach, stretching for miles in each direction is so unspoilt; no high rise hotels (yet) and few guys hassling you to buy things you don’t want. I speak swahili which makes a difference so we had a laugh and a joke with everyone – including Solomon Dishwasher, just along the way !

Perfect vacation

The villa was perfect for us (group of 10 with kids) as we had enough space for all of us. The rooms are nice and the kids liked the pool a lot. Sitting on the terrace in the evenings was great. The staff did a tremendously good job and they tried to fulfil all our wishes. The chef was perfect and we were amazed about the variability of food he provided to us. In particular we liked a lot the Swahili Food that we had twice and also the lobsters. We also felt very safe and we noticed that whenever the kids went down to the beach somebody from the villa was checking that everything was allright. Donna, the manager, organized all the trips in a very good manner. So taken together, from our point of view Zanzibar was a great experience and we hope that we can come back in the future.

Remarcable

Villa magnifique, comme sur les photos, très spacieuse, joliment et sobrement décorée. Accueil avec noix de coco du jardin ! Le personnel, d'une grande discrétion, est d'une infinie gentillesse ; le cuisinier, excellent, s'adapte à tous les régimes et désirs de chacun. Piscine entretenue chaque jour. L'emplacement est idyllique, plage propre, déserte, baignade pendant la marée haute. Rien de mieux pour un repos total. Notre correspondante est venue à 3 reprises sur place, début, milieu et fin de séjour afin d'ajuster tous nos besoins et attentes. Nous nous souviendrons de ce séjour... RE-MAR-CA-BLE !

Dream in Zanzibar

After climbing the Kilimandjaro and a 2 days safari, the 10 of us (4 parents and 6 children aged from 12 to 21) needed to rest. When we arrived at the villa Turquoise, we were all amazed by the house with its beautiful and modern decoration, the incredible view on the beach and the ocean, its quietness and the warm welcome of the team in the house. It's been a dream for 10 days, we enjoyed being able to calm down, not having anything to prepare for the meals or the cleaning, going from one sofa to another, swimming in the sea or the swimming pool, being alone in a quiet space of the villa or sharing one of the 3 dining rooms altogether. Relaxing in paradise

Villa Turquoise in Matemwe is amazing. This has been the perfect end after a two week safari. I am sitting here writing this watching the sun come up over the Indian Ocean and it is beautiful. The house is very large and comfortable. The staff is amazing. Angel, the head housekeeper, is so helpful and available when you need her but not intrusive. Hamis, the chef, prepares some amazing meals based on preference. We have had some amazing fresh fish dishes and looking forward to our Zanzibar style cooking lessons later today. The boat captain took us snorkeling yesterday and we are going fishing today. My husband and I have enjoyed long walks on the pretty white sand beach. My two teenagers have enjoyed the pool, pool table. and excellent wifi. Donna, the house manager, goes out her way to make sure that you are comfortable and very helpful arranging spice and Stone Town tours. This is a beautiful island that is just a one hour flight from the mainland in Tanzania. We flew Coastal from an airstrip in Lake Manyara and avoided major airports which was nice. There is a t.v. and dvd player though we have not turned them on as the outdoors is so beautiful. The grounds are very pretty and appreciate the fresh coconuts that are available. I would highly recommend this rental where your biggest issue is whether you would like your meals served upstairs, downstairs or by the beach. Beautiful setting and wonderful staff who go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Security is on site and it is very safe here. Bart was wonderful to work with and excellent communication.

Great time for all the family

The extended family stayed at Villa Turquoise for 8 days in October and a wonderful time was had by all. Ages ranged from 5 to 74, and every single one of us would rate this holiday as probably the best ever (including a great 4 day safari in the Masai Mara). We celebrated two birthdays, 10 & 70, at villa turquoise and Lucky and the rest of the house team really made sure the experience for the two 'birthday girls' was a special one. Other highlights, a truly fantastic upstairs terrace for eating/lounging, boys got to play football on the beach out front with the locals, the motorboat for snorkelling and swam with dolphins, spice tour and stone town visit all arranged very efficiently through the villa, good food all week at a very reasonable rate, lots of space for 12 to enjoy the house and really relax, swimming in the pool and the sea etc. I'm pretty sure this is the best place on Matemwe beach and I can't recommend highly enough. Fantastic memories! Thanks to Bart for arranging the booking and to Lucky and all the house staff for looking after us all so well,
