Charming and Spacious A-Frame minutes from James Creek Launch - Raystown Lake

Charming A-Frame home on wooded grounds, perfect for a relaxing retreat. We are 1 & 1/2 miles from James Creek boat launch. We are near the center of Lake Raystown, located near Entriken.
This home has three bedrooms on the second floor. One with a queen bed and a spectacular view, and the other 2 smaller bedrooms with queen beds. The other semi-private sleeping area is on the lower level/basement and has 2 full beds. The lower level has a TV, woodstove, full bath/shower, refrigerator, microwave, laundry room, and a game room with Foosball table, corn hole and air hockey table.

The main floor has a cozy living room area that has a wood stove, DISH TV, and Wi-Fi is available. The main floor has a dining area, and a sitting area with a gas fireplace to enjoy your morning coffee. It has a full kitchen area with counter seating and dishwasher. There is a full bath/shower on the first floor.
The walk-around deck is furnished with an outdoor table, seating, and a gas grill. A fire ring and seating is available off the lower level. There is also a relaxing covered porch located off the lower level to watch the birds and other wildlife.
Boat parking available. RV/Campers are not permitted.
Lake Raystown is the fishing and boating capital of central Pennsylvania and James Creek launch is a hot spot for bass tournaments. We are five minutes from Lake Raystown Resort and Waterpark & Beaches, Trough Creek State Park's Balanced Rock and Swinging Bridge, multiple hiking trails, and great trout fishing. We are 15 minutes from Seven Points Recreational Area and Marina & Beaches, the Allegrippis biking trails, golfing at Huntingdon Country Club and guided fishing tours. Also, hunters are welcome. Walk across the street and hunt the Army Corp of Engineer property.
The house is approximately 20 minutes from Huntingdon, Juniata College and Lincoln Caverns. Blue Knob, Tussey Mountain Ski Resorts and Penn State University are also within a one-hour drive.

This is a wonderful house thst is out of the way from busy areas. Loved our stay, I would like to suggest that the driveway should be driven in a vehicle with high clearance. It is a dirt driveway that has ruts and a little wash out from rain with an incline that is a little aggressive at the end.

Great weekend

Deb was a great host! House was cozy and big enough for 9 of us comfortably! The driveway was steep but we got up it fine. Tons of games for both adults and kids to enjoy! Stocked kitchen. Overall a great weekend.

Really Enjoyed Our Stay

The house was everything we expected, it was stocked well with everything we needed, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The outside yard and landscaping is beautiful. The driveway is a bit steep and rough, we were towing a 18' fishing boat, our four wheel drive F250 made it up easily, but it was tight turning around at the top of the driveway. Very close to James Creek boat ramp. We would definitely book again.

Cozy Comfort

This home is very cozy. Hosts supply everything you need to be very comfortable away from home. Plenty of nooks and crannies for everyone in the group to settle into, yet large enough living room for everyone to gather together. I highly recommend this property.

Total stocked and cool

Our time at this location was easy as pie! Described to a T and stocked as well. I stopped at the markets for supplies and found when I arrived that spices and condiments were present. Left all that I opened to continue the supply process. So kind and nice. Lots of games, outdoor and indoor. Thanks

Perfect relaxing getaway

The landscape here is incredibly beautiful. The home is very comfortable and has a lot of things other places don't. Plenty of towels in bathroom and kitchen. Lots of extra throw blankets for cozing in on the couches. Great little stash of spices for cooking and every type of dish and cooking and grilling utensil you could possibly need. Just bring your food and you are all set. I stayed here alone and it may be unnecessarily large for one person, but I loved having all the space to myself. It would be perfect for a family or group. Surprisingly large space with plenty of places to sleep. Great selection of indoor and outdoor games and activities. The main bed was very comfortable. I spent hours just on the upper wrap around porch, drinking tea, reading, and watching the birds. The property is so peaceful. Trough Creek State park is only about a 15 minute drive away and has so many trails and features, you can spend a whole day out there. Then come back to a hot shower and a cozy place to wind down, make a fire and some mores, or settle in for a movie in the reclining couches. Cable tv plus there are apps already installed so you can log in to your streaming services if you want. I cannot recommend this place enough. A friend of mine that lives in the area was so impressed by it, he immediately looked it up and wants to book a weekend for him and his friends. It really is a treasure and I hope to be able to visit again.

The best experience I had

Awesome place to stay. The host generously agreed to postpone our reservation when one of the guest got sick just before our trip. The cabin is fully loaded with what you need and more.

Perfect Family Getaway

This rental has absolutely EVERYTHING! There was not one thing that we did not have. The huge wrap around porch was amazing to drink your coffee on in the morning and watch the nature. The gas grill is hooked up to the gas line so you can just grill away with no worries. We had 8 people in the kitchen at once and never bumped into each other so there is PLENTY of room throughout. There are tons of family games and outside activities to keep you busy. There are 2 full size refrigerators so you do not run out of room when cooking for large families. The lake was closed due to Hurricane Ida so we stayed at eh house and made the best of it. There is plenty of paring as well in case you have larger vehicles. The property owner was so pleasant and fast to respond. We will definitely rent from her again!

Lake House Adventure

This property was great! The owners were very accommodating and provided a lot of amenities that other properties did not in our experience. Plenty of room for our family and guests, great kitchen and outdoor grill, awesome fire pit, really just an enjoyable visit.

Wonderful stay

Cozy cabin and yet plenty of room. Very beautiful inside and out. Convenient location and yet a quiet get away. Plenty of outdoor and indoor games, nice kitchen. Would love to come back!
